Thank you so much for sharing your ideas! My hubby and I are both senior citizens, and in light of what's going on in the world, we both have switches and we both love ACNH! I'm new to your channel, and have really embraced your ideas. I recently received my 5-star rating, and I'm super stoked! I just wanted to "thank you" for sharing, and thank you for the instructions on obtaining the painting over by the lighthouse. I totally did that. :)
It has been driving me bonkers because I didn’t know why I dropped from 5 stars but now I know my stalls with diys and fossils on them were to blame tysm!
I give you ideas!! 1: Outdoor library!!! 2: Grand entrence! Wait did he cover that? 3: Park!! 4: Hybrid flower garden or a normal one!! 5: Make your home a bakery or a shop!! Hope my tips helped you!!!
That seaplane waiting spot is so cute for near the entrance! I recently decided I didn’t like the entrance and wanted to redo it, but was having trouble figuring out what to do with it. A lot of my friends have these super cool nature paths with waterfalls and what not, which I love, but I didn’t think would fit the more built up slightly urbanized vibe I’ve been going for. The rest stop is much more fitting and I love the idea!
Love the little added step of creating your own image for the painting! I'd like to think I had a bit of a hand in the little painting area inspo from when you visited. Love the vid!
Thank you for explaining the difference between placed and dropped items! It was driving me crazy trying to figure out why I kept dropping to a 4 star. I finally went around picking up dropped items I was using as decor, such as fruit, flower seed bags and bags of weeds. That brought me back up to a 5, but I thought maybe I couldn't put anymore "placed" items out! I'm glad to know that's not the case! And now I know I can have up to 14 "dropped items! Thanks again!!
The lighthouse and farm is such a cuuuuuute idea!!! And I like the fact that you have the work station and dropped station set up so well. Lol I am definitely having that issue on doing that as well. So, that being said... I love this!! ♥️
The drawing idea is brilliant, cant expeess how much I love your idea. I made some paintings and put them in my town market, pretending some stalls you can pay and the painters will draw you a picture
I have been watching this guy's designs for a few days now and, I must say, he sounds so genuine and unscripted, it's really likable! You've got yourself a new subscriber! :)
Haha that painting idea was the first thing I did when I got the game in march, I loved it. I did it with the shop 😅 did not know it was a good idea, feel proud now
Thanks for putting these little bite sized chunks in amongst your longer videos. My favourite design idea of yours was when you created the earth beds for your flowers... and the flowers up against your fencing looked wonderful. I do like the farm area in this new video too. Thank you for sharing.
it always makes me so mad when i see other peoples island entrances, i wouldn't be able to fit anything there, the plaza is way too close, i did a small little thing with water fountain, with street lamps, benches and flowers around it.. i wish i could do more. thats a general problem i have with my island, i dont have any space for any bigger idea, but i'm too lazy and afraid of doing massive terraforming, it is so slow, and im so scared of me not liking it in the end and having to try to rebuild it all
Speaking of design I’m redoing my island, I’m splitting into two parts the first part is the more developed part, this includes the shopping area, the residential area, my second house, a park, a cafe, a beach, a lil island for the camp site, and the museum. After going through the entrance the first thing is the shopping zone and resident services each building is on its own little island cliff over an area with a large lake and waterfall connecting these mini islands are small bits of land to jump across and the residential services island has a mini zen garden from here you can access quite a few areas, the most obvious is the path to the east leading to one of the two main beaches, the museum (including some outdoor exhibits) and my second house. The beach will have a fishing spot, a swimming area, and seating, as well as some food stands and possibly an outdoor theater. My second house isn’t much but it will have a garden and an outdoor kitchen. And the museum will have some fossils and a flower garden with every type of flower in it as well as some bug models. The 2nd exit from the shopping area requires you to move down to a small ledge at the bottom of the shopping islands and follow the path to the south, this will take you to the residential area which contains all villager houses, the campsite island, the plaza, and the 2nd beach, each house will have a small garden with a table, the plaza will have a stage area , a crafting area and a bonfire, the campsite is on a small island with a pool and fishing area, and finally the beach will just have some furniture and a hammock. Finally the 3rd exit from the shopping area leads to the less developed area, you start in the fruit grove area containing all of the different types of fruit and a waterfall, by taking a semi secret path in the grove you will have access to another zen garden, my actual house, my private beach, and a mini game area, the zen garden will be pretty large and will have a fountain, my house and beach are pretty simple, and finally the mini games area is over looking the island and contains two main games and some slot machines the first game is just a basic recreation of musical chairs and the second one is an obstacle course Anyway that’s what I have planned, any suggestions?
