I'd love to see design ideas for hiding spots! Playing hide & seek on the island w/ friends has been really fun, but it'd be great to have some creative ways to spice up the game a bit by creating more challenging spots
I'm really struggling because hydrangeas are my favorite flower in real life and I LOVED them in New Leaf, but I'm just not crazy about them in New Horizons 😥 the pinks are too purple, the blues are alright!

So glad you finally gave Nicole the shop backyards she deserves lol! I love the idea of setting up a little shop outside of Able's other than just putting out clothes. The mowed grass is cute too! I did something similar with Erik's yard on my island. Great tips as always :)
For the area behind Nook's Cranny, could I recommend putting stone paths down underneath the brick fence tiles, before you put the fence on them? It might look a little more natural that way.
I do love that path... I think it’s the same one that TagBackTV is obsessed with. It looks so great if you’re going for that overgrown type of look. There are so many great paths and I’d love to do custom paths all over my island, but I would miss the clickety-clack sound of walking/running on the real paths, so I use the in-game paths in most places.
This is so weird .. my island has the back of nooks cranny almost identical and I had the weed /lawn mower without the green path . I just weeded out a line my mower was going down .. I thought I had been so creative and it was unique 😂 guess not .
I love the idea of the backend of the Nook's Cranny. I want to use that idea. I'm trying to decide as a beginner how to decorate to get my star rating up. I wish I had better placed my tents at first so my new villagers houses were all in one area. I, like an idoit, just placed buildings all over so terraforming is going to be a problem bc I will have to move everything
With the pet bed , i made a garden surrounded by my cat ( Salems ) favourite items ( teddys , custom toy things, ect. ) and put him in the pet bed in the center. Everyday i go and put pink flowers ( we used to have tons of those at our old house )
one of my first designs was putting 2 tricycles and rope fencing behind nooks cranny! i like to think theyre timmy and tommys so they park them there lol
Hi, great tips! I have a minor suggestion - for the Nook's back part - put the fencing on top of any pathing so there isn't that grass border (of course that's a matter of taste).
I was looking for a place for my trash can and garbage bags. My Able Sisters is behind Nooks, and they are surrounded by a board walk. To the side of Able's is a stall with accessories and a table mirror with a changing room to the side. I may be able to tier in a box and table to complete the add. Thanks
OMG! I had no idea that you could customize the pet bed! Now I have a sleeping cat in my pet bed next to the cat tower and litter box! Thank you so much for sharing the creator code for the cats!
Judging from other comments, others have also discovered and been using the path pattern that you showed -- including me! The only disappointment is not being able to curve it or create nice looking diagonal paths. Unless you have a way to solve that problem, I'll have to be satisfied with jagged looking paths. Thank you for your Cranny receiving area. What a great idea! And how cute to see you hanging out with Erik at the end!

I'm in the process of working on my island and everything, and it's coming along nicely, and then I see videos like this and I realise my island is going to look like a mess compared to the incredible planning and detail so many people have done. Most of my villagers are sharing a yard lol.

Noticed you have the golf course design tiles. Was wondering where you got them, wanting to do a putting green or mini golf course (if I can get creative enough) but haven't been able to find the designs 😕
Love the living memorial ❤️ I have two of my cats cremated remains curled up in a wicker basket urn. One was a tuxedo and the other solid white, thus he was born deaf and lived 21 years.
I'm not fond of using patterns on the ground because it affects the sound it makes when you walk. I used to have borders over top of my brick paths and it made two different sounds depending on where I was walking. Kind of put me off.
Some of my villagers have pets but I like to use the dog house then I’ll put a bug model in front of it. Olive has a pet snapping turtle, Static has a pet scorpion, and Apple has a pet jewel beetle.
Hi, I’m in the Southern Hemisphere. Are the in season bushes the same for us or do they follow the real seasons so we will have winter bushes in flower? Thx
Holly is in season and flowering for those of us in the southern hemisphere. The rest will just be green bushes, which I use as a kind of hedge fence myself.
An extra tip; the designs you have done for you flag and phone CAN be safely deleted in order to get more design slots! Just deleted mine as an experiment and saw that I still had my flag and phone case designs intact! That’s two more slots for use! Happy gaming!
10:00 The better use of that pattern is inlaying it with something like dirt to cover the edges and then you can use the 5 pieces in crazy ways to have an old, unused looking pathway. What I did for able sisters is I added a mini plaza, to the side of it, with iron garden chairs, and their is a little gate out the back with a garden

I made a pink diner behind my Nook's Cranny! So it's kind of together! HAHA and made a coffee/pizza cafe behind Able's Sister! :)

If you place a dirt path first then put the custom mowed pattern over it the shape fits better, and looks more natural and it actually looks mowed.
