    It's amazing how much quieter the engines have been made over the past 22 years. This actually sounds loud when I compare it with plane spotting from 2020.

    Great plane spotting! I forgot how many airlines there were in the 90's!

    Wow, some wonderful footage and memories here. So many airlines that have gone the way. Trans World, America West, Reno Air, Emery Worldwide, US Airways, North West, Continental... but lots of Delta widgets to keep us old-school spotters happy!

    Those were the good years. The 777 and A320 where already in service, but old 727s and 737s still around. Food onboard, no extra charges, no crazy security.

      i don't agree since new planes came out. If a person from 1990 could time travel in 2023, he would probably prefer new planes

    What a joy to see that gaggle of DC-9s; they really were the workhorses. Reno Air's livery looks especially good on a 9!

    Back when US Airways had the dark blue livery with the pearl white belly!

    • @stevencramsie9172
      @stevencramsie9172 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The belly was light gray, but that was definitely their best paint scheme. One of the best paint schemes ever for an an airline

    • @ChrisZoomER
      @ChrisZoomER 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know it was light grayish. I should’ve said its luster was like that of a pearl, different from the other colors’ luster. But I’d best describe it as a sort of ivory because it was slightly more vibrant than the darker shade of gray used for the flag logo. Regardless, we shouldn’t get too picky about how to describe each color because it was still great. The presence of the airline was part of my childhood, I flew on it a lot with my first ever plane ride being in a US Airways A320 and there were always planes with that livery to and from the nearby PHL even long after it merged with AA. The most frequent plane I saw with it, the Dash 8, almost none of them were repainted before being retired nearly four years after the initial merge!

    What's the story of that BAX Global DC-8 parked over the other side of the runway? Is that the air cargo terminal? I worked on their aircraft at KIAH in 1999 while employed with Integrated Airline Services as a ramp agent, they were one of our many clients. Really enjoyed working on those airplanes!
