  • Will Hunting, a janitor at M.I.T., has a gift for mathematics, but needs help from a psychologist to find direction in his life.
William Sidis, Author and Professor - IQ 250-300
In 1909, William Sidis broke the record for the youngest person ever to be accepted into Harvard University. He was eleven years old.
Sidis would go on to write “The Animate and the Inanimate,” about thermodynamics and the origins of life. He is said to have spoken 25 languages, and at one point he even invented his own.
If the claims about him are true, he may have had the highest IQ ever. Critics propose that 254 was actually just the place where he fell in the ranking on the exam.

There was a lad at my school who was a genius, a very unstable one! He had a notorious temper and could be violent. He passed his exams effortlessly. I remember I played table football in a team game, he was attacking and I was defending. The teams who played the table were so good the balls went in the goal at an estimated ninety mph! For one full minute this guy waited to strike and when he did I saved it. He gave me such a venomous look that I didn't bother to save any more. At our school the chess cup was taken seriously. This guy learned how to play chess in a week and got into the finals. A friend of mine played against him, clearly losing the game he took the rooks pawn with his queen checking the castled king. All the guy had to do was take the queen to win, but for some strange reason he thought the queen was guarded and moved his king away. They were playing the game in one of the chemistry labs. When he found out what he had done he badly damaged a lot of equipment in there.
He ended up as a farm laborer. He clearly could have had a fine career in anything he wanted, but he was content to live and work as a laborer. So this film reminds me of him. There is nothing wrong in choosing to be a janitor. It is an individual choice. I think it more disturbing when others are manipulative and think they know what is best for someone, rather than leaving it for the individual to decide for themselves.
