@zappa0088 No, not really. Just a brief MIDI test into REAPER over USB-C which went well. I'm gonna spend a bit actually making/finishing songs on XY, then I'll start exporting tracks and MIDI for real. 🙂
@@windowbed Really curious to hear more about what the options are for exporting tracks from the op-xy. I haven't heard anyone talk about whether there are options for exporting stems, whether the USB audio mode supports outputting individual tracks so you can multitrack record, or whether the only option is to solo and record out each track individually.
Awesome videos! Caqn you please consider creating a video showcasing the maestro and brain functions? I'm a bit confused and would love a simplified demonstration of its utility. Thanks so much!! Subscribed with alerts!
Thanks for this. Nice to see it put to practice. Any idea as to all the midi stuck CCs/notes? PS watch your video audio levels, this one was distorted.
I was SHOCKED! I honestly tested it so I could officially say I checked and it doesn't respond to sustain. I think I'm gonna sequence stuff from the Keylab pretty often on this thing...
Does the Brain and punch in fx affect the midi out sequences ? Didn't find the info in the manual and the diagram of the signal flow is unclear about that...
They seem to, but I won't know the details until I do a deep dive (might be a while). For example, the F punch-in FX mutes the track, but it only mutes the engine, not the outgoing MIDI. The punch-in effect that loops notes will also loop outgoing MIDI.
Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I wasn’t able to change the sound I was triggering on the OP-Z with Bluetooth midi. Would be a deal breaker to see the same limitation on the XY.
Yeah for sure. I was impressed by the resolution etc., but someone actually found a glitch where if you record too many notes in the space of 8 bars, it stops recording entirely... yikes!
You're supposed to be able to but it's buggy. You can record changes while the sequencer is going, but if you try to step edit bank/program there are issues with the FW. Namely, when you try to decrease Program on a step, nothing happens, and when you try to decrease Bank it... increases. 😐
They should be able to connect by USB-C. I tried OP-Z and OP-1F. Assume OP-XY can do too, so 3.5 can be vacant. Module if you have one on OP-Z can be used as well.
I don't think it's made for sample chopping. You could load the same sample onto a bunch of keys one at a time then adjust start/end points, but it's a slow enough process that I don't think it's the drum engine's intended use.
Wait you're supposed to make music with these things?? But for real I'm finally getting used to the workflow and was thinking about going live tonight :)
Thanks! Have you attempted to export tracks/sequences as MIDI for use in a DAW? That’s something I’ve been wondering about.
I was about to ask the same question

Wow! Thanks for recording this video - was very helpful!!
Thanks for this man , more xy vids please ! Subscribed

You are the best! Thank you for this.
Really appreciate you showing all of this functionality, thanks for taking the time and answering to the community.
Sweet. Thank you very much for tackling this!
I cant believe that the midi upgrade im happier the most about is that now the devices sends and receives sustain 😅

Are you referring to switching engines via Bluetooth MIDI or just playing different tracks?
Have you tried recording a sequence from an external sequencer? Or over usb?
Yeah for sure. I was impressed by the resolution etc., but someone actually found a glitch where if you record too many notes in the space of 8 bars, it stops recording entirely... yikes!
I've never seen a MIDI Implementation Chart on a TE product. :(
thanks for making this: 1 question can you easily record the outgoing midi for each track on the OP-XY over usb-c to a DAW?
Also: can you clock/program start/stop sync with the OP-1field over usb-c?
QUestion, can I sample and or listen to the fm Radio on it?
@@AutismMusician No, much to my dismay there's no FM radio on the XY 😭
@@windowbed 🚫📻📡😭 (no buy 4 me) ill just get the op-1 field I guess, .... if that still had it !?!?!?!?!
Cool that you can sequence changes in the outgoing midi channel, could you also sequence program change messages? 👀

Gotcha, hope they fix that! Thanks for getting back 🙏
Question about the audio system? Is it 44k/24bit or 48k/24bit? I haven’t been able to find anything about this yet
I don't know a ton about this kinda thing but Windows 11 identifies it as 44.1kHz, 32bit

I really really don’t wanna like this cuz of its price but daaaaayyyyyuuuuummmmmm. I kinda want it. Still no sample chop vid on whole TH-cam. How?

@ please go live Iam considering buying one
Why doesn't this surprise me ?
Shelling out thousands of dollars for TE stuff end then clip the shit out of ithe recorded audio
LOL
will it sync clock from other devices via MIDI?
Yep! Just not over Bluetooth
