Hi creeps! My name is Cameron Chaney. I'm a horror author (see links above for info on my books) and I am also the host of Library Macabre, a BookTube channel focusing on horror, both vintage and new, indie and mainstream. Don't care for horror? No worries! I feature other literary genres on my channel as well. I just love books! You might even see an occasional video about horror films. If it's spooky, I'm here for it. :-)

Such a cozy channel. Every time I have a bad day I just come here, relax and have fun. Even when I go to bed I am watching your videos. The background music is nice.
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you find this a cozy space 😁
@@LibraryMacabreHi Cameron, I had a bit of a unrelated question but hopefully you'll see this and can answer it for me - I've recently been collecting all of the Ghosts of Fear Street series and came to realize that the books I had as a kid all had embossed covers but some of the books I've bought on ebay recently don't have any embossing! Do you know anything about this? They're all first editions, so I don't understand why some have embossing while others do not. I think book #2 doesn't have any version with embossing but I believe every other book upto #27 should have embossed cover art. I could be wrong though, hopefully you know more about this...?
@@achiraashan9988 i can answer that. The unembossed ones are school marker editons.
@@C.O.B.R.A.-tu9dl Thanks! That makes sense. There's still some weirdness going on though - I have two copies of Hide and Shriek with different embossing; one only has the text at the top (GoFS logo and RL Stine) embossed, and the other only has the artwork embossed! (text is flat)
@@achiraashan9988 your welcome!
So❤️frickin'📚beautiful...🤘🏼💯✔️
I can still remember buying Goosebumps books when they came out from Target as a kid. Sadly they all got sold at a garage sale 😅
Oh no! :(
Where were the targets at in the mid 90s?
I regret giving all mine away to a neighbor kid who probably didnt even read them :/ But I bought my 2 most favorite from an Etsy shop. The third Ive had sincr I was a kid and was the only one I didnt give away.
I was OBSESSED w/ goosebumps as a kid. It’s literally all I would watch and talk about 😂 so my dad being the best dad ever bought me 100 of them. He got em for $1 each on eBay lol. I recently went through them and pretty much all of them are first print. How cool 😬 glad to know I’m not the only one that’s still loves goosebumps 😂💯
Goosebumps rules! So nice of your dad to do that. :D
Happy birthday!🎉
I wasn’t allowed to read Goosebumps or Fear Street growing up, now in my 30s I’m reading them to let my inner child know what I missed out on😁
I'm glad you get to live that important piece of childhood now as an adult! :D
Let’s Get Invisible was my first ever Goosebumps book when I was in 5th grade. It still holds a special place in my heart.
Cameron coming through with entertainment AND education?!? A true king of booktube
I do my best! 😅😂
I love seeing the pictures of Cameron in the 90s with Goosebumps books! Totally reminds me of that old meme of the girl in the 90s saying "Ehrmagerd! Gersebermps Berks!"
the way these book covers and color pallets take me wayyyyyy back to my childhood and bookfairs!
Cam, have you watched the new Goosebumps series yet?
@@MyNameIsShaunnn I watched the first episode, but it just didn’t feel like goosebumps to me. :(
Love the shirt. Ghost Beach was always my favorite. Definitely my favorite cover as well.
Thank you!!
I've been collecting goosebumps books since I was 5
Loved hearing your insight and memories on the original series
What an awesome Goosebumps collection Cam- it really takes me back to my childhood in the 90's. This was one of my favourite series of books growing up.
Thanks for explaining how to spot the first edition. Turns out I have quite a few of them. Say Cheese and Die being the oldest. I’m a little older so I remember when the abominable snowman from Pasadena being about where I lost interest but the covers are so amazing. Jacobus’s illustrations and the color schemes with the textured lettering is just perfection. The scholastic marketing team was amazing.
I would just like to say you have revived my love for Goosebumps and just saying thank you. I’ve got 17 of the books all OG prints except for my Night of the living Dummy
I'm glad I could help spark your love for Goosebumps again! :D
This video came out so awesome!!! I love your lighting, and the commercials were so FUN! Amazing video, creep! Loved seeing your updated collection 🤩
Thank you, Kelsi!! I’m glad you like the lighting and all the commercials. I’m already looking forward to making more of these and including more commercials!
