Ive watched a lot of your videos Alix, and theyre all great but this one is special. Your level of detail and great videography skills tell a great story which is both entertaining and informative. Thank you, more like this would be great!
Great video Alex , nice to see the Woolpacks from that angle, i have been going up there for decades but thats the first time i have seen it from a Drones eye view. In fact i was only there 3 weeks ago looking for a place to pitch up but everywhere was like i swamp so i moved higher up and pitched next to Sims Chair which was about as dry as i could find that day...what a difference a few weeks makes hey. Re the rubbish they could do with putting a few strategically placed signs up reminding the numpty heads to take their shite home with them . Its the day hikers that leave the rubbish not the campers !
Thank you very much! The spot I chose was just about okay but it was obvious it had been considerably wetter in the previous weeks! A few days of warm sunshine was exactly what Kinder needed. Sounds like you had an awesome camp up there still! Yes something needs to be done, hate seeing our beautiful Peak District covered in litter!
I enjoyed this so much. I have walked the same route many times over the years and it is so good to see again. I live in Thailand now so it seems strange when you say 13-14 degrees is so warm...here it it like freezing, while on my treadmill with the aircon turned on and enjoy your views and photography...so thank 7:57 you so much for your work in producing these bideos. ❤❤❤
Nice vid 👍 interesting about the pronunciation I’ve always pronounced it “grin as in fixed smile 😀 “ it’s a cracking place up there probably my favourite mountain 👍👍
Such a good video mate, very well put together, stunning location and you captured it brilliantly, you put my videos to shame, keep up the good work and see you in the next video, Stu.
I was up on Kinder for the very first time about three weeks ago. The top of Crowden Clough, where you crossed the falls, was in full flow when I went up, and you had to jump to try and avoid getting wet. Up at The Woolpacks, it was pure bog and went face first into the bog. But it was beautiful up there. It really hacks me off when people profess to love the outdoors and drop litter. Who do they expect will clear it up? Another great vlog Alex, great drone footage as always. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Chris! Sounds like you had an epic day up Kinder a few weeks ago. It’s crazy how things can change up there in the space of just a few weeks. Hard to think it was covered in snow just less than a month ago! Cheers Chris 😊👍
Nice one Alex I love watching people camping in the Peaks and sounds like you will be doing a bit more this year. Looks like you were maybe out the same night as me Tuesday night on Margery hill. Atb
@@alexcripps.outdoors yeah it was fantastic I've managed 17 of the 88 trig's now some I've repeated but I only started Xmas Eve with the trig's...I did ur trinicle one January too...infact I do loads of yrs to find the trig's haa .
One of my favourite last minute summer camps. Straight up Grindsbrook Clough and onto the plateau, then back off down the front in the morning, I need to get up there again soon.
Alex, I loved this! Unreal effort with the drone, camera and DSLR lol. Think you've found a really nice combo of GoPro on the longer days vs cinematic when you have time on your side etc - Enjoy all aspects of what you're producing though so keep it up! Great to continue to see back home like this!
You’re too kind bro! Really appreciate the kind words mate! 😊 Slowly working out what works best but I’m glad you’re liking the videos, means a lot. I’ll be bringing the camera gear over to Colorado next year 🙌 take care mate, miss you 💚
Hi Alex, I've just come across your channel for the first time. Really really nice video...I'll be back for more. I'm just about to get back out on the hill again, after a year or two away. This is exactly the kind of motivation that I needed. Thanks man...keep em coming 👍
Really enjoyed this. i regularly walk in the peaks and plan on some wild camps this year, so i found this very helpful, especially going through your kit
Great video Alex! Fantastic weather for a good hike and wild camp! Excellent footage throughout from the hike up to Kinder Scout and the drone shots from up top! 🥾🏕
What a wonderful video, anyone else get Jabba The Hut vibes from the rock at 07.29 or was that just me? Loved the drone footage :) so cool, as to the rubbish :( so sad people do that, two ticks would put it in a pocket and you can depose of it at home.
