    The All Ohtani team has one massive advantage over every other team: Over a 162 game season, players will be injured, but on this team, every time a player gets hurt they are replaced by Shohei Ohtani. Real “Next Ohtani Up” mentality that no other team will have.

    • @FastDuDeJiunn
      @FastDuDeJiunn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      very true. but also as they mentioned, players rest more too, pitching and position players very seldom do 162 games anymore. that replacement is ofc same in this.

    The fielders are making tons of errors because they are listed as CFs.
    In The Show it doesn't matter if the player is Willie Mays. If he doesn't have LF as a secondary he will make errors. The game thinks the Ohtanis are in the wrong position so it makes them commit errors.

      Yeah, I was just gonna comment about this. Would we want Ohtani how he is now in the game, or would the testing be better done if he was listed as a total utility player, whose positions are listed as OF/IF? That way the game doesn’t think he’s playing out of position and penalize him.

      @@jeccdog7584 On the other hand, we are talking about Ohtani. It wouldn’t shock me if he could play in the NFL for a season, just on a lark, and, like, rush for 1000 yards as a running back (I suppose he’s built more like a WR, but I digress). In all seriousness, given a spring training to work on his defense, my guess is he could at least be _passable_ (puns!) as a corner infielder.

    Also: You guys sold me on the concept of a giant outfield more and more as the video went on. More inside the park home runs sounds like a great way to make baseball more exciting. I’m just amazed no Ohtani’s got injured and put on the IL so you’d have to replace them in the lineup and do so via trading and bringing players up from Triple A.

    Love the intro with clips from Backyard Baseball. Pablo Sanchez was always the GOAT, as well he should be...but for my money, Kenny Kawaguchi was Shohei before Shohei was Shohei (and no, not because of anything to do with them both being of Japanese heritage).
    The amount of times I could pitch a near perfect/perfect game with my man Kenny and then have him blast absolute hammers over the fence the following inning was staggering. Pablo Sanchez is the GOAT, *of course* but Kenny was always *my* GOAT

    My CAP catcher build last year in DD couldn’t actually catch a strike because there was no actual catcher archetype. It’s interesting that Franchise mode is so forgiving for out of position players despite the errors the Ohtani’s did face.

    The Angels don't just have the best player in baseball, they have the TWO best players in baseball (and in the conversation for 'of all time').

    • @Niptonian9551
      @Niptonian9551 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The two best are probably Trout and Soto tbh.

    • @sneersh9107
      @sneersh9107 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And they're wasting the careers of both of them... Trout having never won a playoff game (and only being in the playoffs once) in his over 10 year career is inexcusable and the Angels' front office needs to be held accountable, not just Angels' fans but baseball fans should be upset over this

    One thing that may help the fielding: In game, it's most worried about primary and secondary positions. If the player is out of position, a lot more errors will occur. May just be "good business" to change positions for some of the Ohtanis while reducing his attributes a little bit.

    • @harper-leightonscott4566
      @harper-leightonscott4566 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the stadium sucks too. I would've pulled in the stadium from behind to make passed balls from ohatni the catcher less frequent. Pulled in cf somemore to reduce the range. And pull back lf and rf because those are his in game positions I think.

    • @matthewbless3335
      @matthewbless3335 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@harper-leightonscott4566 you're certainly right, but as a counter though... I kinda feel like it wouldn't be a FD video without a comically bad stadium creation 🤣
