Great video, just bought one to use as a fun bike and around campus commuter. Excited to put it together and start riding your videos are a big reason why I pulled the trigger!
Well your the first rider that actually is a rider and have been riding for a long time. Yeah the DLX is of quality, however, I need the 6 speed. The on and off pavement is the reasons. The 6 speed's tend to have the lower 1st gear also. In that I do a ton of "no trail to be had', as I term it "free lancing" through the woods/forest riding. So yeah I need a bike with out a radiator and 6 speed and, the short stroke of a 250 cc. Also the shortness of length with these bikes really helps with maneuverability when things get tight out there..... Rock on.
I am the proud owner of a Templar X some caveats: licensing make sure that when you get your MCO that it says motorcycle not off-road dirtbike this has been a constant struggle to get mine licensed. Insurance they would only do liability on the Chinese motorcycle. Nibbi carburetor put this on before you even start the motor cycle buy good American made stainless steel hose clamps and fuel line put your fuel line on the carburetor before you ever attempt to mount it it will save you a ton of time because the space is tight. Nibi makes an ignition I would swap out the original and use a NGK iridium spark plug chances are you’ll never ever have to change it. If you plan on changing your sprocket once again do this before you even start the bike I would recommend a high-quality chain with a rivet master link. As stated in the video Loctite Loctite Loctite. Drain the oil high-quality synthetic. Take your time break in the motorcycle engine slowly. Remember your tempering the steel. Just some suggestions.
Yup this isn't my first Chinese bike this is kinda what this channel started on. I always ride my bikes before upgrading to nibbi but when i do I always go nibbi. I also had the mco and Bill of sale changed to say motorcycle. I've gone overpretty much everything you've covered here in all of my other videos.
@oneanddonetzone3673 nope didn't take it that way friend! All good points for anyone reading the comments and seeing this as their first video from me or any Chinese clone bike video! Another good point to add is to always check the fuel tank before filling it up as a few of the bikes I've gotten have had metal shavings Inside. A good fuel filter and some compressed air always takes care of that. Also immediately replace motor mounts if possible on all of these Chinese bikes. They tend to snap easily. This has happened also on 2 of my bikes with light riding. They over torque the soft metal bolts on the mounts.
I personally divide it in half per a normal routine interval on a name brand bike. So a little more frequent but better for peace of mind and longevity. It's going to be a lot less anyhow.
I have a question cs I have one I bought 2 weeks ago and my front tire went flat cause of the beadlock or what the other nut on the front wheel, is there any way I can fix?
@darkowlmoto How did you fit a 12 tooth oon the front? I couldnt even fit a 7 tooth? You have a link to the part? I did put an 36 tooth on the back Gets up to 70 now.
and 14 in the front. Im on a roll today. Ive swapped Carbs, chain and the rear tooth only. She cruses at around 55-60 but can get up to 75...going downhill...with a tail wind.
The stock is a 13 on the front so going down 1 tooth in the front was easy. It's a 6 spline center much like the grom clone sprockets. You do have to make sure the pitch is the same. Shouldn't be a problem fitting smaller. Hope this helps!
Here’s a question about the choke, is it connected to the air box, or the carb? I’m looking to get a similar bike the trail master tm31, and I def wanna swap the carb right away.
@@darkowlmoto alr alr, so if I wanted to swap a new carb onto it, would I just delete the choke or could I just hook it up in front of the intake side of the carb?
I purchased a an expert Titan 250cc dirt bike but the one without the turn signals and cluster gauge, is it possible for me to purchase the cluster gauge from a DLX and the turn signals so I can make it street legal. I would probably need the wire harness from the DLX I don't know I'm just asking anyone if they can help
You can literally add any of these features to any bike. However it’s up to your state and what it deems street legal. Making it street legal with these upgrades doesn’t mean the state will deem it road worthy. Especially if the title says “off road”.
@darkowlmoto thanks for the information I really appreciate it, I live in Georgia and I know that I can register it as long as it has turn signals, headlight and Horn possibly close to gauge as well but my question was I wanted to buy the parts from a DLX to put it on minds, my bike is the same as the DLX the only difference is that the DLX has the turn signals cluster gauge hand brake light but what I have to change the entire wire harness or I don't know
Haven't titled and registered it yet. But it's always been pretty straight forward for me. Waiting a couple more weeks for better weather while I put some miles on it and break it in.
