I think that the "everyone's island is bigher than mine" issue is also due to not knowing anyone else's island as much as you do yours, you know exactly what comes next on your island but you're still discovering those of others

I have a movie theater in the basement, but still waiting on a screen! I have an indoor pool room / bathroom too and it's super cool with the white botanical wall + standard pine wood floor 😊

I agree! But I just mapped out this massive estate idea that gives each islander 8 fruit trees, a 5x5 flower patch, bush walkway and a little yard decor space. It ended up taking up more than an acre and I'm like holy smokes I don't have this kind of space. But... it's such a cute idea so I'm torn.
@@LadyOzma compromise, remove the trees and leave the rest or remove plant plots and leave the rest or remove the huge yards or don't and leave it. Don't think I helped ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
going to harvey's island really helps you design interiors because you can use any furniture you've ever had & you can customize things too without actually wasting your kits. it's really nice to be able to do that & it's very helpful in putting a room together bc you can visually play around with walls, floors & furniture.
Same I legit use Harv’s island as a practice to design my home. It’s super helpful since you get unlimited supply of stuff you already have so you can also plan out how much your interior home would cost in terms of furniture and wallpaper. And whenever I get a bunch of new stuff I go back to Harv’s island and see where I can fit them for my future home. All rooms for my home interior design is pretty much settled in Harv’s studio so I’m finishing up my island itself first while I wait for my debt to be paid so I can get enough rooms.
I do that but by using the (happy home designer button) [aka down arrow on the left control ]. You can move items right from your storage to wherever you would like. When you're in your storage screen, press left controller down arrow button and You'll be amazed what you can do with it. Even press 'Y' button to return items directly to your storage. Bypasses taking up pocket space. Sorry if I made it more confusing.
@@bleebleeblahblah yeah that's true, but with harvey you can change colors of furniture without wasting kits if you decide on something different & you can use furniture, walls, floors, etc. that you don't actually have in storage. so you can play around with everything you've ever gotten, not just what you have stored in your inventory.
I'd also like to answer the question of "why is everyone's islands look bigger than mine" based on my experience First, is the effect of familiarity. Think about it. you live in your own island long enough to know everything about it, and every nook and cranny (excuse the pun) about it. Whereas visiting someone else's island, it's not familiar to you. It's an undiscovered land waiting to be seen. Heck. you'd even get lost in it sometimes. And let's not forget that anyone's island is constantly changing, which means more means of discovery. Hence why it feels larger. Another answer is the way you navigate throughout someone else's island. To me at least, an island feels larger because of the long winding paths I get to walk on some people's islands. It takes longer to go through the whole thing unlike, say, an island with-say-grid shaped roads, which seems easy and predictable to navigate. Those are my two cents, at least. Keep up the good work man!

I love these videos. Thank you for making them. One thing I did in my kitchen, since I also dont have the counter tops yet but wanted it to look put together, was I used a chest of drawers as a countertop and a end table with books and flipped it backwards. It creates that illusion until I get the countertops and sink I want.
The custom fabric that Sable gives you works with more than just DIY’s. You can customize plenty of furniture items, such as Hammock’s, lamp shades, zen cushions, etc. Theres definitely are a lot of items that can’t be customized, but better safe than sorry to just check and see
Just wanted to say thank you. After 20 years or so of my friends trying to get me to play video games, this is the one they caught me on. I’ve been talking to sable for about twenty days and I have ten pages of patterns, she hasn’t given me any for a few days now so that might be the cap?
Thank you so much for your videos! Your tips and suggestions have helped me create what I envisioned for my island. I truly couldn't have done it without you.
For my back-beach where Redd is located, I made a secret walkway that is hard to access unless you know where to look. It’s a windy path that is wedged in between 2 cliffs and can’t be seen while strolling naturally. Even if you are ontop of the cliffs. Since Redd sells black market paintings, I made the route to his place really hard to find for others.
