@@Mr.Thermistor7228 I know crazy news! With all the success in motorsport (rally + nitrorx) recently it seems like such an odd move. I am willing to give the plain 2022 WRX a go, but they are really missing the flare of the STI. Will see what happens with values.
Hyundai are doing great. One thing to be aware of is depreciation will be much worse with a Hyundai compared to Subaru if that matters to anyone. Not sure I can stomach the Elantra looks N looks,. But maybe a Kona N, just it doesn't have manual. Veloster N, my daughter is shooting up in height so back seats small space mean that is not workable really. If only we had the i30 N here.

@@matthewwain9958 it really is man, idk what is going on with them and ive been questioning their direction for awhile now over 5 years for sure. they really could be something incredible, i look at other companies performance cars and how much more power and development they've made, like there are cars out now that come with at least 400hp from the factory and its not even a big deal, alot even 450-500hp and 20 years ago those same cars had lke 150hp lol but what has subaru done to the sti in 20 years?.... FCKING 10 HP!!!! like wtf subaru? they absolutely should have an sti out with minimum 375hp even 400-430hp range. they have had over 20 years and insane amounts of racing experience to be able to develop it but instead they just fucked off their fanbase completely, its such a disappointment. sorry for the rant lmao tough subject for me ive been a fan for so damn long.
dude i absolutely would buy the i30n if we had it here too! its so fucking clean looking i 100% would get it out of all the n models. i also am not a big fan of the elantra either, the kona is cool but not something id buy, i do like the veloster but i just like the i30n so much more lol and dude i would so sit on that 2018 sti!! you legit have a freaking gold mine hahah

The oil got nice and warm towards the end. On constant 'send' mode it might benefit from an external oil cooler; since the temperature dropped the moment you let off, I suspect this just has a simple oil/water heat exchanger.

People always going on about oil temps 🤷‍♂️ Stop using bogo oils if it worries you. I used to use an ester based fully synthetic that was suitable for road use and tested to stay in grade even after 10hrs of circuit racing in heavily turbo charged cars. All I ever did was do an oil change before a track day and put some of the above in and then change it again after a track day if I felt it needed it.

By the end of that lap, it looks like that oil is getting quite hot. I imagine getting a better oil cooling system would be one of the first steps if the car gets taken on track more. Then again I'm not sure how accurate that temp gauge is.

I have the 1st gen i30N, and my oil does not get as hot as this. been driving as hard as Misha in the vid and oiltemps stays around 120-125. Either not enough oil or that new turbo in the facelift version get the oil really hot.

@@kadj79 yeah it's very possible, but I can't help but see it and think that as a track day car your shortening the life span of that engine and the oil that's in it by being that hot. Had the opportunity to try one too: great car, crazy fun to drive, delicious sound from the exhaust… but damn she’s thirsty.
I took the car for a bit of sporty driving in some twisty roads, and over a course of just about 6km the autonomy dropped by more than 30km. In the highway it’s decent, but damn as soon as you step on the pedal the fuel tank gets empty.
Just look at this video, she used more than 100km in range to complete a lap.
