    I had this surgery done yesterday, but the hydrocele had grew into my stomach and thigh , so I had to have my stomach drained aswell as the hydrocele around my left testicle, apparently the liquid in my thigh will go on its own , I was out for the count , and woke up an hour later all sorted , I can't thank the hospital staff enough , they really looked after me and I was so greatfull to be in there care , these people deserve so much more for the jobs that they do , I'm now resting with a huge triful and got TH-cam at my fingertip 😊

    Hydrocele has ruined my life for the last year or so. I had surgery in August, 2021. Didn't fully heal until three months later. Went back to my local hospital and was told the hydrocele returned. I had another Hydrocele operation in February, 2022. Bled like a stuck pig one week post-op and wound up in the E.R. There, they started me on antibiotics and the swelling an bleeding improved. I just had a follow-up yesterday and they said I now have a hematoma and they wanted to do surgery to remove it. I said I was not getting my scrotum chopped up again and if there were other non-invasive options. Then the surgeon stated that the hydrocele was gone and that the hematoma would go away slowly over time. Oh, and by the way, I am still bleeding (albeit very mildly) and change my 5x9 bandages three times a day. This is still going on five weeks post-op. My advice to anyone considering this surgery is to expect the worst. It rarely goes as the urologist surgeons claim.

      @@mattm757 I should update....The wound finally closed (about 8 weeks post-op second surgery) and the hematoma finally went away. Back to normal....somewhat. Lots of scar tissue can be uncomfortable at times.

      Just had hydrocele surgery and it's been almost 2 weeks and my testicles are so swollen I can't do anything, I can't walk or stand or sit without serious pain. Don't know why the urologist say avoid activities for a few days like the surgery is a simple thing with hardly no inconvenience

      Woke up in pain. Nice nurse looked after me with some heavy pain killers. Lucky to have private health insurance so stayed a night in the hospital. Did not even need to take the pain meds from day two. Week later was back in the gym. Glad to have the surgery. Three weeks later lifting heavy at gym with no problems.

      @Pie glad to hear you are on the mend. I always knew I had big balls but finallly got dxd via an ultrasound with bilateral hydroceles. Did you have the surgery because they were painful. Curious as to what made you have the surgery? Were they growing? I have nightmares I will turn into that guy on the TLC channel with 300 pound testicles who uses them as a coffee table

      @@robbieb2011 had on one side for over a year. Was only getting slowly larger (doc said about equivalent of a can of coke!) was not overly uncomfortable and had insurance so no out of pocket expenses. Five weeks following surgery and a couple of the disposable stitches are stubborn (still showing) tempted to pull at, actually pulled one out myself. Still not regrets having surgery and good to see ‘the boys’ like new

    • @maxmcrae379
      @maxmcrae379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kennytraylor6798 I'm in New Zealand, so can't help you. But I don't think laser surgery is offer for hydrocelectomy yet.
      But since you were asking, I had a normal surgical procedure done by an experienced urologist here in Auckland, and it was an utter failure. Fluid started to flood my right scrotum almost immediately. Urologist was dumbfounded - said he had never had that happen to him before. Offered me an immediate aspiration, which I accepted. That lasted about a week before fluid started to return. I now have a scrotum that contains at least 200 mls of fluid and is increasing all the time. I don't want another surgical procedure, so I am considering another aspiration as it's getting to the ridiculous stage and I have to do something. Seems these hydroceles are a pain in the balls to cure - figuratively and literally.

    Had a varicolectomy as a teen. Now i think i have a hydrocele. Is it common complication for those who had varicocele procedure? I'm pretty bummed out about it.

    • @alejulimaty
      @alejulimaty ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a varicolectomy as a teen as well, and two weeks ago had a hydrocelectomy done. From what I understand those two are not related at all, just a coincidence. No complications so far, and none associated to the varicolectomy. Recovery has been pretty smooth for these first two weeks, still have the stitches and still a bit swollen but everything's normal. I actually went to a boat party two days after the procedure, which prob wasn't a smart decision, but I wasn't in pain or anything and it didn't affect my recovery.
      Careful with the painkillers!! Those are opioids and highly addictive. I only took them for one day, and I was totally fine with Tylenol after that. Good luck!

    What would you describe as abnormal swelling post surgery? My scortum feels deflated but there is a swollen area above my testicle and I’m getting swollen abdomen somewhat

    • @joshythehand2960

      I just had to have the hydrocelectamy 5 days ago. In my case it was so huge they had to cut the entire lower circumference of my scrotum. It is a gigantic scar thatbi hope goes down. I too have swelling in my lower abdomen. They said even with ice packs it can take a month for the swelling to go completly down. I hope you are not in as much pain as i am. I knew there would be a few weeks of soreness.. but this is extremely painful.. though less painful than the first 2 days. Recovery has been a much harsher process than I expected. And the part that is sewn back together is far larger than expected. Like they had to patchwork my entire scrote back together.

      @@thomazz1976 exactly what I went through. Swollen, sore, and it was my top left side. Like up above my penis. In the final 2 weeks before surgery my hydrocele went into overdrive and I really blew up.. like doubled in size again. So they had to open me way up and "scrape" out everything. I was swollen and sore for 2 weeks.. also black and blue.. but I'm on blood thinners so im.much more prone to bruise than other men.. but after 3 weeks the healing process gets WAY easier the swelling goes away the sorness is just a light itch. It gets a lot better very quickly at that time. Good luck and I hope it really helps. It did me. I'm soooooooo much better