I love that! I also put a small hedge labyrinth in front of the cliff opening that leads to his beach (though it is very easy bc i did not have too much space lol)
I started talking to Sable every day as soon as the shop opened! In Wild World she does a similar thing where she gives more backstory about her, her family, and her friendship with Tom Nook when they were kids, the more you talk to her. Ever since that game I always talk to her every day!
Ah yes and he’s not so far ahead like most you tubers that time travel so it’s nice to have one of the high ones among us common people 😂😂 I can keep up the pace
A friend from Sweden taught me a great trick last night. If you're visiting someone's island and see something you like just ask them to drop the item for you to pick up. Once you have it in your inventory you'll automatically be able to purchase it from your Nook Stop ATM. Then you just have to return the item and go home to buy it! I highly advise you only do this with people you trust though.
When I saw other people’s islands, I wondered the SAME EXACT thing! So a week ago I cut down all my trees (except the fruits ones and some normal ones for materials) and it opened up so much. I was able to have a semi blank canvas to work on!! So if you’re up for it, cut down some of your trees and replant new ones once you start having a design in mind. I’m finally making design progress 😭😭😭😭😭👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Just wanted to give some ideas for the person who asked for room suggestions: magic room, board game room, arcade, bar, ballroom, cosplay/closet room (one of my friends has this), music room, tea room, sewing/craft room, spa, restaurant/cafe (perfect for if you have more than one account playing on an island), office, library, school, flower/plant shop, space room, castle, baby room/nursery (idk, if you into that??), zodiac rooms, bamboo grove (my bf made his basement into a bamboo cave), mediation room, gym, pet/animal room, science lab, trophy room, an additional bedroom, themed room (just specific rooms based on holiday/collection items?), weapon/armor room, diner., etc. There's tons of things you can try, but it may be easiest to just go through the items in your catalog and thinks of themes that can go with stuff you've collected before. For example, I never planned on having a art room until I got the painter's set and the cartoonist set. I put out some blank qr codes on easels and paint splatters on the floor and just added other crafty items (like the clay modeling stuff, some pots). For a while I didn't have a lot of storage space so I put all the clothes I didn't wear on the walls of one room and added the loom, and sewing machines to make some sort of sewing room. Just have fun, it's not like you have to keep it that way forever!

I used a few of your ideas to create a café and spruce up my campsite area with the Pocket Camp items and I finally hit 5 stars yesterday so thank you! 😊
I would love to see a video of tips on how to easily plan out house placement. I didn't think about house placement when first started so now I have start from scratch (so to speak).
I have an idea!! With the rooms in your house, you could have a craft room. Like put workbenches in there, and materials, and other cool things. Or you could have a game room with a tv and a couch and snacks. And also a guest room. If there is a surplus of ideas for rooms or for furniture, make a second account and build cool stuff in that house too!
P sure the reason we find other people’s islands bigger than our own is because unexplored areas tend to feel bigger/take longer to explore in general. we don’t know when it will end. When you are familiar with the area you have a better perception of how long it takes to go through it. Not to mention, on island tours you walk through each area much slower and take more time paying attention to the surroundings, so touring the island takes more time and focus, and thus feels more big and impressive. It’s a psychological thing, but good island layouts can definitely add on top of it (just like how the layout in IKEA are designed to make you take more time to go through every section etc)
it took almost two weeks but i got the patterns and am very happy! every day she gives me more it's so sweet! their dialogue is also the cutest and now my favourite part of the day.
A video on night time themes and ideas would be really cool. I’ve got ideas for an arcade/night area but the application isn’t coming together. Thanks!
I wish I knew about Redd from the very beginning because my house is literally on the cliff next to the hidden beach... can't be bothered to move my house. I'll try to figure it out somehow.
The patterns aren’t just for DIYs, a lot lot of them are DIYs, but there are other furniture that you can use the patterns on, like a table lamp or a zen cushion!
