    Sir Les was always my favourite of Barry's characters. Absolute genius. Will miss him in this sometimes sad and serious world....

    We saw him in London and physically ached at the end of the show from laughing so much. A genuine comedy genius.

    Wonderful stuff. Keep it coming. I’m a confirmed Barry Humphries fan and I hadn’t seen this clip before. Let’s pull everything out to remember this wonderful Australian gifted comedian and intellect.

    Comedy genius one of my favourite Sir Les lines is he said there's a rumour going round there's no culture down in Australia we'll lm here to tell ya we got it coming out of our arse?? Absolutely spot on Les knowone could have said it better a brilliant mind made him a comedy genius God bless him can you imagine Sir Les at the pearly gates trying to get in laughter is the best medicine and Barry Humphrey's was the master.🙏👁👀😁

    I think deep down many blokes would like to like Les and just enjoy life. Humphries was such an intelligent man and his quick wit was remarkable. It's such a shame that comedians of his calibre have virtually disappeared.. which reminds me...I am overdue finding something to be offended about!! 4

    Struth, its years since I've seen Dame Edna, about 20... and I had no idea the fellow behind that visage was such a comedic giant, there's a true master of his craft if ever there was one, it simmers in every waggle of his lecherous eyebrows, every glance perfectly timed, perfectly punctuated... how typical that is - just as he passes, I realise what he is. Aye, ain't that the way of it?!?

    I remember attending his show in London many years ago. I think the Less Patterson character had just been evolved so when he walked on stage after the interval, and with the house lights still on, nobody recognised him.
    He introduced himself as the Australian Cultural Attaché and it took a while before people realised that it was Barry Humphries. Needless to say he was hilarious. RIP Sir Less.

    The interesting thing about the shows up for the award is that the winner seems to have completely disappeared from the TV listings. The other show turn up regularly on British television despite being rather old.
