I started with 5k and went up to 7K the week after. This made it easier to take it up to 10k. I started exploring my neighbourhood more and I’m at 21K after 3 weeks. It’s gotten easier to tackle everyday stresses because if I can walk for 2-3 hours in the morning and still be alive, I can literally do anything 😊

    Summary:
Divide your steps into 3 groups of 30 mins. You can spread them out throughout the day as per your convenience.
1st 30 mins session: The productivity Block. Try to get stuff done while walking. Eg, getting a walking pad and getting your steps in while checking your emails, taking meetings, etc.
2nd 30 mins session: The Errand Run. Plan your errands in a way where you can do them while walking. Going to get groceries, for instance.
3rd 30 mins session: The Night Cap. Get your steps at night, either before or after dinner. It's great for digestion, and a good way to catch up on your hobbies like listening to music, watching a movie, hanging out with friends, etc.

You are correct that 10,000 steps was a marketing tool. Research has shown that 8,000 steps will help change your body and improve your health (along with a good diet, of course), and you only need 5,000 steps to maintain your current health and body shape.
Your advice is great to break it down in 3 30-minute sessions. Another secret is to break down some of the sessions into 10-minute walking sessions if you don’t have 3 30-minute blocks. It’s a quick walk during a work coffee break, or a walk session during a lunch break.

If you MUST watch TV, Pace during commercials. When you are waiting for the water to boil for your tea. Pace. I walk around our kitchen island for this. When cooking, If you normally are just standing there, Pace back and forth as you wait for things to cook. When the weather is tolerable, Go to a park and walk the walking paths. Vacuum, I know it is not the most FUN thing, But think of it as a more home-bound full-body workout. You get steps in, an arm workout, and a vacuumed floor in the process. There have been times after I have vacuumed the whole house that I KNOW why Grandmom was so thin.

I love this video, but my one caveat is that the thumbnail you used highly implies walking is what turned your before to your after, however you clearly show in the video those very same images were from a 90 minute lymphatic massage. it's definitely misleading! everything else is great, but I believe this should be changed

I’ve been wanting to purchase a walking pad, but I don’t have the space for it right now. I’ve been wanting to start sunset walks after dinner too. I’ll have to meal prep and bring dinner with me to the park though since there aren’t safe parks and walkable areas where I reside.

**crazy you posted this cause I LITERALLY was thinking about this these past few days❤** I’m at 2k trying to ramp it up to 5k on the journey to 10k like I was hitting pre-covid! Haven’t watched all the way but my cheat code was to walk around big malls!
edit: oop just heard you mention the mall 😊 seriously forcing myself to get out and about in the world daily did WONDERS for me when I was working from home. I just love your vids i swear it’s like talking to myself sometimes ☺️

I dream about this walking mill but here in Brazil is too expensive, so besides the morning exercise before work, at the end of afternoon I walk with my mom, it's good because that way she also benefits

Spread the walks throughout the day. Move every hour for 10- 15mins. Especially after meals.

I do family time at the YMCA. I just get so proud of my hubby and my 18 year old. Then as a family we go searching for a healthy dinner afterwards. I would love a gym bar once my baby is 21 though lol.

I am trying to make my way up to 10K steps right now i am starting with 5. I live in an area that is not walkable and on top of that its a desert community so its super hot. I am trying to find ways to walk on the treadmill at my home gym while working the 9-5 and strength training at a gym. But I know as long as I make time it will happen.

Me too as a 9-5 girlie I decided to burn 650 calories 4tikes a week it worked but when I stopped the weight came back immediately. It easy for me to exercise on days that I am going to work. This time I decided to change my diet and I wake up and hour early to exercise before taking a shower to work. I decided to increase my walking to 5X a week. I want to look sexy 😂❤

I love going on walks. Now that I work at a desk job I don’t get in much movement at all. I want to do sunrise and sunset walk to start and end my day well.

It’s more walkable in Dallas proper, than where I am, Richardson. I had to leave at 6:45 this morning just so I could walk before it hits 90° this morning!
When I was in London, I got soooo many steps in, even with my multiple chronic back issues
