Been divorced for 30 years, have dated a couple of times but you know I'm 60 and love being by myself, but I also don't care to be around a lot of people. I didn't know ticks were around in 60 degree weather! Must be humid there. It's a beautiful area. You're braver than I am, hiking and running alone. I used to be braver but after a couple of very bad experiences, I'm now much more cautious. I love solitude though, but from the safety of my home, fenced in yard and shady porch. Solitude for me means being surrounded by my 4 dogs and 1 cat, all enjoying our yard and each other. I love trees and my yard is loaded with them. Being alone is when we do our best thinking, reading and praying. Solitude is a luxury. You can feel lonely with a partner who doesn't click with you like you need or even being in a group of people. Learning to be your own best friend in Solitude is a gift that only you can give to yourself. God bless you Nomi, in Jesus's name, Amen.
I'm a bit of a loner myself. I have always enjoyed time alone a great deal and I could spend a week or more without seeing anyone I know. I was fortunate to meet someone else who also appreciated alone time. We do things together and share our lives together, but we understand when the other wants to be alone and we often sit in different places in the house and do whatever, or go and do independent activities or whatever. Once I had children though that was over, but I still find some time for myself! The joy I get from my children is worth it but as they get older, I do love getting my alone time back!
I like your videos. I was glad to hear you’re thinking about when you get older too. Partnering after the age of 50 can be a challenge as you get more “set in your ways.” The main thing I think is important is to make plans for how you wish to handle life when you are less able to take care of yourself due to aging. I come from a country where everyone has a strong sense of community. Most people are extremely friendly, they truly embrace everyone, and you feel accepted. You don't feel alone and people are always willing to help you with any situation. Here in the States, unfortunately, mostly everyone has the view of me first, me second, and so forth. It's become so normalized that this type of loneliness is seeing as normal. Sad.
Scientific evidence shows that isolation causes physical and mental diseases. Also, loneliness has recently been identified as a global epidemic, not limited to the U. S..... I love being alone, but I also realize my need for socialization. It's just that these days, I find it difficult to know whom to trust. Just yesterday, I heard that the former U.S. Surgeon General likened isolation( and loneliness) to smoking 5 packs daily! I like to balance my times of aloneness with some human connection, although, for the past few years, I have tried to justify wanting to be alone. I am concerned that this young lady may suffer adverse long-term effects of isolation, although I admire her. 💙

Short distances in the beginning tho, it'll hurt you but strengthen your ankles and calves (coming from a former lifeguard on the beaches at Camp Lejeune). Be safe and stay strong.....❤

I have watched your videos for a little over six months I think. I like the way they are more conversational than most you tube videos. I also like how you slowly progressed from living in your car and working to save some more and then got your van and started to have small adventures. I have been interested with the nomadic life since2018. That is when I retired from the Navy. I too am an introvert, probably a bit more than most, where being alone 95 percent of the time is fine with me. As you stated there are small instances where I wish I could turn to someone and say, that is beautiful, etc. With that said, I have two dogs and talk to them a lot. Though they don’t talk back, they actually do give me company and allow me to give them love as they give me. Perhaps you need some sort of pet to give you a little more company and fulfillment, not saying that you need it, but its actually nice to have. One thing my dogs do for me is make me get up and do things, even when I do not want to. I feel like I have rambled on. All this to say, I feel like I relate to a lot of what you talk about. For me good company and the one I prefer is the type that listen to you and give you valuable feedback, as well as the kind you can have meaningful conversations with. I feel like the majority of the people that follow you, provide just that, which is nice. Keep the videos coming! Safe travels.

Being by yourself to take time to enjoy yourself and your surroundings is a wonderful privilege. If you are able to enjoy your own company, then you are definitely a healthy minded individual. I enjoy my 'me time' when I can indulge in all my hobbies, arts and crafts. I am never lonely, alone etc. I love being by myself more times than any. Sometimes some people conflict with your interests anyway. You know You want to go here, they want to go there. You want to do this, they want to do that! I understand this. I have a balance though even with someone. I still need some type of space, it’s the introvert in me. I can get overstimulated with a significant other. So it’s healthy to communicate that early if you step into the dating scene just because it helps someone know that boundary. But whenever you do want to have someone and however that is set up I hope it brings extra happiness to you.

😂 no worries😂 somewhere along my lifetime. I decided it was easier to be alone than it was to be with somebody and pissed off all the time; in the long span; I got a dog. 72 years old now.

I have watched your videos for a little over six months I think. I like the way they are more conversational than most you tube videos. I also like how you slowly progressed from living in your car and working to save some more and then got your van and started to have small adventures. I have been interested with the nomadic life since2018. That is when I retired from the Navy. I too am an introvert, probably a bit more than most, where being alone 95 percent of the time is fine with me. As you stated there are small instances where I wish I could turn to someone and say, that is beautiful, etc. With that said, I have two dogs and talk to them a lot. Though they don’t talk back, they actually do give me company and allow me to give them love as they give me. Perhaps you need some sort of pet to give you a little more company and fulfillment, not saying that you need it, but its actually nice to have. One thing my dogs do for me is make me get up and do things, even when I do not want to. I feel like I have rambled on. All this to say, I feel like I relate to a lot of what you talk about. For me good company and the one I prefer is the type that listen to you and give you valuable feedback, as well as the kind you can have meaningful conversations with. I feel like the majority of the people that follow you, provide just that, which is nice. Keep the videos coming! Safe travels.

Being by yourself to take time to enjoy yourself and your surroundings is a wonderful privilege. If you are able to enjoy your own company, then you are definitely a healthy minded individual. I enjoy my 'me time' when I can indulge in all my hobbies, arts and crafts. I am never lonely, alone etc. I love being by myself more times than any. Sometimes some people conflict with your interests anyway. You know You want to go here, they want to go there. You want to do this, they want to do that! I understand this. I have a balance though even with someone. I still need some type of space, it’s the introvert in me. I can get overstimulated with a significant other. So it’s healthy to communicate that early if you step into the dating scene just because it helps someone know that boundary. But whenever you do want to have someone and however that is set up I hope it brings extra happiness to you.

So glad you mentioned that about the steak, cutting it in small pieces and chewing it slowly I know a fire chief, who died from choking on a piece of steak. He was home alone just a tragedy. and your friends in Michigan must’ve thought wow you have changed you’ve shrunk and lost weight and I don’t know if it’s from your voice lessons but I remember at the beginning use to talk with a lisp and that is gone changing growing learning so glad to have you back in Michigan🙌🏻🫶🏻☀️

Nomi! The blueberry container has drain vents in the sides so you can rinse and drain them right in the container. Just found this out!!
Yep. I was wondering why she didn't just run water thru the container. 😊
I never knew that's what the vents are for. I thought they needed ventilation to not go bad in the refrigerator.
Maybe let her do it her way. I'm sure she's not special needs and knows what the holes are for:)
