I have been looking at various tutorials and this is BY FAR the best tutorial I've come across. Simple, step by step, easy to understand and works just like your example. Brava!
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any help you can give me.
As a total beginner, I've looked at several yourtube tutorials on this and yours is absolutely the best. I really feel confident that I can do this by the end of watching your tutorial rather than feeling more confused than when I started (which is how I felt watching other people's tutorials)! Thank you!!! (It was particularily helpful showing us what to do when things go wrong - thanks for including those bits too.)
This is the best video tutorial for making virtual choirs. I have just finished making a virtual Lessons and Carols service for my church using these techniques. Thank you Paloma.
From San Francisco USA: Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I am a 55 years old and a bit of a "technophobe", but I was able to make a split screen Holiday recording (Carol of the Bells) with my daughter using Adobe Premier Pro, thanks to your *excellent* instructions. Also, we love your positive energy!
@@palomasings Hi Paloma - here it is! (I am Sigrid, not sure how my husband's name ended up on this account :-)) th-cam.com/video/a3fAi15zBpI/w-d-xo.html
I Agree with all of the positive comments, and second the individual who said "...this is BY FAR" the best tutorial I've come across." It has been invaluable in helping my choir produce virtual ensembles during pandemic times. It's a resource I've consulted multiple times when editing pieces, and it really speeded up how quickly I was able to begin tackling the rather steep Premiere learning curve.
Oh, Michael, your words make me so happy!! To know that this tutorial is being helpful to so many people! I made it precisely for someone like you, who would want to make a virtual choir but had to learn from scratch, or knew a bit how to do it but needed that extra help. Thank you for letting me know ❤❤❤
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I must say this is worthy of an applause! I commend you for your thorough effort and for offering this for free. You are saving lives!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
This is one of the best Adobe premiere videos I've ever seen. You wanna know why? It's because she shows beginner mistakes, like messing out layouts or so and then she fixes them. Exceptional!
I thought so many people would be new to all of this... It's not just about putting videos together, but also learning how Adobe Premiere works. Thank you, Nimaz!
You! You are a godsend! THANK YOU! I have Premiere through my husband's work, and did not realise I could use it for this. I was able to create a video of my student's final project, and it went much smoother thanks to you!
Thank you Paloma. This is a brilliant tutorial. Most online tutorials purport to be for beginners but are (1) too advanced (b) boring and (c) not in the least bit useful. Yours was very clear and told me everything I needed to know to tackle the project. Muchas gracias.
This was so easy to follow! I just made my first simple Virtual Trio in less than an hour! THANK YOU so much for this! You are making every music teacher's world a better place!
Ohhhh thank you!! That's what I wanted, so many friends who are teachers would want to learn how to do this, so I made a tutorial. I'm very happy it helped you 😊😊
Thank you so much for this video. Like other people who have commented, I also spent ages look through tutorials to try and learn how to make a virtual choir/band with my students and this was the best by far. I am not confident with technology, but by following your tutorial I was able to edit a split screen video and I am really pleased with the results. Thank you!!
A million thumbs up for you! This is exactly what I wanted to know. don't worry so much about the video being long, the details are so important in PP. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this clear and detailed tutorial! I'm no expert with Premiere Pro, but I have enjoyed learning. I have used Acapella to record violin/piano and violin/violin duets; it works ok but has limitations. I searched for a long time before finding this wonderful explanation of how to do this in Premiere Pro. Lots of teaching videos have low resolution so that I can't read the screen. Some go too fast and make too many assumptions. This one is perfect. I learned a ton from watching this.
I've been looking for a VC tutorial specific to Adobe and not only was this exactly what I was searching for, but also you are a wonderfully clear and methodical in teaching the steps, not too fast, not too slow, and not assuming. Thank you so very much for the time you took to put this together for us.
Thank you, Ms. Briggs, for taking the time to write this message. This tutorial was made for YOU. For all those who wanted to make a VC in these pandemic times. I'm glad you and the tutorial were able to find each other. I'm not uploading videos lately and this tutorial is losing visibility (ah, youtube algorithms!), so please share away! Hugs from Madrid
Paloma, this video is a god send! So incredibly helpful, exactly what I needed, and with your joyful energy as a bonus! Thank you for putting it out there.
Wow Paloma! I love your energetic spirit on this video. Even though I'm an expert at Premiere Pro, I still enjoyed watching this to see how people are using Premiere. Keep up the great work! You're a great teacher and your going to go very far.
Thank you for such helpful video. You make it clear what buttons you click on, step by step, easy to follow for beginner like me. Most important you don't go 'FAST' like many other tutorials I tried to follow and lost my way. So thankful!!