Love the tips! I've been brainstorming for a Tel Aviv theme island and was struggling to incorporating the Old Jaffa elements into it. Now with Redd taking up the dock in the back with his boat, I can easily turn the whole beach area into Old Jaffa! hahahaha
Thank you so much for the design and all of ideas are helping more then you would ever know. Be for I was stuck on what to do and got me so frustrated but now there not enough time ( of bells) in the day on creating and building my island thank you
For Sable, I think it is for a week! I just got their shop on Monday and she just started acknowledging me yesterday which was Friday. She hasn't given me any patterns yet. But takes about 5 days of constantly talking to her to get her to acknowledge you.
I've made a little pirate beach for the hidden beach since the guy is selling possibly stolen artwork and fakes. Thanks for the tipp with Sable! I'll start talking to her tomorrow (it's late in Germany, so the store is already closed)

Aww, I missed your video by three weeks! I'm so in need of help. I've already got a layout in mind. Such a helpful video, though! Thanks so much for sharing tips and suggestions! 🌈
Just wanna comment some things I did. 1. Sadly my secret beach is in the middle so I couldn't really do a boardwalk around it, but I did do something similar with one of my cliff tops, My island came with 2 high cliffs on the left and right sides I originally wanted this on the left which was past a little stone walk park I made and a cedar forest I planted. But I decided to move it to the other cliff top which happens to be north of my museum. Basic thing I was going for was to have like a clifftop bbq/grill location (I also have a smoker up there) Its also where I plan to put Brewster's cafe when it gets added. 2. Going back to that cedar tree forest, I had an idea of a dense forest surrounding a star shaped lake. I got said forest planted but I kept wondering what more I could do. A friend suggested a zen shrine, and I came across a video showing off an enchanted looking forest. So I might go for that theme. 3. I also mentioned a stonewalk part. I used the stone path for it and its on the westmost clifftop. Its got two lookout viewers and metal fencing on the left, a cotton candy stall, the tea cup ride in the middle, a jungle gym in the corner, and the stone table set on the right. 4. The most recent thing I did was set up an orchard. I already had something of one but it wasn't fenced in and was taking up space. So, north of the villagers living on the west side (right next to the cliff of the stonewalk park) I made a fruit tree orchard with wooden paths surrounding the trees and bordered by hedge fencing.
For the Nooklink custom pattern one I managed to do it without going to the settings menu, if you have scanned a QR code you'll see the +download on your nookphone when you're in the custom designs menu!
One reason why other people's islands look bigger is just our brain processing it differently. On our own island everything is known, but on other islands everything is new, which results in your brain perceiving it differently. Everything feels longer/slower and bigger. It's also the reason why time feels faster as we grow up - there are less new things everywhere when we get older.

I’ve been spending hours and hours on a massive boardwalk that runs along my entire southern beach, using the same wood path and rope fence. 😂
David Gleason I would like to see it
I use the log stools to put my kitchen items on there, instead of the floor. And I customize the color to however your house is set up. Makes it look more tidy!
instead of pressing A and playing for 40 hours 😂😂 loving all the content
"instead of pressing A and playing for forty hours" 😂
like, this is me
aaa just wanna say thank you so so much for the effort you put into your vids and the content you put out. I was really struggling with ideas for my island but after binge watching your vids i’ve finally found some ideas I’m happy with, thank you!!!
The fabrics sable gives you also work on items like the hammock and most simple fabric furniture items
That boardwalk has me contemplating redesigning that entire area that I’ve just built... oops
Love your videos man keep it up!
It’s a psychological thing, but good island layouts can definitely add on top of it (just like how the layout in IKEA are designed to make you take more time to go through every section etc)
after having this game since it came out i’m finally thinking of ways to design it 😓 these videos help out a lot, thanks!
Great video again, your easily that best AC channel out there
Your gonna have a “this old house” show but with islands instead 😂
THANK YOU for sharing about Sable, I can;t wait to get those patterns.
it took almost two weeks but i got the patterns and am very happy! every day she gives me more it's so sweet! their dialogue is also the cutest and now my favourite part of the day.
