I can now say ME1 is the best looking game in the trilogy now. The latter two games especially ME3 has a different art style and atmosphere. I never liked the art style and character model changes in the third game. I really wish they brought ME3 to look more like the other two games instead of the other way around. The faces in ME3 are off and the remaster doesn't change that. ME1 is even better than ever but my problems with ME2 and ME3 are far too large to ever be addressed in a remaster. The original is still the best game in the series. I didn't like how so much of what the first game had was tossed out. The gameplay,tone,atmosphere and narrative all took a turn for the worse. The Collecters are unnecessary and I hate that Cerberus is everywhere in thie third game and how you're forced to work with them in the second game. They're the two worst things about the series because they take too much time away from the setup of the first game.

I remember starting this game back in 2009 at the behest of my late good friend, after playing an hour or so, I was relatively unimpressed and told him I was going to stop. He insisted. Pleaded even. "Just keep playing it.. trust me".. and I'll forever be grateful.. for once it had it's hooks in, it became the very best gaming experience of my life (still unmatched even today), in no small part to the momentous soundtrack. ❤
No it doesn't. Bioware intentionally made them annoying to tempt players to doing it. I really wish we could do that to the non-character The Illusive Man. Besides just at the end.
Synthwave didnt originate in ME. Its been a genre for well over 30 years. But it really started to blow up around 04-05. how is stragner things btw? Looks like a show I would like. Based on the setting alone.
End of 2023 here, meaning full 16 (SIXTEEN!) years of technological progress since this game was released. And still, this music is unrivaled when it comes to matching the overall mood and feel of the level. 🎵🪐🌟
god i love this theme from the beginning with that little beat it has from the pauses throughout the song. it really captures the mysteriousness of the galaxy and the fear of chasing saren
AH FINALLY!! I've been wanting this theme to be extended. I still want it to play for longer than this, but it's better than the minute and a half versions I've seen floating around.
Really felt like this was sorely missing from the next 2 games. I get that it was maybe a bit too much for the tone of them, but maybe a remix would have made it work really well. It just felt so lonely without it. Everytime I come out of the map screen, I just find myself mimicking a corrupted version of this theme, simply because of how badly it got stuck in my mind/I miss it.
Mass Effect is the only game that made the hub sounding like a real war room, to focus, study the next approach and learn. I hear that music I immediately get the serious dialogue mode.
It's only been a year since I got into Mass Effect but this already makes me so wistful... then again it's because Mass Effect 2 and 3 really have nothing to compare to this and the Collector themes and Sovereign's Theme don't make me wistful so much as excited.
This was just a little quirk of my playthrough, but I always imagined that the Quarter Master also doubled as the driver for the Mako. It made sense to me, since on some planets you went into a facility in one end and came out the side and the Mako would suddenly be right outside with you. He's kind of like the 7th squad member, like the 5th Beatle, since you never saw him in action.
It would be so epic to travel onboard the real SSV Normandy through vastness of the universe among countless stars and planets with that song playing in the background, but sadly this isn't possible 😞😖.

This game without question has the best Normandy music. It also has the best Normandy design. I can never remember the Normandy music in ME2 even when I'm on a playthrough of it. ME3 doesn't even have any music on the Normandy. Hell in the war room you can hear chatter from Vigil. That absolutely needs to be fixed in the remaster.
