Ahhh that’s so nice to hear!! That’s the sole purpose of making these videos to inspire others to get outdoors, thank you so much for the lovely comment! 😊
I did the Ridge Route with y Rough collie Lady 15years ago ,it was truly stunning ,this brings back painful memories as she died 4 years later , as did my partner 2 years ago .Love the Lake District
Absolutely stunning Alex, you say that no one wants a Lord of the Rings 3hr video, well I'd watch it.😊 The views are epic and those wild swims would definitely be much needed after all that hiking. I'm really enjoying this seties, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Chris!! I’ll see what I can do regarding the 3 hour video, it’s going to have to be a very long walk 😂. Really appreciate the kind words and support as always mate, really does mean a lot 😊
absolutely beautiful!! 👌🏻👌🏻 this area of the Lakes is so stunning and you've just captured it in the most excellent way! You look like you're having SO much fun which is what it's all about. Those stream/pond baths look glorious too! When the vid finished hubby turned to me and said "well that was such a great video, can't wait til part 2!" :) I also can't wait til part 2. Also, would totally watch a 3 hour LOTR style vid of yours, your style and sheer enjoyment of the hills is totally infectious!
Thank you so much!! That is honestly such a nice comment, put a big smile on my face!! So glad you both enjoyed it, had a couple people say about a 3 hour video, I guess I’ll have to find a reeeeeally long walk to film 😂 thank you so much, really does mean a lot! 😊
Lurvly lurvly vlog! really liked the underwater footage, I can see you developing that, no doubt need a shory wetsuit for the cold, mask and snorkel to get the aquatic wild life!
Thank you so much for recording these first 2 days and sharing your hike with us. As you say - absolutely beautiful scenery! Your photography skills showing the Lakes at their best.
Awe inspiring start - no wonder you were wild swim spotting. I would have wanted to swim in that lake to. As it happens you chose an obscure pool. Did the job. Hey, the prosepects of a good night sleep are defo improved with the view and weather. Awesome dinner table to. Well, a great second dip and end to the trip. A bot sore underfoot but a grand old time. All the best. Mark
Thank you Mark! Yes I regret not swimming in the Lake, forgot the Lakes hadn’t seen rain for over a month so the rivers were very low! Best dinner view in the Lakes and it was free! 😁 Cheers for the comment Mark, all the best 😊
I live in Arlecdon, a little village where you started, probably walked past it. The western lakes is stunning. Ennerdale is a great place to start from and live close to. Unreal video as per.
Extremely jealous of you living there. Couldn’t believe how quiet it was, definitely an area I want to explore more in the near future. Thank you so much! 😊👍
What a glorious video, I think you really need some sort of bungie cord for that spork so you just attach it to your trousers lol it seems to cause no end of trouble. Excellent choice on a Fanta Lemon although I cant drink it as the sweetener is aspartame which is a migraine trigger for me. Having sat for 3 plus hours watching the Lord of the Rings movies yes please!
Hey Alex, just watched part 1 & what an awesome first day you had. The views, just wow!. We are so lucky to have this incredible landscape as part of our little island. Keep up the good work & content & hope to see you out there on the trails sometime 😀
Hi Alex what a beautiful video mate, I’ve really enjoyed this, I walked through Ennerdale on the Coast to Coast walk a very long time ago, and what a wild camp for your first night and the views looking back on Ennerdale and Buttermere valley ( my favourite valley ) and your wild swimming awesome, I think at some point I’m going to have a go at wild camping. atb Alex thanks for taking us with you and I’m looking forward to part 2 Cheers Glenn it’s a 👍from me
Thank you so much Glenn!! Very jealous that you’ve done the C2C, I wish I could’ve done it on this trip but didn’t have enough time unfortunately! Buttermere valley is just stunning isn’t it, felt very lucky being able to camp up above it with those conditions. You should definitely give wild camping a go! A night on the hills/mountains is fairly hard to beat. Cheers Glenn really appreciate it!
