Automatics are the *_most_* reliable because they require zero electrical input, unlike eco drive watches. I have both, however if you drop me on a desert island with only one watch, the smart choice is the mechanical timepiece. By the way, an eco drive not only uses a battery it is also a quartz movement.
@@PETERJOHN101 Nothing wrong with a quartz movement. Almost every major high end watch brand has used quartz movements at some point.