You only have 25k subs? Dude. You deserve more
A video on night time themes and ideas would be really cool. I’ve got ideas for an arcade/night area but the application isn’t coming together. Thanks!
Alexamd ooooo that’s a great idea!!
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I've only played Pocket Camp and needed this!
Thank you. Got sum ideas. Im defo robbing the idea for that little beach.
I wish I knew about Redd from the very beginning because my house is literally on the cliff next to the hidden beach... can't be bothered to move my house. I'll try to figure it out somehow.
The patterns aren’t just for DIYs, a lot lot of them are DIYs, but there are other furniture that you can use the patterns on, like a table lamp or a zen cushion!
how did you put stairs going down to reds little beach? no matter what i try it will not let me put the incline there.
Omg the custom picture thing is so cool thanks for a great video !!!
Awesome job! I'm changing my whole island because it is a disaster...and your videos inspire me! Thanks!
So i have a long path on the right that goes straight down, im not sure what to do on those sides, any suggestions?
Love the tips! I've been brainstorming for a Tel Aviv theme island and was struggling to incorporating the Old Jaffa elements into it. Now with Redd taking up the dock in the back with his boat, I can easily turn the whole beach area into Old Jaffa! hahahaha
I've never heard anyone in real life greet someone with "What is up guys!" Only TH-camrs
wow i can’t wait to create a little gelato shop! thanks for the ice cream stall design😄
This is awesome! Thank you so much for showing!
Thank you so much for the design and all of ideas are helping more then you would ever know. Be for I was stuck on what to do and got me so frustrated but now there not enough time ( of bells) in the day on creating and building my island thank you
your videos are crazy good, keep it up mate!
TYSM! IT MADE MY ISLAND BRIGHTEN UP AND PEOPLE VISIT MY ISLAND!
Hey :)
Where do you get that cute sand squid at min 5:01 from?:3
For Sable, I think it is for a week! I just got their shop on Monday and she just started acknowledging me yesterday which was Friday. She hasn't given me any patterns yet. But takes about 5 days of constantly talking to her to get her to acknowledge you.
Your videos have really helped me designing my island. I had design block for so long but now I’m glad things are coming together👍🏾.
I've made a little pirate beach for the hidden beach since the guy is selling possibly stolen artwork and fakes.
Thanks for the tipp with Sable! I'll start talking to her tomorrow (it's late in Germany, so the store is already closed)
Hey Man! wanted to let you know how helpful your videos are for me! gave me a lot of ideas and inspiration. Just got my island to a 5 star rating! Thanks a lot!
Aww, I missed your video by three weeks! I'm so in need of help. I've already got a layout in mind. Such a helpful video, though! Thanks so much for sharing tips and suggestions! 🌈
How did you get your stairs to the secret beach? I tried placing a build and it won't let me.
I just wanted to let u know that your videos are super helpful 💞I'll be keeping up with this channel 🥰
Another use full video for people 🥰. Also congrats on 25k
you are so nice and instructive i love your videos! keep sharing ideas they’re great :)
Thank you for this video. It's quite helpful. I am brand new to Animal Crossing. New Horizons is the first one I have ever tried. The game is quite relaxing and fun and I have been playing it for about a week now.
You guys know where to buy or find the signboards for the camping area and the for for restaurants?
Thx so much for ur ideas!! Just what I absolutely need!
What. My mind is BLOWN with that settings / image download hack!!!
4:51 Fun Fact: Tom Nook also hates Redd because he lost all his money and became very depressed because of him.
sad reacts only
i’m getting my switch lite next week 😭 i can finally use tips i see in videos
I made my patch of sand into a place to chill with a hammock and barbecue and then crazy red had just parked there:(
Can you please make a video, compiling tips for people who don't have an online account?
How did you build the incline near Redd?
What a fun idea for a video !! I’m excited to see you transform an island or two !!:)
