I am a huge Redbreast fan. I've now added it to my collection and watched your video at the same time. Great format by the way! Great videos! Subscribe. I love the Redbreast series I think they are a great addition to any whiskey collection as they are something special.
Horribly jealous!!! I love port finished whisky/whiskey and when I saw this release I couldn’t wait to try it. Still not in Texas, but I can’t wait! Thanks for the review!!
First, just because I never compliment you on it, excellent video description, You are easily a top 5 whiskey reviewer for complete video descriptions. So, well done, you. Secondly, I was hoping I'd hear you say, "WOW, the berry notes on this are extraordinary." I too was hoping for a strong port showing. Anyway, cheers to ya!
I got this as well, I was hoping for more but it's still good. I tried it against the lustau and like it more. I'm also happy your tasting notes are very similar to mine. I'm getting the hang of this whiskey thing
Cheers! I think the whiskey is lovely, but with the sherry aging as well as the port, it's almost like the flavours are competing a little bit. Still, a very tasty little drop.
If you're a redbreast fan, you'll find a lot to enjoy here! If you try to see if any of your local shops got a stock of the PX edition, they'll likely have this one too
@@TheWhiskeyNerd thanks! I haven't been able to find the PX but it's on my hunting list. The 12cs and the lustau are some of my favorites. Also have the 15yr, but I think for the price the 12 cs is the better buy. Will keep an eye out for this one. Great review, I'm subscribing
@@billh724 cheers Bill! I guess being in Ireland I have a bit of an advantage getting Irish whiskeys! And yes, I agree that for the price, the 12CS is the better whiskey
I got really excited when you said Tawny Port because I love a Tawny Port influence but then I realised it's not matured and just a finish on top of the classic Redbreast combination which I never connected with. Oh well on to the next one for me. Good, informative video Matt thank you 🥃
Solid review buddy, think it would have done better being more port influenced which is what I thought with the 27. Was on my hitlist but now not so sure. Cheers!
I dunno, I think this one was nicer than the 10 year old special "Gilbey's" release they did recently, but yeah, I was disappointed here wth the seemingly absent port influence!
What's your favourite Redbreast Whiskey?
15 y/o.
@@johnstonejaxfldoxmebitch7388 a great choice!
My Tawny Port is arriving this week, but my collection so far is the 12, 15, 12 CS, Lustau and PX. Lustau has been amazing to me.
@@dyerseve07 the Lustau is really nice! If you liked it, you should like the Tawny Port one
PX is the best thing they have done since pre 2017 12 year cask.

It was just released, so it should make its way to you soon. But fair warning, it's a light port influence rather than a large hit of port.

Wow, thanks! The Whiskey might have been a little bit of a let down, but your comment definitely lifted my spirits!

Thank you! Cheers!

Cheers! Yeah, I think the sherry in the middle definitely took away from what could have been a lovely port influence

Fair enough! The 27 is a LOT more expensive than this was though.
Serves me right for getting my hopes up for a big slap of port!
I've discovered recently that i quite like a Tawny Port finish so this might be one for me took in to
It just might be!
Redbreast 12 year Single Pot Still! It’s smooth and a hint of Sherry, will have to see if I can locate this edition in the states.
Fingers crossed you can find it!
whats msrp on it
€100, I saw some places with it at €99 - €110, but mostly at €100
Favourite is still 12 CS, but I enjoy port so perhaps I would like this, even if it is a lighter finish and not a full cask or heavy finish. Cheers!
There's a lot to love about the 12 CS, but if you like lighter port finishes, you might really enjoy this one (if it ever arrives in Canada!)
Never been a huge fan of tawny ports…but Zane he loves port finishes.
Well this one is a very light port influence, so it might sway you...
PX and Lustay have set the bar very high to be honest🥃
They really did!
great review. this sounds amazing. I need to drink more redbreast and not this one is added to my list. thanks and slainte
Hope you enjoy it if you find it!
Was able to pick up a bottle of this in the U.S. (Ohio) for $99 US….
Including tax? Wow, that's a great deal and cheaper than Ireland!
This is the worst Redbreast expression I have ever bought. Super dissapointed. I would rather drink 12 year 40% and give the remainder to charity.
