I used to drive 1k miles from pa to my mom's in Kansas. I don't think she's the one feeling rushed. NOMI!! Your bandanas will get you in a heck of a lot of trouble down here!!! I recommend NOT wearing them, especially since you don't know the area. The wrong color will make you a target. Be careful stay safe

I love historical architecture. The buildings were beautifully built. Speaking of those stairs, I learned very recently that in the 18th and 19th centuries, falling down the steps was a very common cause of death and injury. Not only were they built very steep, but the steps themselves weren't always uniform or the same size, making it much easier to trip and fall down.

We have the 2nd largest St. Patty's Day celebration in the U.S. happening in Savannah in a few days. Savannah will be jammed packed with visitors and some of them come in town early. That may be why it was so much foot traffic downtown. I was so excited when you said Savannah! I was raised there.
One way to eat “naturally” in a van is to sprout! I call my sprouts my little mini van garden. I sprout mung beans, radish seeds, and broccoli seeds. I put them on salads or in my smoothie but they’re also good to throw in stirfry‘s or on a sandwich. You can find lots of information online. 🥦

Located just off Franklin Square near City Market stands First African Baptist Church, the oldest black church in North America. Built by enslaved Africans, it was organized in 1773. It's right next to the Doubletree's parking lot. There's a statue dedicated to Haitians who helped to fight a war which I can't recall. Continue to have fun.
That is the beach I suggested. It’s a beautiful beach and once upon a time, before Hurricane Hugo it was less developed. They’ve developed the town more since my last visit in 2011. I noticed you crossed over the Santee Bridge. Another beautiful and historic area would be The Battery in Charleston. If you have time or on another visit to SC go to Hilton Head and go on The Gullah tour. So much history there!

I’m not a minimalist at all, and have way too much stuff to do this permanently (going to aim for a 2 week RV trip this year lol)😂. Yep, it's my dream too but, like you, I have too much stuff and want to keep a home to go back to. But maybe travel and live out of an RV or van part-time sounds like a happy middle ground for me.

You’re going to love the West. I lived in Nevada for 2 years and it was a great part of my life. I favor the West, but I live in a beach town in Jersey. If you want a magical beach, get to Ocracoke Island. The entire Outer Banks is gorgeous but Hatteras and Ocracoke are my special favorites. That's where I found Jesus - wedged between a heartbreak and the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen in my life.

Hey Nomi! The beach was intimate but beautiful in North Carolina. I believe that may have been a board walk that you passed by under, it gave that extra detail on the beach. You know, I love beaches and the water also, but I never learned to swim. I have learned to appreciate them from a far. Savannah Georgia was just as breathtaking as you entered the state. Those palm trees were amazing! Those stairs were a freight!😮

We are expecting about 100,000 - 150,000 visitors over the weekend. If you want to do a Farmers Market it will be at Daffin Park this weekend from 9-1. Also, check out 2 Gullah Geechee Chefs on MLk near 37th for some good food, also Nairobi featured in many movies(Habersham St. near 37th)-Excellent breakfast. Open container if you drink goes from MLk to Harry S. Truman pkwy and Victory Dr. to the River St. Finally, for the beach you have Tybee Island about 30n- 1 hr from downtown depending on where you are. Very relaxing. Make sure you visit the gulf coast of Florida. The sand is like powder and the water is blue unlike the Atlantic.
We lived in Savannah Ga for 8 years in the 90’s. The food is delicious and the Cobble stone, historic areas, and beaches are nice.😊
Savannah is my favorite city on earth. Be sure to visit the turtle sanctuary on Jekyll Island!

When you are on a slope, elevate the end of your bed that slopes with a folded blanket or rolled up towels to adjust for the slope.

You’re going to love the West. I lived in Nevada for 2 years and it was a great part of my life. I favor the West, but I live in a beach town in Jersey. I’m a strange mix of city girl, desert girl, and ocean girl. I love it all. Go West, young woman!! You will NOT be disappointed. It should be a lovely ride from Florida!!!

Love Savannah! Great food, Great History. That’s why bridge is so high allows barges to go under. 🤗. Wish you ventured out more on food so much other options then just pizza and sandwiches.
Savannah is the joint! The Marriott is where I’ve stayed the couple of times I’ve been. I always had an absolute blast!
If you want a magical beach, get to Ocracoke Island. The entire Outer Banks is gorgeous but Hatteras and Ocracoke are my special favorites. That's where I found Jesus - wedged between a heartbreak and the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen in my life.

The beach was intimate but beautiful in North Carolina. I believe that may have been a board walk that you passed by under, it gave that extra detail on the beach.
You know, I love beaches and the water also, but I never learned to swim. I have learned to appreciate them from a far.
Savannah Georgia was just as breathtaking as you entered the state. Those palm trees were amazing! Those stairs were a freight!😮
You in my city. So happy you made it here. This is St. Patrick’s week, so if you come downtown please, please be careful where you park. We are expecting about 100,000 - 150,000 visitors over the weekend. If you want to do a Farmers Market it will be at Daffin Park this weekend from 9-1. Also, check out 2 Gullah Geechee Chefs on MLk near 37th for some good food, also Nairobi featured in many movies(Habersham St. near 37th)-Excellent breakfast. Open container if you drink goes from MLk to Harry S. Truman pkwy and Victory Dr. to the River St.
Finally, for the beach you have Tybee Island about 30n- 1 hr from downtown depending on where you are. Very relaxing.

Yes to the West! Be sure and put northern New Mexico on your list, especially the Taos area. Incredible beautiful scenic drives, delicious food and not a lot of people. The Land of Enchantment❤❤❤
