Hey friend! I am in undergrad and wanting to get into a clinical/counseling PsyD program. My understanding is clinical experience is #1 priority for my resume. Would a behavioral technician job be the best for that? What other jobs/volunteering do you recommend? Also, should I still get research experience or just focus on clinical jobs/volunteering? THANK YOU!!
Hello! It depends on your focus for your career but both should definitely help. You’ll gain clinical experience in your program regardless, but it wouldn’t hurt! I had clinical experience beforehand and I believe it helped. I had no research experience though, something I wish I sought out. Any job or work that works with people with mental health concerns should help. I made a video about my experiences that will shed light on this 🖤 best of luck!
