Btw, tip for getting heavy bikes off the side stand: turn the handlebar all the way right as you push with your leg. Much easier!

Test rode one last week, the semiautomatic is spot on and the bike feels very good on all roads. Hope to buy one hopefully soon.

Test road one last spring 2015. Absolutely LOVED it. I ride a GoldWing. I would LOVE to have a FJR1300 added to my Fleet. If you think a FJR1300 is Heavy....ride a Wing! LoL. Great vid.

Hi Memphis. I do have both bikes. I am one lucky guy.

The electronic shift was discontinued in the US years ago. But I'm very exited for the 2016 model with an all new 6spd manual, plus other new goodies.

I have that identical bike the colour is awesome and it's around 145hp this dude has and opinion based on nothing but preconceived notions . This is one of the best sport touring bike on the road.

I had the same issue with my car, i came from a manual and the new one (Alfa GT) had a sequential shifter and no clutch, at first i would change gears without lifting the accelerator, and boy, it was harsh, then i got used to do as i would normally do on a manual car, and it was smooth as silk. It's weird, but i happens to every friend who tries the car, i guess we get used to do a "pedal play" between the clutch and the accelerator, and if we dont have a clutch, it's a whole new game.

Nice. They use the FJR1300 as police bikes where I live in Australia. I might get an XJR1300 (naked version) as my next bike. Do they have that model in Portugal?

I dont care for the color either. US models are liquid graphite (dark gray) so its only just a little better. Did not know they still made them with paddle shifters. Don't believe that is available in the US.

You do have two kick stands 1- standard , 2- at bottom center of the bike, please reviews are important to buyers and precise.

Maybe a bit of research on the bike before you review it would make you sound like you know what you are talking about

Love that bike mate, actually thinking about getting one as my 2nd bike. I currently ride a Suzuki Intruder 800 which is quite comfy but want to get something larger and that's a bike I absolutely love.
My only concern is the fact that it is a heavy bike and I am not to tall about 5 foot 8 inches, so the hight I think will be an issue right, especially on hill starts, what do you think?
    Thanks again mate, great work.

Derbyshire Wedding Events I am 5 foot 5 inches and I ride one, but I get very scared sometimes on an uneven road when I stop. This is a heavy bike.

Not a fan of AS. After 32 years of riding it's almost impossible to disconnect that brain to left hand programming. I foresee never owning any sort of automatic bike.

This is a sports version 146hp 138nm it’s hard to keep up with a lot of racers. You need a real fast bike to pass this one.

is the automatic transmission jerky towards throttle inputs or does the bike move you around smoothly at all speeds? and on top, how does the bike handle in low speed situations (city traffic, tight turns) ? i would mostly ride the bike in town + highway ofc. and would this bike also be suitable to a person like me who has only ridden a maxi scooter for 4 years and now wants to have something more powerful? it would have to be flickable though in city traffic.

    • @johnjones5977
      @johnjones5977 6 ปีที่แล้ว

In touring mode, the throttle is very smooth. Sport mode makes it less subtle. If you have only ridden a scooter this is NOT the bike for you.
