    Before I shared this recipe, I tested if it will last long up to 5 days in a refrigerator. And all of their taste, texture and fragrance were perfectly fine! :-)

      awesome idea! i tried it a long time ago and I had to microwave it at work with hot water in it to get it hot enough. I will have to try your version soon!

      i thought ramen noodles loose their quality and texture five minutes after cooking, and ramen shops won't even have take out because the noodles will be ruined.

    • @bughuddle
      @bughuddle 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      bc they serve it with the water added!! the water sitting will degrade the noodles yes. But this you add the boiling water right before you eat to cook it when you want it!! so they will stay crisp until you finish cooking!!

    i like to use glass noodle (vermicelli). I use chicken base, a little oyster sauce, a little fish sauce, a some sukiyaki sauce. i eat with shrimp, cabbage, green onion, and cilatro. I always have spicy, so i have chilies too. VERY spicy. sometime i make with lemon, lemongrass, basil, oyster sauce, and basil. not sukiyaki. thai cook here.

      @clumsyNico 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh, they do have L, technically. It's just that in Korean L and R are the same "letter" (ㄹ) and is just pronounced differently depending on the "surrounding" sounds and the individual word. Like, I'm pretty sure they say "Lamyon" and not "Ramyon" in Korean (= ramen). Getting L and R confused in other languages like English is pretty common when the words starts with those letters.

    These look awesome! Super important also, to know that you do *not* want to put boiling water in a refrigerator-chilled glass container. When very cold glass gets heated up very quickly, it WILL shatter. So be careful!

    You're my fave TH-camr/chef! I make homemade ramen for my hubby to take to work during the winter a lot. He doesn't have access to hot water, but he does have a microwave at work. So I'll have the broth, cooked meat, and veggies in a food storage container. The noodles are cooked, cooled, and put in a separate container. He'll put the cooked noodles in after the broth mixture (and cover w/ the lid) is done heating. It warms up the noodles in 1-2 minutes, and it's yumminess!

      Tiffany Felkner add processed cheese right after its cooked and it should melt sightly on top. Don't mix it, eat some if it before mixing the cheese into the soup. Try it and let me know!!

      if you want similiar to shin ramyun taste, try to find some korean red paste/gochujang and korean soy paste (brown one, forgot the name), mix it with garlic, soy sauce, salt& p, chicken pepper etc

    • @LJ-tl5fe
      @LJ-tl5fe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doenjang is basically Korean miso. You can also buy ssamjang (I hit the jackpot and found loads reduced to 50p a tub in a Chinese supermarket) is doenjang mixed with gochujang plus some crunchy bits in it that I think are peanut. Obviously it's meant for ssambap (lettuce rice wraps) but I love adding a teaspoon to my ramen :)

    • @mikepellerin4611
      @mikepellerin4611 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tiffany, I love Shin Ramyun also. Doenjang and Gochujang are both found in Asian markets, but if you don't have one near Ebay, Amazon or Hmart.com have them. If you are leaning towards Shin Ramyun Black, then you would need the addition of Beef Bone Broth. The powdered form can be found on both Ebay and Amazon. Happy cooking! :)

      If you use doenjang take care with the quantities because is stronger and saltier than miso.

    • @tanyabriggs8969
      @tanyabriggs8969 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      PLZ don't try pressure canning this. Don't risk botulism. IF not processed, then your safe. Processed in Oxygen free environment (pressure canning) you risk fatal results. I've canned for 50+ years...and I would NEVER eat anything like this but do make homemade soups following specific rules. Stick to recipes approved by local county extension offices or mason jar books.

      If you flavor the protein used, it won't be bland at all, and you can add multiple seasonings if you want to, these are just basic versions that people can start working with.

    best DIY cup ramen video. I love ramen but it's not healthy so I don't eat it as much. Then I found DIY videos on TH-cam but they are set recipes but didn't explain the components to help you build your own. thank you!!!!

    I just made a batch of the spicy miso...SO GOOD. I'm very Southern USA American, so I was a little cautious, but I liked the restaurant versions of spicy miso.
    I just had a jar of it on my lunch break and it was delicious and filling. Thank you so much for the idea!

    My favorite variation I've made so far (it's a spicy miso with shrimp and krab):
    - 1/4 tsp Dashi Stock Powder
    - 1/4 tsp Gochujang Powder
    - 1/4 tsp Chili Garlic Sauce
    - 1/2 tsp Japanese Chicken Stock Powder
    - 1/2 tsp White Miso Paste
    - 1/2 tsp Red Miso Paste
    - 1 cup Egg Noodles (al dente)
    - Baby Bok Choy (half a leaf per jar)
    - Shredded Carrot (less is more)
    - Shitake Mushrooms (less is more)
    - 1.5 oz Shrimp (cooked, deveined, tail off)
    - 1.5 oz Krab (chunked works best, avoid shredded as it's too small and ends up disappearing into the broth)
    - 1 stock Green Onion (chopped, whites up to greens)
    - 1/2 Clove of Garlic (minced)
    - 1 cup Boiling Water
    I've found it's best to mix the base and tare in a small, separate container. Just mix the powders/miso paste together and add about a Tbsp of boiling water then mix until combined. When ready to cook the jar-o-ramen, add hot water to the jar then dump the base/tare in on top and give it a shake. This prevents the bok choy or any other vegetables from soaking up the base/tare and becoming too salty.

    Great recipes, and as a note I found that putting the seasonings in last make it much easier to mix all the ingredients together when I add the hot water :)
