I've been vacationing in Parker for over 40 years. We had a family home on the water along the Parker Strip. We lived there for a couple years. The boat races, Tube Float, and Parker 425 are good times.

I have to ask you a question: can you swim in the river there on the Parker strip?
I ask for two reasons: the temperature of the water (I've heard it's very cold) and the boat traffic (this could be dangerous).

@@roydagger Yes you can swim along the Parker Strip. In the winter the water temp. is cold. Some still water ski daily in wet suits. In the summer especially on weekends the boat traffic can be crazy, but you can find a cove to safely get in the water.

Lived in Parker for couple years 2019-2021, from San Diego CA. Loved the laid back, simple life. Thanks for the video

Amazing dose of nostalgia. I lived and worked in Parker the Summer of 1960, staying with my uncle who lived in a rented house 10 miles or so south of town. In the late 1960s, I made several trips from LA for recreation and hang out with the ski boat crowd. Our center of ops was Fox's Landing, a real scene with a hand drawn inscription over the bar saying "Can you dig it at the river".

Did you ever go to the Blue Water Bar?

@@Moondoggy1941 - I don't recall that name. There was another bar that was a hot spot, on the AZ side closer to the dam and well above the river. On my middle of the day visit there, the music was playing and people were going crazy on the dance floor. In those days, Lake Havasu City was not an attraction. From current videos, I can see the scene at the river is pretty much the same as some 60 years later.

I am retired now, my Grandfather in-law owned the Blue Water Bar back in the day, my father in law was born and raised there.
