This movie is phenomenal. Despite sadly passing away so young, he still lives on. Charities, awards and others have been named in his honor. His award is arguably the best just behind the Heisman. Those to win the Burlesworth Trophy include: Baker Mayfield, Luke Falk, Stetson Bennett, and JJ Watt

    • @benscoles5085

I believe you are mistaken by saying ''His award is arguably the best just behind the Heisman''. those that win the Heisman, use the talent they have to win it, the BURLSWORTH is won by those that have the guts nerve wherewithal to achieve the near impossible with out all that natural talent, scholarships, and a team begging for them to ''come play for us''

Brandon is an inspiration to all of us. He went from walk-on, to All American. He never quit. Now, there is a national trophy after his name, and an organization called Burls kids. Where less fortunate kids get into the games for free. He will never be forgotten at the university of Arkansas.

I’ve been fat my entire life. Since elementary school, always being called the fat kid or getting dissed by girls for being fat and just made fun of. I had friends and good friends at that. Everyone knew me but they also knew me as the kid who’s always been fat. Well I started my journey to lose this weight & become healthy. After 25 years of being on this planet. It’s time I made this change. & as corny as this sounds this movie inspired me to do so. I may not join the NFL but at least I’ll live a longer life than what I was going too. Thank you Brandon 💯

Just wanted to tell you that losing weight will not solve all your problems. I got bullied for being fat all my life mostly by my father. I finally lost 135 lbs naturally as an adult and he found something else to bully me about. Then I started getting bullied by other women for taking care of myself and being more physically attractive. Some of my “friends”even stopped hanging out with me because they didn’t want me around their bfs/husbands anymore. I had always been the “safe” fat friend. Then you deal with shallow people that would never even talk to you if you were fat start actually acknowledging your presence….It never ends….people will always find something.

    What a great movie 💯 💯
The interesting fact about this movie is that it's based on the true story of Brandon Burlsworth, a college football player who walked on to the University of Arkansas football team and eventually became an All-American offensive lineman. Tragically, Burlsworth's life was cut short when he died in a car accident just days after being drafted into the NFL.

I thought it was a sad movie only because I already knew the ending..... Plus, I don't think the narrator has ever seen a football game in his life ;)

Matthew 11:28 come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. As well as Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God (Jesus who died on the cross for our sins) is eternal life. As long as you put your faith and trust in Him.

This may be my favorite movie of all time. His story is such an inspiration and truly embodies the scripture that the Lord works in mysterious ways. Why would God allow this man to come from nothing and through hard work, faith, and perseverance achieve everything he ever dreamed of doing only to die so young?
Only God knows the answers to such questions and His ways are surely not ours. We see dimly in our present reality but one day i truly believe we will see all as it should. This movie inspires us to hold firm to our Faith in Christ and to never give up on something that God Himself lit the fire in our belly to accomplish.
While Brandon passing away so young and at the peak of what we perceive as life is truly tragic and heartbreaking theres no telling how many people his life as a testimony will reach and change the lives of countless others before its all said and done.
Im sure Brandon knew this when he steppped into eternity and into the loving arms of our Lord and was welcomed in with the words "well done good and faithful servant. " For it is to His glory that we are called to live and Brandon sure in the heck showed us how it is supposed to be done.
I would consider it an honor to one day embrace him as a brother when its my time to go home to my Father in heaven.