We need an updated Fear Street collection as well! You're great
It’s coming!!! ;)
Finally someone cares for half price books
And I have on of those Gareth Stevens goosebumps books I have the stay out of the basement one
I really wanted the say cheese and die one
I literally JUST posted about the difference between first printings and first editions on my Facebook goosebumps group “Goosebumps fans 3.0” like yesterday! And how to tell the difference between true editions and Indian reprints! Love your videos
Such a fun and cool video! I remember checking out Goosbumps books at my local library when I was a kid! Great memories! 😊💚
Love the video!!! I see we share the same 1st print with inserts!!!🤘🏻
This was fun to watch, thank you. A Goosebumps reading vlog sounds like a fun idea.
You taught me how to see what edition book I have for every book! Thank you so much for this!!! I should have been more patient and not impulsive of buying stuff on eBay.
Hey creep! Currently recollecting to original 62 myself, thank you for the useful info! Goosebumps is what brought me to your channel originally and I’ve been watching a bunch ever since 😊
Can't get enough of the Goosebumps goodness. I love the "I hate it! I hate it!" cutaways.😂
😂😂😂
i've loved watching your videos in recent weeks! Thank you, Cameron.
Thank you for watching! This season has been a blast to work on. :)
I still remember , i was in 8th standard and i started watching Goosebumps Tv series and loved it
One day me and my dad went to our nearest mall and on a Shelf i saw a Goosebumps books for SALE and got so excited coz i didn’t know there are goosebumps books also , i begged to my dad with my puppy eyes to buy one of them and he agreed and i chose THE GHOST CAMP from the ORIGINALS.. My classmates used to copy me and they also started bringing their goosebumps books to the class to show me, that was kinda hilarious but at that time i felt great😂
I read and started buying other goosebumps books , i know Goosebumps are kinda goofy and weird sometimes but still after graduating from a College whenever i want to feel nostalgic , i buy one goosebumps book coz i love Horror books and i read ton
Goosebumps is like a part of our childhood and Thank you Cameron for this Nostalgic ride , loved the lightings and mid commercials❤
Great video Cam! Brought back some great memories I had with these books. Thank you! ❤
Love these videos
The nostalgia I had with each book you showed us!
Thank you, Bobby! I was feeling very nostalgic just pulling these off my shelves :)
I read these as a kid and loved them and last year started picking them up. The ones I am missing from the set are mostly all the later releases. The popularity died and they were printing as many. So as you said… hard to come by. Great collection. I am envious.
I subscribed the literal second I seen your Goosebumps commercial cut. Premium content right there!
@@krisalbert8078 thank you so much!! Gotta love those old school commercials 🙌👻
it's great to see your collection grow! Very excited for more! I am slowly trying to build up my collection. Resellers are just nostalgia highway menthough
Great collection! I mostly have reprints from the 90s, I prefer them because they don't have the small text on the front cover.
A great video! I have been collecting these 62 also for about two years having read them as a kid. I have all the ones you mentioned here like the decals, trading cards all except first print of the holy grail ; Welcome to dead house. One thing that I noticed you didnt mention that you might find interesting is about the haunted school. I have a book copy that is very rare and is a Thick version. This was a scholastic book fair that had many typos in the book including typo of the next upcoming book as I want to be a werewolf instead of werewolf skin! Look into it you might want to add that to your awesome collection.
Love this content, even though I don't collect Goosebumps (I collect Arkham House), because it shows a true collector's passion!
Thank you for forgiving me for scribbling on your Goosebumps book! I don’t think I could have gone on. Needed this closure 🥲
Now you can proceed with life 🤣🤣🤣
EDIT: But I still don’t forgive you for the goldfish thing… So yeah. 😂
Woohoo! A brand new Cameron Chaney vid??? And on Diwali too??? Oh today's gonna be a good day! 😅 Awesome video as per usual Cameron, much love from Trinidad 🇹🇹
Happy Diwali! Thanks for watching, Ronaldo!
Now I know which editions I have! Thanks for those tips!!
Being a little kid in the late 90s early 2000s starting to learn to read and write with dyslexia I never got into the books but I loved the TV show and now im older im getting into the books and the fear street books so thanks for the awesome Goosebumps and first Street knowledge from a newbie to the books.
My pleasure! I'm glad you're getting into reading them. It's never too late!
I have the whole series in first edition, Norwegian edition that is. I read a lot before Goosebumps but it was Goosebumps that thought me how special reading moments could be.❤
I for sure had that night of the living dummy book that came in the scholastic club pack. I had forgotten all about those packs.
