It will stay there if done slowly but yes will detach. But the point is it will ensure pencil does not fall. I lost my first pencil because it’s not secured and the new Apple Pencil pro fell down once.
@@markwilliamson9069 It does not stay there strong enough for you to use your iPad m4 along with it. It falls off if you give a slight jerk to the iPad m4. But I noticed it stays a bit firmer than the older iPad.
@@markwilliamson9069 your welcome. The idea is the pencil stays secure along with the keyboard. If you are removing the iPad then better the remove the holder as well

Does the holder easily slide sideways (or up/down, depending on orientation) when attached in between the magic keyboard and iPad?
In my experience it does not slide easily and requires little force.
Do you happen to have a combo touch keypad to test with? I'd like to get one, but i don't have the magic keyboard. Only the combo touch.
No I don’t have the combo. But combo seems to have a little recess so the Apple Pencil is a bit more secure, isn’t it?

Wow $65 for a little bit of plastic, thats crazy but unfortunately seems like our only option. Boo apple for not giving us a spot to put the pencil
