will never forget this game. i remember running around my house that night, waking up my whole family to watch the finale of this game. definitely in my top 10
That stadium does not sound like it only held 30,000 people. On that night, in the desperation of the crowd for their team to pull off the upset, it sounded like more than double that amount.
As a Reno Nevada local I attended that game when I was 10 and got to meet Colin Kaepernick. I still have my signed jersey from him that day. Great memories...
I live about a mile from the stadium they played in. I had no tickets to get in but you could hear the noise from my house. Glad it was on T.V. What a game!
@@tidmarshXCHe likely gets tackled short of the end zone with no time left if that happens. By catching it like he did, it allowed Brotzman time to kick the game winner (which he did make)!
U have to give Boise St a lot of credit. Boise St started as a Junior College program, then moved up to Division-2, got there taste on Division-1 in (2001), never let up the gas peddle since, 9-W.A.C. Football Titles, 2-0 in BCS appearances, moved up to Mountain West Conference. Next season "Big East". Junior College--Division-2,--W.A.C.-- to Mountain West Conference--2013-- Big East...only thing there are "always gonna be haters", well Boise St. Play only 1-top notch Big School. DON't matter
I think i was the only 15 year old high school freshman FROM Boise to storm the field during this victory! I can still see myself running! 😂 I eventually made it to the UNR flag and got to wave it! Both my dad and 2 sisters are UNR alumni, this was senior day for my oldest sister.
Hands down the best game I have ever seen and the best Pack win in school history. Kaepernick was absolutely amazing in this game and the entire Nevada team was loaded with talent and guys who ended up playing on Sundays. Nevada 4 Life! I love the Pack!
Hit the pause button exactly when Young hits the turf. He's clearly not in the center of the field (where FG was eventually attempted). Hash marks are 40ft between the two rows, so I estimate the ball should have been spotted 10 ft to the left of where they spotted it. That's a big difference for a kicker with a head case. Thought maybe there was a rule change I missed that the ball should be centered for FG attempts. I'm a Boise State fan but if you can't stop the running game you lose.
I'm a Cali Boy Visiting my brother in a bar in Reno Nevada and we're Watching This CRAZY Game. Classic College Game one I'll Never Forget... 5 months later MY 49ers draft a Quarterback named Colin Kaepernick from Nevada in the 2 round. CRAZY.....🤯🤯🤯
this is still beautiful to me. Boise State is not a true university or a real football program. Idaho hates Californians EXCEPT for when they play on their football team.
If that was an Oregon or an Alabama that game would of been put away a long time ago like 2nd quarter and they wouldn't allow a comeback so maybe get to know your stuff first you dumb ass
Is there any way to get this game on dvd or somethin? I've been watching college football for the longest time and I gotta say this is one of the best games I've ever seen...
I like the reaction from that Boise State fan on the left @ 2:26-2:27 after the first miss field goal...his face reaction was like "did he just really missed that". LOL
Everyone that say that kick wasn't good probably wasn't at the game, or at an angle that it looked good, or where a Boise fan and don't want to admit that there kicker chocked. I was there right behind the post I watched that ball miss.
@walleyeguy109 actually about oklahoma, theres a funny story about boise state and them, its called Fiesta Bowl 2007, and BSU would LOVE to play any of these teams, problem is, they wouldnt schedule us, there too scared, if anyone of these teams came calling up, BSU would say yes in a heartbeat
There's a saying that goes "after a loss, you can easily identify the fans who know nothing about the game...the only people they ever blame are the refs and the QB" thanks for proving once again how true that statement is and before you say anything I couldn't give 2 shits about either of these teams
I know you shouldn't blame just the kicker in big losses, but in this case, it's hard not to. That incredible pass that BSU did near the end of regulation only to be botched at the end by Brotzman, then blowing the game-winning field goal AGAIN in overtime... Yeah, Kyle Brotzman single-handedly lost this game for Boise State, ruining what may very well have been their only chance to play for the national championship. That wasn't enough for BSU's all-time leading scorer? Barring the 2017 National Championship game between Alabama and Georgia, this is the worst choke job in college football, ever.
Boise state is a great team. but they have some issues. Their running game is kinda mediocre and their defense against the run is also not the greatest. Also their kicking issues still seem to haunt the team even after kyle brontzman. but the fact remains kyle holds the record for the highest points in NCAA division1 football
This game was lost by the stupid hometown refs. Boise State had this game won. There was a freaking bull crap call against Boise on a punt. Boise punted, a Nevada player never called for a fair catch, the Boise player recovered the fumble and scored a TD, but it was called back
Good game, bull shit officiating in the 4th quarter. They called a BULLSHIT kick/catch interference call against the Broncos, and they also called a BULLSHIT illegal batting of the ball call on the Broncos. As the ref was making that illegal batting of the ball call he hesitated, and because of that everyone knew that he knew that he shouldn't be making that call
I remember at the time wondering why the ball was spotted almost dead center for Brozman's kick with :02 left. Young's catch was only a couple of yards inside the hash but the officials spotted the ball almost dead center. Anyone know why that would be? Nevada deserved the win anyway, as Boise couldn't stop Nevada's running game.
Actually i was. But if you Nevada fans want to hang on 1 win against Boise. Then Congratulations. In recent 12 years. Dont get me wrong you guys beat us. But Nevada has some catching up to do before 1 win makes you feel like a million bucks...
UCF doesnt play anyone. They would lose a couple games even with Boises schedule this year. There only non conference power 5 was north carolina and it got cancelled. Its laughable. I understand the argument against Boise State now.

Boise St. has been on the winning and losing ends of two of my all-time favorite college football games... Boise St.-Oklahoma and Boise St.-Nevada...
Jim Harbaugh seen something with CK,,,,
He was a great player in college long before this game. But no one paid attention because he played in the same conference with Moore.

Why do people hate Boise State? I have never been able to answer that question for the past
For some reason, that 1st BSU field goal attempt looked like it was good @ 2:15.
Is it me, or am I seeing things?? Lol
It was good. Nevada had shorter field goal posts, too. Had they had the longer ones, I think it would have counted from the refs view.
and people think Kellen Moore hasn't got a strong arm. Decent clutch throw at the end.
but did he win the game no so therfore he is not a clutch player ! which is why he hasnt played a single down in the nfl
Your comment makes no sense. His throw put them in a winning position...the kicker lost the game.

If I can recall right, wasn't there some kind of pet detective movie starring Jim Carey that was based on the story of the Boise State kicker?
Stopping the run game was their problem last year as well. Now that I watch it again it seems as though all the field goals where from the center.
What's the chant at 00:18? I went to Sam Boyd Stadium yesterday to see Rebels vs Wolf Pack and you chanted it at every 1st down.
Colin Kaepernick was great in this game. One of those great performances like cam newton vs Alabama in 2010.