Dude this is all awesome! I still have 4 first prints from the 90s that I'll never sell. 🤙👍👍
Hello me again I just want to say I have been supporting for 5 years also cool collection
Thank you for all the years of support! 😁☺️
I actually have the say cheese and die 2 copy with the bookmark and cards. But the cards fall out when I open the book but the bookmark was still in there so I kept a hold of those cards
Nice!! 😃
Hey Creep!🎃I cannot describe how much I adore this video. Love that you found TV Goosebumps ads and inserted them throughout... Keep up the amazing content Cameron!
Aww, thank you!! It was a lot of extra work to download those commercials, but totally worth it!
FANTSTIC video.
I was never into reading. Funny enough, I remember reading several fairy tales very early in my life. Then, when I was between 8 or 9 read a Winnite the Pooh book. After that, random comics every now and then when I was in my teens. In my Sophomore year I found several of the Goosebumps books at my English teacher classroom and read them all. Loved them.
...after that it was the Harry Potter books. Since then, I barely read books. I´m into comic books (DC) and some mangas. Have read the Song of Fire and Ice books and that´s about it...oh, and IT.
Still, I really like watching/knowing about other people´s collections. More so when there are books and into themes.
So glad you own that collection.
Fabulous collection! I would LOVE it if you made a video with tips and things to look out for. As a new collector I must admit I fell for "first printing" thing...
They can be tricky on eBay! I’m glad to help. 😁
I can listen to Cameron talk about almost anything
Great video, Cameron! I've been reacquainting myself with your channel as I start up collecting again (VHS horror, in my case) & feeling inspired by your collections & set-up! I absolutely love the Goosebumps commercials interspersed in here too, what a blast! 🎃
Thanks for coming back and watching! I hope to do a VHS collection soon, so that may interest you. :)
@@LibraryMacabre that would be fantastic, I would be very, very interested. 📼 Looking forward to Old School April on the channel!
i love the books
The best books!
Excellent collection vid!
Thank you!!
Hey dude! So I have always owned 1-62 since I was as young as 8. I will be pulling these out of storage today and I will go through them and see if I have any first prints!
Goosebumps books got me into horror with Night Of The Living Dummy being the first one I read, becoming my all time favorite.
Thanks for the info! I’m frantically trying to price some old copies in time for a convention booth tomorrow and Ebay was a doozy on misinformation. I can’t believe how many people didn’t have first editions but were trying to sell them as if they were. Hoping to run into some fellow collectors tomorrow that are looking to complete their library 😊
Good luck at the convention! Yes, eBay sellers are terrible about trying to pass off Goosebumps books as first printings when they're not. It's very frustrating to think other collectors have been duped by them.
Great video! You should give us a list of the books you are needing replacements of. I have like 6 half price books around me that I rotate my way through. It would be no problem to keep an eye out for you. I’m sure others watching would be willing to do the same.
Awesome collection 🎃
Thank you!
Man, this is nostalgic even for a brit XD I still remember when goosebumps exploded, every school embracing it and almost SHOVING the books at us.. Still want the escape from horrorland game to this day lol.
It was a great time in our history! 😂
Totally insane how difficult it is to find later books in the Goosebumps series 😭 I'm still missing #54, #57 - #62
I actually went on an eBay spree the past month and bought 1-56. The last 6 are much more expensive. Since I don’t really have nostalgia for the last 20 anyway I stopped there.
I just completed my set of the original 62 first edition books. Been reading one each night
Woohoo! Congratulations! Great idea to read one a night.
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VIDEO. IT SHOWS YOU PUT A LOT OF WORK MAKING IT
Thank you! It definitely took a lot of work and many hours. I try! haha
Amazing collection!! And great tips for buying!
Thank you, Katrina!! 😁
Cameron, I loved your video and wanted to suggest a video just from the Nightmare Hall series by Diane Hoh! 😉😉
Yes!! I still need to do that. I’ll try to get to that before the year is through :)
Stay Out Of The Basement Was My First Goosebumps Book And I Didn’t Know What Goosebumps Was Until I Got The Book.
Ah the nostalgia!
I relate so much to your story about being late to the goosebumps fan club 😂 I thought the same thing as a kid but I was in the 2000s so I was super late 😂
Hahaha Yeah, this was like 1999 for me and I was still late 😂
Hey, creep!
Really enjoy your goosebumps review’s/collection
Keep on creepin’
🔥
Thank you!! I'm hoping to film my Give Yourself Goosebumps collection soon. :)
You look like u were having such a great time. Picking up ACH very soon. Cannot wait.
