I think that others could've as well like Goblins glare, The Haunted Car, Beast From The East, Revenge r Us, I'm Your Evil Twin, The Haunted School, Chalk Closet, Broken Dolls, For The Birds, I'm Telling, The Full Harvest Moon, The werewolves First Night Out, and Dr. Horrors House Of Horrors. I think all of the short stories could've made it. If only there were more seasons then 5. But the law suit happened.
I've read that interview article, and with Night of the Dummy, I feel another 2 reasons why it wasn't adapted was because of the logistics of two iconic, and memorable scenes from the book: the puke scene at Kris' performance and Mr. Wood's demise at the end.

It's about a girl whose little sister gets a cursed video of the Christmas special of the same name, and anyone who watches it starts looking and sounding like the titular character Susie Snowflake. The only way to break the spell was to destroy the tape.
It alwasy bugged me that they didn't do Night of the Living Dummy 1. As a kid I didn't know why, as an adult I've learned it's because I have OCD and missing numbers is one of the things that bothers me. So... neat.
There’s a very easy way they could’ve done Night of the Living Dummy 1 in Season 4, after all the other episodes were done: Have it be an Origin Story explaining why TV Slappy looks like Book Mr. Wood. Have the climax of the two-parter be Mr. Wood and Slappy fighting in that area from the book where the bulldozer ran over Mr. Wood, but they _both_ get crushed. And once the kids leave, green fog magic happens, and suddenly, only _one_ dummy is present: Mr. Wood wearing Slappy’s suit. Slappy took over Mr. Wood to rebuild his body.
I would have watched the first Night of the Living Dummy, I would of enjoyed watching Mr Wood and Slappy on screen together.
