considering biblically accurate demons are said to be repulsed by any mention of bible verses, especially anything Jesus has said, a demon being able to speak it without noticeably flinching would imply that it’s an INCREDIBLY dangerous one.
holy shit I just got this after listening to this song for ages and seeing this comment multiple times yeah no that is a parallel between both games, I love it never played TBoI but I know the lore
After all, Satan's name before his fall was Lucifer, the Bearer/Bringer of Light. And, to quote from Milton's Paradise Lost; "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven".
This just makes me wish even more that Dogma was the actual definitive final boss of TBOI. It was so perfect, but they deliberately made it very short just to overshadow it with the Ultra Harbingers and Beast fight.
I've always felt like dogma is the true final boss and the whole segment in hell afterwards is more of a sendoff kinda thing but yeah dogma does kinda get overshadowed by it
I like the beast fight but it would’ve been WAY cooler to fight another phase of Dogma instead. It can be argued that Dogma is the only real monster in that game, since thats what brainwashed his mother and what eventually lead to Isaac’s death, having it be the true final boss would’ve been more satisfying.
@@Samookely I personally disagree. The fact that Dogma and Isaac merge after the fight (granting the Dogma item, which is a very beneficial item), the fact that The Beast ending has a bit where Isaac’s mother tucked Isaac to bed after Isaac had said their prayers, and how Christianity gave Isaac a way to visualise their issues all draw to the conclusion that Christianity was not the problem. Faith is not what hurt the Moriah family, but rather zealotry, misinterpretation, parental incompetence, and…well…dogma is what caused it. Christianity has actually helped Isaac in a lot of subtle ways, and The Dogma fight (in my opinion) was a way of Isaac to regain faith in themself. Isaac climbs out of the chest after reading Dad’s Note, now no longer seeing the downfall of everything as their fault, what did cause it? Isaac then does the unthinkable: question if Christianity was the problem. That is The Dogma fight; a perversion of faith, a demonisation of Christianity and how Isaac saw it in that moment. After the fight, Isaac realises that it was not the fault of Christianity and so uses it to colour what did cause it all to happen. The Beast is called that because it (in my opinion) is a homogenisation of the trauma, the mistreatment from mother (hence the dress), the abandonment from father, and the fixation on what is “sinful”, all coloured by revelations 13:1. Dogma is functioning as Isaac’s therapist in a way by letting Isaac visualise The Beast through the holy text. At least, that is my interpretation.

I was liking this video through Phase 1, but once the second phase started I absolutely loved it, mixing the prayers of both Faith and Living in the light song was so cool Also is it weird that TBOI and Faith work together pretty well? Also having the Unspeakable be Dogma but disguised as an angel was genius
Part of me imagines that this wouldn't play over fighting some angel/demon hybrid *This would play over Isaac and John fighting each other,* both so mentally shattered, and yet so against each other ideologically, that they see each other as Dogma and the Unspeakable
Quite a creative interpretation! Though, personally I can't see either character having a reason to fight each other, even if they're two opposing sides of the same coin. Depsite his concerningly derranged imagination, Isaac seems way too timid to ever seriously consider hurting anyone, even a priest; and John Ward... well, I don't think he'd want to actually fight a child, lol. Either way - the fact this remix makes you think like this is super flattering, and it's always interesting to hear what people have to say about it. ^^
Embodiment of religious corruption, maybe, but not Christianity. Dogma is literally the False Prophet of Revelation with the modern spin of televangelist preachers and people who twist the true word of God to their own ends.
@m0n5a80 Indeed! And it reflects the fact that hypocrisy is one of the worst sins one can commit. Even the name is a clue, as dogma means an idea that is forcefully imposed on others. In all, it beautifully and hauntingly matches with the idea of the False Prophet and Satan's nature as a fallen angel of light.
My god, the amount of effort put into this is astounding. This is incredible, excellent work to everybody involved for putting together two of some of my favorite games favorite songs. I am absolutely blown away by this. I really hope the algorithm picks this up and gets it to the popularity that it deserves, cause holy crap.
9:36 Sweet lord, this moment hits SO fucking hard. The song overall is such a perfect blend of the more moody, dire low-fi tones from FAITH and not just the frantic and overbearing nature of Rebirth, but the pulse-pounding and catchy "homegrown newgrounds artist" instrumentation of The Binding of Isaac's original release as well.
I don't love these sorts of comments, and I've not played FAITH so apologies if I've missed the point, but- this sort of makes me think of a game that pits, like, a misinterpreted/harmful Christianity (a la Isaac) versus someone trying to use it for actual good. Maybe it'd be kind of Mandela Catalogue style with a false prophet representing a kind of "american conservative jesus" while the player character tries to work with a modern adaptation/preach with the actual commands of Jesus of Nazareth? I dunno, just spitballing... I'm not religious so I'd mishandle it comically but I like the sound of it. Regardless. Terrific remix, time to listen to it 100 times (:
To give some context for you, FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is a game with a pro-Christian story - in my opinion, it's one of (if not) the BEST Christian story to have come out of present-day media. Without spoiling too much, the game is basically about a cowardly priest with deep trauma and a slowly dwindling faith overcoming his fears, beating the odds and defeating one of the greatest evils to have ever emerged with nothing but a crucifix and his belief in the Lord. That's a really gross summarization, but it's *so good,* it's a game I believe in so much that I've bought it for several friends of mine, including stoat (this video's editor). The Binding Of Isaac, of course, is about how institutionalized religion can have a negative effect on people's childhoods, or even be permanently traumatizing in the worst of cases. So, combining these two narratives together for a video, you get... well, yeah, something very similar to the inner story of the Mandela Catalogue, lol. Something like, evil and Satanic influences infect the church, giving bastardized, false teachings to its followers (like Issac's mom) through television broadcasts, and Isaac comes to that realization, trying to rationalize what the true teachings of Christ are versus what's being taught to the masses. Something like that anyway... At the end of the day, this is me spitballing, and the video isn't supposed to be THAT deep. It was made to show my music to the world first and foremost, with the inner meanings coming second, and on that note, I'm glad you enjoy the music regardless. ^^
I imagine that in this universe (Assuming it takes place in FAITH), Isaac manages to survive his childhood from his father coming back one last time to check on Isaac, only to find him suffocating to death inside his toy chest. After getting him to the hospital and getting custody and allat, Isaac spends his time playing with his toys, but also with a bit of fascination with the bible. Many years, possibly decades later, Isaac returns to his mother’s home, to confront the snake in angel’s light, the twisted aberration of religion that caused his near death. Dogma.
Isaac if he managed to survive i can see him growing up after several years going back to his home to face the demon that tortured him and ripped his family apart to finally put an end to it all.