That was absolutely brilliant Alex. Wow, what an epic two days, those views were remarkable! Excellent filming as always and I actually would watch a feature length video - I never tire of that scenery. You had beautiful weather (at the same time as I had in the Peaks I think) and I am with you on the wild bath/swim front, so refreshing in the heat. Like Shawn @ShawnPettigrew I’d be interested in a breakdown of all the kit you took for this one and the total weight at the start of the trip. Looking forward to part 2!!
Thank you so much Greg!! Couldn’t have asked for better weather could we, almost a little too hot at times 😅 those wild swims saved me! Once I’ve caught up on videos I’m definitely going to be doing a kit list video, been meaning to do one for so long now, you don’t want to know how heavy the bag was though 😂 Really appreciate the kind words and support as always Greg, means a lot! Take care mate 😊👍
Another cracking video Alex! Would love to see a video on all the gear you've taken as looking to do a camp with some friends soon! Keep up the good work and can't wait for part 2
Stunning video as always, Alex. Followed your footsteps from a previous video up Grindsbrook to the Woolpacks last week for my first ever wild camp. Tough going for an old unfit bugger like me lol, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Good choice for a first camp. Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration and the idea!! Keep them coming!
Thank you very much!! Ahhh that’s awesome!! So glad to hear you had a great time, it’s a beautiful place to camp on Kinder, will always be one of my favourites. Thanks for letting me know!
Totally fabulous video Alex, I was there roughly the same time as you! But I had to limit myself to the lower areas though as I had developed a sore shin condition from doing too much walking the week before. As another has said, you have surpassed yourself with the video production. I got some great still photos in Buttermere it is an awesome place. Can’t wait for part two. 😀
Thank you so much Peter!! Sorry to hear about the shins, great you still managed to get out and about though, it’s a beautiful place whether it be on top of a mountain or walking lower down around one of the Lakes, beauty to be found everywhere! Buttermere is such a picturesque place, can’t get enough of it. Thanks again Peter, really appreciate all the kind words and support you continue to give me, means a lot! Take care 😊👍
Thank you Alex for your ever inspiring videos. Being in the great outdoors always lifts my mood and spirit but the times when I can't get out, I watch one of your videos and it does the same. So thanks for showing us some great routes across these amazing locations, and thank you for your expert delivery! When is part 2 of this out please?
Yessss this is class mate! Are you planning to kit/camera/kit break down as be class to see what you took for the trip but also for recording as that's extra weight a lot of people won't think about either when planning so fair play to you! Been telling my Dad about this trip so I'll get him on the vid. Speak soon brother.
My man!!! Cheers Shaun!! Definitely getting a kit video done in the next week or so, had a lot of requests now so need to get on it asap! The camera gear was a killer bro 😂. You’re a legend man, miss you loads!!
Incredible video. There are apps available to identify hills with your phone - eg Peak Finder. If you press the camera button on Peak Finder it overlays labels onto the hills. You can also adjust the hill labelling distance from your view point from very close to 100 miles + Thanks for the fantastic videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! I’ll have to check that out, I’m usually good with my Peaks but my brain was a little frazzled after that hike 😂 I’ll definitely check it out though as the Lakes is an area I need to improve on. Thank you very much! 😊👍
Hi Alex! very exciting video, really like watching you hike. Anyways, would you mind sharing where did you start your hike and is it accessible by public transport? thanks in advance!
How are you finding the Hubba Hubba mate ? I’ve got the same one myself but haven’t managed to get out in it as of yet, have you had any downpours in it yet ? Looking forward to the next videos 👍👍
Hi mate. I’m from Lancaster now living in Kendal area. Was in the lakes a lot this summer. However I didn’t hike. I want to start! Where should I start first on my new venture and what kit do I need ? Cheers Alex Matt
@alexcripps after spending years taking on Welsh peaks this video has given the reason I needed to go to the lakes ! @12:45 is there a name of the peak your at there that’s the best view of the lakes I have seen !
Your enthusiasm for nature is contagious Alex. Every time we watch your videos we simply want to get out there and explore more.

Great vid Alex, they keep getting better. Just as well you didn't take your 'old man' with you, you'd have lost him at the first hill!

The 'OMM' bag. What is that used for...? (asking for a friend).
I basically keep my valuables in there for easy access, great for storing the camera in there when I’m not filming as well 👍
