This happens due to john slowly losing his faith. If you achieve the best ending of chapter 3, it returns to gold, showing that his faith has been renewed.

Half corrupted still, BF Fights with Dearest/Pico against antagonist and gf Antagonist tries a last ditch effort to attack BF, Dearest/Pico prevents. BF now near if not fully re-cooperated, properly saves GF again. little silly ideas