I was liking this video through Phase 1, but once the second phase started I absolutely loved it, mixing the prayers of both Faith and Living in the light song was so cool
Also is it weird that TBOI and Faith work together pretty well?
Also having the Unspeakable be Dogma but disguised as an angel was genius
Part of me imagines that this wouldn't play over fighting some angel/demon hybrid
*This would play over Isaac and John fighting each other,* both so mentally shattered, and yet so against each other ideologically, that they see each other as Dogma and the Unspeakable
@@PuristTheSpecterjust a reminder that Issac kills his own mother and climbs into her corpse
@@dylanwrigley6081 I thought the canon ending was that he suffocated to death inside his toy chest?
But yeah, fair enough
@@danolantern6030 hey if he imagined it like that kinda implies he'd do it
Most games: our final boss is a big guy with big sword with cool magic
Isaac: yeah you gotta fight the embodiment of christianity good luck :D
Embodiment of religious corruption, maybe, but not Christianity. Dogma is literally the False Prophet of Revelation with the modern spin of televangelist preachers and people who twist the true word of God to their own ends.
@@nightperson1012 BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT!
@@nightperson1012 Honestly what an amazing concept.
Fantatism, dogma is the embodiment of fanatism
My god, the amount of effort put into this is astounding. This is incredible, excellent work to everybody involved for putting together two of some of my favorite games favorite songs. I am absolutely blown away by this. I really hope the algorithm picks this up and gets it to the popularity that it deserves, cause holy crap.
The drop in Phase 2 after it says "SUFFER" goes so hard
This is the ultimate CROSSover, and total benger. Incredible work
9:04 - 9:26 best part for me, i love the beat here
this is the video that got me into the binding of issac lol
"What do I do lord?"
8:02
C O R R U P T T H E M A L L
Yes father 👱🔪
8:52 I love how the angel's wings fall in time with the music.
incredibly based crossover
10:51 Phase 2 (Organ Grinder)
This part just feels sad because it sounds like Isaac is praying to God and the thing in the tv is mocking Him.
"Dogma, The Demon Of Heaven"
9:36
Sweet lord, this moment hits SO fucking hard.
The song overall is such a perfect blend of the more moody, dire low-fi tones from FAITH and not just the frantic and overbearing nature of Rebirth, but the pulse-pounding and catchy "homegrown newgrounds artist" instrumentation of The Binding of Isaac's original release as well.
i want this on spotify so badly. inspired a whole new cristian myth themed call of cuthulhu campaign
I've been listening to this on loop for several days now, this is so good!!
This is the sickest thing I've seen in FOREVER, the MALPHAS/ASTEROTH in the beginning was such a banger
How is this not popular???
Yesterday i completed FAITH for the "damnatio memoriae" ending and it hit me even harder when i realized its similarity to HOME in mood
you and iamthestoat killed this. amazing work
“I have the body of a pig!” Dude sounds so :D (happy) saying that
I don't love these sorts of comments, and I've not played FAITH so apologies if I've missed the point, but- this sort of makes me think of a game that pits, like, a misinterpreted/harmful Christianity (a la Isaac) versus someone trying to use it for actual good.
A collab between Faith and Isaac is genius. They perfectly fit each other! Well done! I love this so much!
Isaac we love you...
RAUUUUUUUUGHHHHHG THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL YOU DESERVE EVERY AWARD EVER AND A MILLION DOLLARS
A remix between a pair of games I never knew I needed until now.
Keep up the good work, mate! 👍
I literally cannot describe how much I fucking love this
Help. This song invaded my dreams; i may be in danger
[GARY LOVES YOU].
BUT IF WE WALK IN THE LIGHT AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT
AS GOD IS IN THE LIGHT
BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT
IMPURITY, LUST, AND EVIL DESIRES
I would LOVE for a reskin of dogma like this as a mod!!! Plus the beat slaps
Dogma.
beating dogma with reskined finger is crazy
This is awesome, this flavor of religious imagery is my favorite
to be fair, congrats on 100k (for now) this song hits so hard WE love it
Behold bird beak demon
the loop button isnt enough, i need this printed onto my soul
im sure theres some kind of ritual for doing that lmao
Isaac if he managed to survive i can see him growing up after several years going back to his home to face the demon that tortured him and ripped his family apart to finally put an end to it all.
What
it could be the alternate universe where Child protective services ends up taking Isaac away from his abusive mother
The Vatican would not approve what he’d do
that animation is absolute fire
Corrupt, you are been illuminated time for the living of my faith. Starting now
"Im going to kill some demons"

"Isaaaaaac"
FAITH is literally some game developers taking the 4th boss from splatterhouse, and making it into an entire game with atari graphics.
this goes insanely fucking hard i hope you understand i literally started floating
