Click up pitch is "you will gain a day per week" will this model of organisation. And it's absolutely true. If you start simple and adding lists as you need it's simple and less overwhelming.
From consuming info on the Notion vs ClickUp topic, the biggest key in making the decision is probably the knowledge base part. If the knowledge base is a very big part of what you want to use the app for, then pick Notion. If organizing things is the priority, pick ClickUp. If none of the two is a priority, you won't regret either of the two and you're probably overthinking
I stopped using Notion because what I need the most is task management, calendars, and time tracking for clients (which is how I just found Clickup!). Also Clickup has a much better interface imo 🙊Notion *is* easy to use, but I find it high maintenance due to lack of automation, no recurring tasks, etc. I think it just depends on the individual needs of the user! Still not sure if Clickup will work for me though, it's too early. Thanks for the video, love your channel!
I found notion a couple of weeks ago, and I can't still find all the tools, but it looks like it has a lot of potential!! Maybe it needs a little bit more simple interface, but I will take a closer look to click up!
It's a damn good database software 🔥 except that for all the features i chose Obsidian.md where among many other things i added notion as an ! Workstation's got a junction 😀
Notion is great for building company wiki, but there are two hang-ups: 1. Speed. It takes too long to create a link from another page. 2. No Offline mode. Notion was down for several hours last month and it caused havoc because there is no offline mode. I would like to have a central command center for my business, and I need it up at all times.
The problem with these new programs is that you can be switching over data from program to program, forever. There will always be something new on the market with another attractive feature. And no program has everything you need. I’ve tried out so many (the downside of following tech channels, haha) and it just takes so.much.time to switch! I will replace Notion only the moment it doesn’t serve my needs anymore. Until that time, if it works, it works. :)
Haha never been this early before. I just wanna say that Mariana, I love you videos and how they give so good insights. I always rely on your channel for good content. Thank you and keep up this good work
Notion is great for using it as a Study Tool... like Note-taking, copy pasting images, Flashcard/toggle system which makes it easier for QnA and less cluttered notes. NOTION SATISFIES MY NEEDS
I will definitely try click up, it looks great and I think it has features that Notion was lacking for me. I like the focus on deadlines and also automation. I’d love to see subscription for students like in Notion
The best alternative to Notion for me so far is Coda. Coda has all the features Notion is lacking. Calendar integrations, buttons, inline functions, charts, automations and much more. It's much more powerful. The only thing I am missing is reminders, but I made a workaround that kind works. I setup an automation that give me a notification with all the tasks I have for the day every day. Coda is so powerful that I build a time tracker that totally replaces Toggl Tracker and I am building a finance tracker that replaces every finance app too. It's really good.
I enjoy watching your video's and love how organized you are. Was happy to see you talking about Clickup, which I am loving so much right now. It is a great program!
I've been using Notion for my personal life and Clickup for my business. The price of Clickup and the teamwork is a lot better than Notion. Personally, I just don't change to Clickup for personal use because my whole life is already there. Clickup is a lot better for collaboration and integrations, but for life in general I think they are even.
I use ClickUp since last year, from the time when Notion had the 1000 limit on the free version. For me ClickUp its very powerful and its easy to use, you have a less learning curve compared to Notion when it comes to set up databases etc, or when you want to have the workspace with the same level of complexity that Thomas Frank and Ali have in theres. I think its a great tool for work with teams, Notion has a limitation on the free version.
So it's 2023 and I'm just now getting into ClickUp (9 months after getting into Notion). This review pretty much sums up my experience, even after all the updates (Notion was on a rampage of new features in 2022, and ClickUp unveiled their next major version, 3.0). Definitely seems to excel in task management, even after the learning curve. But Docs doesn't seem good enough to be my new knowledge base (one major reason being no equivalent for linked databases). Also as good as its free version is, you only get 100 MB of storage, which is next to nothing.
Notion's toggle block is shockingly useful. Didn't think much of it at first, but I use it for LOTS of things now. One of the tricks I learned by accident is that you can throw a toggle block into a table and everything under the toggle will convert to page text in the table entry (if that make sense).
using Clickup ; dating a successful ambitious career woman who owns an empire and drive ferrari using Notion ; dating casual simple humble person Clickup might get you overwhelmed, but it is truly powerful Notion might not as sophisticated as Clickup, but why bother to have the complex one when simple is beautiful & enough I personally use Clickup for Business & Company/ Organization's Project Management, while im using notion to organize my life
I'll try ClickUp since I've been struggling with Notion. It takes me a lot of time to make a setup that works and only sometimes. My workflow has been changing constantly. Also, I don't like to manage tasks with Notion, I usually use a lot of automation and syncing and Notion doesn't give me 'that'. Pretty cool app, but if I need to change it, I'll do it.
I use notion to manage all my work notes (day to day as well as projects) and clickup to manage my task and workflow. Both systems in my opinion are pretty awesome.
ClickUp was the first project manager that I used before I found Notion. I stopped using it because it went out of business. So I moved everything to Notion. I am glad to see that they are back up and running. From what it was in the beginning, ClickUp has come a long way. But even when I was using it in the beginning verse now, it was never as complicated.

I had never heard of clickup but it sounds like it has some really nice features. I really like the simplicity of notion though, and so far I don't feel like I have enough complains about it to be able to justify switching.
I found Notion waaay more complicated to learn and it didn't do all I needed it to do. The juice really wasn't worth the squeeze, so I am ditching it for ClickUp.

Thank you for posting. I am testing out Notion and I have watched a few YT vids to include yours. It is ok so far. I'll try out Clickup since I don't have much invested in Notion. I use Kanban method for personal and Agile for more professional projects. Those live in JIRA. :)
Okay, Clickup seems interesting. I haven't fully adapted to Notion yet, nor tried enough to use Roam, but this new app is definitely going to be explored. I'd like to build a multi app organization system, kinda, I hope this app helps me in some way.
I actually find notion more overwhelming than clickup. I was gonna switch to notion because of the aesthetic designs etc but I think I might stick to clickup for now
Can you tell us how you use Notion to study? I'm also a lawyer (from Brazil) and could not help but notice you use it to make notes. I'm new to Notion and I thought already looking it up that it might be helpful and just when I thought about it I see it in your video.
If you ever find a solution for a WORKING two-way sync between google calendar and ClickUp I'm so so all ears… That was the dream they sold to us, and indeed it doesn't work, it's incredibly flawed. ClickUp says they're planning on creating a new two-way sync from the ground up. We'll se how long that takes though.
I dont consider notion and clickup to be in the same category... clickup looks like its more to devs (instead of trello and a bunch others) and notion more to projects in general

LOVE YOU 💘
TBH, I'm not going to change either. There's not enough of a difference to make me change from my already set up notion.
I feel the same
It allows you to export way more data than Notion does. I prefer to own my data, so that’s a winner for me. There’s also an integration API.
@@mariana-vieira do you feel like having the font format thing at the top felt different? That’s something catching my attention.

I couldn't really put into words why I like Notion more... but you did a really good job of explaining how I feel as well.
