    I have been a seamstress for 40 years and you are really good at envisioning what you want. I would recommend that you remember to make tops longer in the front than in the back to insure a better fit for your front. We are bigger in the front than the back.

    Very cute items! I love how upcycling makes you really think creatively to use what you have, like using your straightener. I recently made an 18th century children's gown and made the large sleeve flounces from the crotch of a pair of pants!

    What a terrific idea, using your hair straighteners to iron flat the seams. How much easier is that than setting up an iron and ironing board?? I also love the fact that you show the mistakes you make; it saves us from doing the same. Great flips too....my favourite was number one!

    • @WellLoved

    On the top you made from the scarf, those edge pieces you made are called facings, not lining. Lining would cover the while inside, it's basically a second whole garment. A facing is when it just finishes an edge like a neckline or armhole. Good job on the facing, it makes a nice clean finish.

    • @WellLoved
      @WellLoved  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol I noticed that I was calling it lining about halfway through the video and changed over to calling it facing haha thanks!

    In the video you touched on something I was going to comment on re: making clothing for different sizes. Depending on the COVID-19 restrictions in your area, it would be great to see you make clothing that is tailored to fit other people... Perhaps you could use friends or family you're comfortable interacting with that might be a different size than you? Otherwise your shop is only going to cater to an extremely limited range. I would definitely consider buying some of the pieces you've made, but I know none of them would fit me (and I'm not even *that* far off in size -- just different proportions). Edit: regardless -- love the video and watching what you come up with!!

    • @WellLoved
      @WellLoved  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am currently making several flips behind the scenes in various sizes that will be launched with these flips in the videos also. I'm just using the videos to showcase the ones that actually fit me for the ultimate WOW factor! I will have sizes ranging from XS to XL in my drop! Thanks for watching!

  • @lestranged

    Those ties you removed from the top would have made perfect drawstrings for the pants.

    • @WellLoved
      @WellLoved  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the same idea, but they were much thicker than I wanted the drawstrings to be.

    • @WellLoved

      Yes! So usually I do it that way, but since these were elastic waist with a longer crotch and i was trying to conserve fabric, that didn't really matter. happy sewing!

    • @HoleyBeauty

      Crossing the line between cute to extremely annoying. All the years I've been on TH-cam this is the first time I've ever written anything negative so this hasn't been easy for me to tell you this that's how strongly I feel about it
