I have owned a eco drive watch for nearly 30 years, the best watch I ever owned. I also own 2 Rolex which I never use and only have in case I need money in an emergency.
I love my 8140 have had it for 10 years still looks like new not a scratch on the sapphire crystal. Only problem it's ever had was the battery went dead during the pandemic because I didn't leave the house for 6 months. Put it under a lamp for 12 hours and it was back to life time reset by radio signal and everything was normal again.
Please can you tell us the watch in the thumbnail !!! Where did you get the image? I assume it is a concept. If so, from where? Alt least give your viewers that much as it does not appear in the video.

No.2 has a depth guage needle and last dive depth reading.That was not mentioned by the COMPUTER VOICE OVER.Over all CITIZEN do make quality watches they are accurate and look really nice.
Thats the problem with G Shoks. Too complicated to go from standard time to daylight savings time. Too complicated to make any time adjustments. Some tech geeks love it, but I want a tough durable watch without needing a PhD from MIT to use it.

You own Bulova and put a smooth seconds hand on my Precisionist, why are you using ticking seconds on these watches? Many of the watches shown in this video I would seriously consider if they had a smooth seconds hand. There is no way I would put a ticking seconds on my wrist.

You need a mechanical watch for sweeping hands. Eco drive is a quartz watch. If you want accuracy and a true sweeping hand you need a grand seiko spring drive. Absolutely the best movement.
@@christopher2206 Quartz movements are far more accurate than mechanical/automatic wind movements. Any Citizen Eco-Drive or Seiko Solar Drive will have a +/- second deviation per month less than a mechanical does per day, even a Grand cannot match it, and you are kidding yourself if you think it can.
@@christopher2206 no look at bulova precisionist. Its got a wonderful smooth sweep yet its got a quartz movement. Very accurate. The only thing keeping me from buying one is their size.

If u buy the aqualand promaster: Don't get the blue and red one! If you dive, u won't see shit. Its a pure desk diver. I bought the black and yellow one.
I've had mine 10 years the only issue was during the pandemic when i didn't leave the house for 6 months. 1 day in the sunshine will charge it. If you have a large collection of watches it could be an issue you'd probably need to keep it on a windowsill but that is a problem that is inherent in all rechargeable batteries..

Alarm doesnt work. Ive had this nearly 20 years and in that time its been on my wrist about a month total and there were several stretches of 2-3 years where it sat in a drawer. Im ordering a new capacitor and while i dont need a watch this one is beautiful, small so it fits my wrist, all titanium chrono with alarm and in excellent condition with just light wear on the gold contrasting finish on the titanium band. Case and crystal are flawless. So its a keeper.

So, some Ad genius at Citizen commissions a Commercial with a blasted landscape and a fallen Statue of Liberty protruding from the wreckage. There is a black , sort of gleaming Humanoid figure digging around in the ruins, and it get's all excited about something it had found. Others close in to see what is so exciting, and it happens to be a Citizen Watch. Caption ? "Some things are worth saving". What an unmitigated disaster.

Looking at a cellphone to know the time is like a step back to wristwatches which were used before the first World War. Also, no cellphone has an atomic clock. They get their time from the cell network. And, yes, nobody needs a 1,000m dive watch, still they are being made, not only by Citizen. Nobody needs a car with more than 100hp either. Still people are driving 300hp SUVs with a weight of 2 tons. Look at the 1,000 m diver watch as the "SUV of wristwatches".
The phones go obsolete before the watches, you get a new phone each season. To tell the time, easier to look at wrist than dig in your pocket. If you're with people, it I rude to pull up your phone and look at the time, they don't know you're checking time, could be you're talking to someone else.

Problem with eco drive is if you dont charge it regularly the battery goes bad.
In almost every instance the battery can be recharged in direct light even it appears to be dead.
I've had mine 10 years the only issue was during the pandemic when i didn't leave the house for 6 months. 1 day in the sunshine will charge it.
