Redbreast Single Pot Still, Tawny Port Cask Finish

- Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey initially matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. The whiskey was then finished in Tawny Port casks for a number of years, adding a new dimension to the profile used in the expression. All of the whiskeys then completed their maturation journey by marrying in freshly seasoned tawny port hogsheads for a final maturation period of 14-25 months.

Thank you for the review.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! If you try the Redbreast Tawny Port, I’d love to hear what you think!
Great review! For me it's Lustau, Lustau and then Lustau.....
Same here!
Cheers! Love it!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I prefer the Cask Strength, but I really like the Tawny Port Cask, too. I like this one better than the Lustau and haven't had the PX yet. I got it in Massachusetts for $89.99, though I did see it in one store for a ridiculous price north of $200, so you need to shop around for the reasonable price. It was worth the $90, but don't think I'd spend that for another, I'll just savor this one for as long as I can. BTW, I just checked the website of the store I got mine and they now also have the new PX in stock for $89.99. Gotta think about getting that one. I mean, life is short and you can't take it with you, am I right?😊
I would buy a whole case of PX at only $89! But I prefer the Sherry finishes.
Saw this today here in SC and it was still $199. At $99 I would have given it a serious look.
Keep an eye out. I expect the prices will come down.
I haven’t picked up the Tawney Port yet, but will at some point. Although, based on your review I’m not running out to track this one down. And, I agree that the Kentucky Oak was a little disappointing.
If you happen to find one for a good price, but I wouldn’t pay over $100
Great review. I continue to explore Irish. Tried a Redbreast PX edition and it has to be my favorite so far
Thanks! I’m a big Redbreast PX fan myself!
Great review Stacie, waiting for bunna cask strength this week, hunting this forever (binnys chicago finally) love my 4 red breasts, definately want the px sherry hook me up 😂, i’ll pay for it + ship, not in MI. Liking the 2 stacks you reccomended months ago , Tx 🥃
Email me Dunny! I’ll help you find a bottle of PX
I completely agree - I got a backup just in case this one opens up over time into something more satisfying, but so far, a bit disappointing. I don't get the standard Redbreast flavors out of it either - If you tasted this in a blind, would you have guessed it to be a Redbreast product?
Also, where did you hear that more PX is coming to the US? They need to make the PX a permanent product, the Lustau is so lonely all alone in the core Iberian lineup, and PX is sooo good.
That’s an excellent point! I would be able to pick it as a single pot still but it reminded me more of the Spots than Redbreast.
The next batch of Redbreast PX has been found in a couple of US states. I think TX and NY/NJ. The new bottles have a different batch number than the 2021 bottles. I don’t know if this shipment will be as plentiful as the first but hopefully they sent a lot!
Really enjoyed this review, a bottle I had my eyes on but the price sadly was a bit too steep for me. I would have expected them to splash deep into port but sounds a little limp. Great review, cheers!
Thank you! I definitely wouldn’t pay over $100. I think you’ll see these sit and decrease in price.
Tawney and PX cask bought localiy all in 3 days.
Let me know what you think! Which is your favorite!
Terrific review.
I am looking forward to opening one of the Tawney Ports I bought and comparing it with PX batch 1 and PX batch 2. I love the Lustau and the PX. Definitely have a different experience with the RB Kentucky Oak as I absolutely love that bottle.
Thank you! I don’t have a RB PX Batch 2 yet but I plan on getting a couple bottles. Looking forward to hearing what you think about the Redbreast Tawny Port!
GIVE IT TO MEEEE!!!!
Lol! I’d enjoy hearing your thoughts about it

I love Redbreast 27, I have Batch 2. Cheers!
I was also a little let down by this one, was hoping for more of a big hit from the port influence!
(quick question, my box says a minimum of 9 months, despite all the marketing saying 14-25... What does yours say?)
Same here. Box says 9 months but marketing is 14-25 months. 9 months is more believable based on the lack of Port.
ya'll can have the px gimme the port/madeira
Lol! Deal!