Cool video, just come across your channel and have subbed ,looking to get back into wildcamping again at elevation, after becoming disabled 12 years ago, really enjoyed your video, looking forward to watching more of your videos, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Just discovered your channel and already watched a few videos. It is so refreshing the watch someone who is passionate about their craft. Thank you for taking the time to produce quality vids. Cheers
Really enjoying ur channel, just discovered as I'm want 2 do some solo camping this year n I'm not far from kinder, so thought it might be a good place for my 1st solo camp, when the weather warms abit 😂
I really enjoyed that Alex end to end. I'm kind of new to the channel but found the good vibes took me along nicely. Fantastic approach up to camp. In some shots you wouldn't know you were in England. Awe inspiring as was that boulder field. Great pitch. The night appeared OK - the morning walk certainly was. Well, good going. All the best. Mark
Thank you very much Mark 😁. Grindsbrook clough and the route to the wool packs is such a unique part of the peaks, when the are rivers flowing and the sun is shining it’s a truly beautiful place to be. Cheers 😁👍
Cracking video Alex! Wild camps are so much fun! You definitely had the right idea of getting off the mountain early! Keep up the great work and looking forwards to the future content! :)
Fabulous video once again Alex. Grindsbrook Clough is such an iconic route onto Kinder. It’s been a while since I have been up that way as I have spent a lot of time getting to grips with the North side. The Woolpacks are amazing and I quite like taking a wander around them for a while, so many strange shapes eroded into them to discover. Your drone footage of them was brilliant, never seen them from that aspect. Loved it! Quite agree regarding the litter, no excuse there, I can’t say much else that is polite about that other than it is really disrespectful to that wonderful environment. I think you are ready to bosh out an equipment review video by the looks of it 😀😀
Thank you so much Greg really appreciate that! Don’t think I’ll ever get bored of Kinder, need to tick off some more cloughs this year! Glad you liked the drone footage, I loved seeing it from above on the controller. Yes more needs to be done, I definitely want to organise a litter pick up there this year with a small group, maybe at the end of the summer season. Gear reviews will be on there way to the channel very soon! 😁 thank you Greg, take care! 😊👍
great content... new to the wild camp scene but being an OCD ADHD over do it with the research etc I wanted the MSR windburner but. the boil cup was a tad narrow and the handle was a pain and the lack of ignition also and its height compared to what i bought as well although not a biggy but prefer the stout pot on the minimo, it has a wider pot which is great for spoon ange thus eating out of, the simmer control was also better and ignition, the handle is great, lid fits better and packs down better the only feature the windburner i prefer was the ability to place the boil cup in multiple positions around its base rather than faffing trying to get it re seated on the minimo... TOLD you i over do it and overthink it. Also bought the hubba hubba and hoping that will be suitable for 3.5 seasons LOL.
Just done this with my son on Friday, we made it a 10.5 mile walk in, wild 🏕 then the 4 or so miles back to the car park. Amazing place, and on our doorstep. What was your pack weight all told?
Were you by any chance staying at YHA Patterdale earier in June? Think I bumped into you in the kitchen there and have now stumbled across your channel by chance!
Great video! You make me want to camp alone somewhere in the near future. If I was a business I’d hire this man to promote outdoor gear. Alex has tonnes of talent waiting to be noticed around the globe to the millions. Get him viral please TH-cam! I beg.
Great video, I can feel that you are very serious when making this video, the content of the video is very rich and real! Our company also makes outdoor products, so I am looking forward to cooperating with you~
You're doing good, young 'un. A new generation of "Andy Beavers" Top tip get some walking poles and learn how to use them properly. You can thank me in twenty years or so.
What a lovely video Alex. One of my favourite spots to camp. Look forward to seeing more 👍🏻
Thank you so much Paul! Really appreciate that 😊 Beauty of a place isn’t it 👌
You are an inspiration, thanks for this Alex.
