  • Parker is a small town located in La Paz County, Arizona, United States. It's situated along the Colorado River, and the population is a few thousand residents. Parker is near the border between Arizona and California and is situated along the Colorado River, which forms part of the border between the two states.
The economy of Parker historically has been tied to agriculture, mining, and tourism. The Colorado River attracts visitors for boating, fishing, and other water recreation activities. One of the popular attractions in the area is the Parker Dam, known as the "deepest dam in the world" due to the depth of the bedrock foundation. It was built between 1934 and 1938 to create a reservoir, Lake Havasu, which provides water to nearby areas. Arizona State Route 95 runs through the town, providing the primary means of transportation in and out of the area.
The region is also home to the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation, which is inhabited by members of the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi, and Navajo tribes. There are a few schools in the area that provide educational services to the residents of Parker and surrounding communities.
Parker, like much of southwestern Arizona, experiences a desert climate, with extremely hot summers and mild winters. Annual events like the Parker Tube Float and off-road races attract visitors and participants from around the region.