This kind of situation is similar to me. Using the language we not always see on other professional tutorial. This is very convinience to a beginner. Thank you for making this video.
I wanted to make a bday video. God...! I learned how to make video collage in such a professional platform...This is easiest and best tutorial I saw. Thank You.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! You totally made my day. I'm new to Premiere Pro and I'm putting together a virtual ensemble for Easter Sunday - you are amazing. Happy Easter from Canada!
This video is absolutely amazing! Your instructions are very clear and walk you through the process step-by-step. I created an elementary virtual choir with only 11 students, so it didn't take too long :)!
I don't know if you were skipping shortcuts for the tutorial, but here a few that will be a HUGE help for you: - and = (SUPER USEFUL): zoom in and out in your timeline. Sync tracks: with a clip selected, hit Alt + arrow left/right. This will move your clip back and forth on the timeline (Shift Alt + arrow will skip 5 frames at a time). This is easier and more accurate than using the mouse. Ctrl + K: This will cut your clips. So at 40:19, you could've selected all clips and hit Ctrl + K. Boom! All cut. Just delete everything on the left or right side. Add Default transition (Cross Dissolve): Ctrl + D. I just learned this one this week and it was a huge timesaver when I put lyrics on my video and wanted them to fade instead of cutting. Try to learn a new shortcut every project you make. This will change your video editing from 20 hours to... 19.5 hours haha Just kidding. It could cut a good 5 hours or more from your editing one of these videos.
Thank you, Danilo! You are SO right. I learned Ctrl D some days after that tutorial. I have to get better at short cuts. They DO save a lot of time. Thanks for giving all this info here for everyone to read!
So educational. I'm great with the audio portion, but editing the video together has seemed overwhelming! Thanks for showing me how step by step. And what a voice!
@@palomasings next problem. My computer is just not up to it. But then I am trying to do a virtual choir of 40. Glitches galore! Ah well. Time to start saving! My son's gaming computer saved the day for this first one! Thanks for your reply and help!
Wow!!!! Thank you for all the time and energy it took you to create this video for us. It's by far the most thorough, clear, succinct, and useful tutorial I have seen. As a teacher, I have so much appreciation for your Index and the pacing of your vid. Brava!
Thank you for putting this together. Quick tip for aligning videos on the screen. Combine POSITIONING with ANCHORING. Anchoring is that little dot in the center of each clip. That's where positioning number is coming from and where the scale (zoom) goes up and down from. So, if you want a video at the top left, set anchor to 0,0 and positioning to 0,0. From there, change the scale (i.e. 50%). Then go to the next clip (in your case soprano 2) and do the same thing, but use values for both anchor and position to 1920,0 (that's 1920 horizontal by 0 vertical). Change the scale to 50%. Next, go to the 4th video (alto 1) and change position and anchor to 1920,1080. Guess where this one will be when you can scale to 50%?
Another tip: use Photoshop or Illustrator to figure out where everything needs to go before doing it in Premiere. This cuts down on time, since those softwares are much easier to do this kind of thing.
Danilo, THANK YOU!! Everyone will appreciate this, I'm sure. I have to check out that anchoring part 😃 I also use Photoshop for that, but I thought that would be too much for someone who uses Premiere for the first time and all they want to do is to just make a video without too much fuss.
@@palomasings that makes sense about not wanting to do the Photoshop thing. Just to expand on that a little bit: I create the grid in Illustrator and export it to Premiere (as a .png file). Then the cropping doesn't have to be quite as perfect since the grid hides imperfections.
I have done 4 of these videos and let me tell you that when I learned about anchoring in the second one, it was a life changer. It's SO much faster and more precise!! I was doing all kinds of math before, but the anchoring takes most of that away.
That was a really great video. I use the synchronize option so that I don't have to be zooming into the audio waves to sync. It works pretty good, but sometimes you just have to do it the way you showed it.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to make this tutorial. It was so helpful - I can now create virtual choir videos for my choirs! Question - are you able to modify pitch and timing (i.e. consonants, entries, cut-offs) of the audio files in Premiere Pro? ...In case some of my students' recordings need to be adjusted?
Hi Karin! Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately no, you can't modify pitch... When I need to do that, I do it in Studio One, the audio editing program I use. However, what you CAN do in Adobe Premiere is cut endings or beginnings. For example, if somebody holds a note for too long, I simply cut it and fade it out. Or if someone comes in too early, I cut it. If there are a lot of people in the video, it won't be noticeable.
