There was one time when doing practice maneuvers, I (for some God known reason), started saying “boots n pants n boots n pants n boots n pants….”…… And my CFI just started rapping with the flow, saying what to try next, tips on what to perfect, and how to get the feel of it all……. All while never breaking rhythm… While none of the maneuvers were perfectly on the money that day, it was the most relaxed lesson I ever had, and the next time up, I pretty much nailed everything because I wasn’t nervous in the slightest.
First of all Lewis, thanks for sharing both videos...I am currently in this situation...Have passed my oral, and then failed my flying portion...long story short!!! Yes I did some stupid mistakes(I was very nervous)... My CFI told me now he has to be tougher on me. Yesterday had my first session with him after I failed, and he really sounded like a drill sergeant !! After that flight, I was not sure if I want to finish my check ride...I felt more unsecured! I am not sure if this is the correct approach of a CFI, to add additional pressure ! I am at that point to change the CFI even if its for the next 2-3 sessions before I re-take my check ride!!
Did they expand the runway at Orlando north? I seem to recall that with only 2500', you had to put it precisely on the numbers, and could only safely do full stops (rather than T+Gs), but now it seems you're able to do T+Gs without a problem, even when you float the landing a little as some of these were.
Hey lewis! I loved the video but wanted to ask, the video after 9:47 starts to lag with the sound and picture or is that just my crap connection hahaha!
I tried watching thr movie 3x.. and could not get it to actually sync sound after the 60% mark. When casting to tv, the way i always watch the videos Went and watched it on my computer and it did the same thing. Lewis, are you having some technical difficulties over there?
I’ve noticed that you seem to be wearing the Lightspeed Delta Zulus in more of your vids. I’ve just purchased the new A30s and I’m wondering if I’ve made the wrong decision ?? I watched your comparison Video and you were pretty neutral against the Bose but does this mean you do actually prefer the Lightspeeds ??
The Lightspeed’s are more comfortable for clamping force on my head than A20’s. I’ve not tested out any A30’s while flying so can’t comment on their comfort level but I don’t think you made a wrong decision. You can’t go wrong either way really.
honestly, watching both "cfi videos" have made me so much more grateful for my own CFI, I really hit the jackpot getting him as a teacher

It's listed as 4000' on Airnav.
I was doing touch and go's on a Narrow 2100' runway. Now if I did not get it near the numbers or I floated extra long, I would do a full stop.