I always have fun while shopping for books! 😁 I hope you enjoy ACH! Thanks for picking it up ☺️
Grew up with alot of the books even the orginals even though I was born In 2004 my local library had almost all of the books
Used to order these right through scholastics as a kid and still have man y of the first editions, usually 1st-3rd printings
Let my friend talk me into donating my collection to a library because he wanted to impress a girl in high school. Thought nothing of it at the time, feels real bad now :(
I love your videos especially the Goosebumps ones. Have you seen the new show?
Great video!
Thank you!!
This was a fun video
I believe “ beast from the east” was my first goosebumps book. So much fun.
Great video!
Thank you!!
Also do a goosebumps series 2000 collection remake soon please 🙏 ❤
It’s up on my channel now! :)
I actually just finished Beast from the East (I loved it). They do actually end up making it out. It foreshadows that in the very beginning of the book.
Oh, for some reason I remembered there being a different twist at the end. Hmm. Guess I’m due for a reread.
I was really lucky to have found werewolf skin with the mask in good shape and the last monster blood at the goodwill for 2.50 each.
Recently found your channel and have watched your videos non stop, feel so relaxed watching these videos and I’m so impressed with your goosebumps collection 😍 I’m a long way off completing mine but I am trying 😊 also do you ever collect any of the FNAF books? Love your channel 😊
I have a really thin copy of a Baby-Sitters Club book-Stacey’s Big Crush. I figured it was probably a book club kind of situation, but I’m glad to have a better idea of where it came from.
It's a pretty cool thing! I had a blast going through that Scholastic pack.
what got me into goosebumps as a kid were the halloween costumes I saw on the front Target ad newspaper. I wanted the Slappy costume so obsessed with it but I never got it. Original covers are always better though. My first book I owned was Vampire Breath.
Those costumes rocked! I had the Haunted Mask voice changer mask, so I went as Carly Beth one year. Good times!
Awesome! You need to also do an updated fear street collection! ❤
It's coming soon! :D
@@LibraryMacabre Awesome!!!!!
LETS GO!!!!!
💜🎵💜
[Goosebumps commercial]
Cameron: Welcome bac ...
[Real TH-cam commercial]
Oh my gosh 🤣 I deliberately try to avoid that but ads always seem to pop up at random points either way. Very frustrating.
Just checked my collection, not sure about some of them, but I do know I have a slappy world escape from shudder mansion first edition. Nowhere near as rare as the original 62, but I’ll take it. Now that I think of it, I did get all of my slappy world books the day they released, so I probably have every first edition slappy world book. Don’t really know how to judge them though, as the aforementioned ones I’m not sure about are reprints, so all of the information differs. The number line does have a 1, but it’s not at the end of it, it’s at the start of the book rather than the end, etc…
It’s the 90’s, your parents give you $10 bucks to spend at the little book fair in your schools library and you walk up on the shelves with crisp, glossy, and creepy but cool covers that have the title Goosebumps written on the header…your choice to pick just one becomes so difficult but you go for the scariest title and picture you see..placing on your shelf later on to just marvel at all of the other titles but not wanting to damage the spine or its gorgeous colorful cover you pick up a book that you bought and think to yourself as you run your fingers across the letters, “buyer beware, you’re in for a scare”
i love this channel 😁😁😁
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! ☺️😊
I actually have a first printing first edition of The Girl Who Cried Monster with the sticker announcing the bookmark (Sadly no bookmark though) and to my knowledge, the Goosebumps wiki states that that is how you know if it is a true first printing first edition
Giddy up 👍
I just thrifted a RL fear street book it's actually good and it's giving nostalgia, hope to buy some more to read for October 🎃 I remember reading them in school , I couldn't wait for library day I still remember how the bookshelf looked , they weren't super tall and we had tables in the middle were we wud sit and wait for everyone to pick a book , then we'd sit in the carpet and they wud read a book to us
30:47 The Creeps kinda remind me of the Raptors from Jurassic Park.
I liked the endless quest books , they’re out of print now
You should do a ranking of all 62 originals if you haven’t already!
Great idea!!
My favourites are welcome to deadhouse, Headless ghost, Ghost beach etc
Where did you get that Ghost Beach shirt? Looks awesome!
I've been on the hunt for nearly 2 years. For how many they sold they are rather hard to find
It’s shocking that a series so successful can become so rare :(
You know the cover of Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes? I wonder if there are any actual lawn gnomes that were made based on Jocobis' art work. Those would liven up your front yard.
I don't know, but I'd totally buy them! hahaha
I have the majority of the OG 62 but oh my god the later ones are so hard to find😂 50-62 especially are a pain in the ass to find in good condition for good price
They’re sooo hard to find! I’m wishing you the best of luck. :)
Thanks bro