hello, just wanted to thank you for these vids. i've just gotten terraforming and your ideas are making my island look so good!! keep making ac content :))
I always wanted the Bust Stop public works project in new leaf but never got it! So it was one of the first spots I made on my island and it's been my entrance ever since. Mine isn't wide like that, it only takes up four spaces coming out of my airport, but is a much wider. I love it, I put up zen fencing and put a ton of trees right behind it. Makes my entrance still look cozy and nature-y while still having a bit of that industrial/modern feel.
I liked the little seaplane waiting area! Tbh I made a shopping district attached with my entrance to the left - which is closed off from everything else so I don’t have to worry about randoms plucking flowers and taking stuff if I call them for turnips, etc. I’ve put a rest area next to the ables on there, but after seeing this I’ll rearrange it a bit more so the rest area is the first thing to the left of the entrance to pretend like it’s for the airport as well, and push the nooklings shop where the rest area was haha. The little painting idea was really nice too! Tbh I’ve been considering such stuff but there’s seriously not enough custom design slots, we really need an upgrade on that!!! And finally, about the dropped item on benches, that was a question I had for the longest time, thanks for answering it!! 14 items are allowed huh..but I think it’s lame that it still counts as dropped even if you use a bench or stall, its so much more convenient to do these for trade areas, sad. I’ll have to put off setting stuff like that until after my 5 stars I guess. My work station(which is also in the shopping district) stays tho. Really helpful video!!
Love the ideas...I think my favorite is the painting spot and once I get to terraforming I will try it. I am just starting out and haven't made but two bridges. So I guess I should go back and see if you have any how to get started designing your islands. Right now there is no design except for my own house! LOL..but I am anxious to get started!! Thanks for the tips!
I had the same problem with the dropped items, between my recipe trade stalls and my crafting area it was pushing me over the limit. I had initially thought/hoped that putting them on tables/benches and stall surface wouldn't count but they still do, unfortunately. So I removed a few of the more rarely used materials and some spare oranges I had lying around and then it was fine. I also have a small turnip farm area, much more simple than your farm area but it fits my island's semi-tropical wilderness aesthetic well. I made a 5x2 (horizontally aligned) patch of dark earth, built a natural stone fencing behind and around the corner to one side, and put country fencing in the front so I could still see through it. I also put a simple shop sign in front with a picture of a turnip that I drew myself (the last side is left open for access). Then I just bury my 10 stacks of turnips there, so they don't count for the dropped item limit. Very simple but it looks very nice.
This is so helpful. I didn’t understand the difference between dropped & placed items. Isabel kept dinging me for too many items on the ground, so I kept outdoor eliminating furniture. Lol.... Thank you very much 👏🏼👍. PS: Just tested the and it worked perfectly - I went from 4 to 5 instantly 😊
Love your videos!!!! I just started to complete terraform my entire island you gave me the best idea with the lighthouse, just gonna change it up a bit, but thanks so much!!! Love what you do with you island! :)
I love just how different people’s design style can shine through in this game. My town I would say is good but looks so much different to many others I’ve seen that are also good
I am currently designing a top for each and every one of my villagers (except ken because I’m planning on kicking him out with my amiibo but he can have one for now.) Each will match the villager but have a similar aesthetic. An example is Megan will get a lavender dress with a cute little collar. Julian will get a light blue robe with vibrant sparkles. Filbert will get a nice beige sweater with a blue sprout. Kyle will also get a sweater, but his will be deep brown with muted blue stripes. I’m planning on obtaining Coco’s amiibo, so I will give her the heart apron dress I made. I’m planning on putting my custom designs in the Tailors shop, then buying them and giving them to my villagers. Then I will replace those outfits with new ones.
Wow...mind blown over the dropped vs. placed items!!! I never knew that. I have an outside DIY station set up with about 10 tables...dropped stuff left and right on the tables thinking I was so smart. Lol...guess not!! Thanks so much for pointing this out. 😊
Great tips! I also suggest for 5 stars to listen to Isabelle. Alot of people fast forward to her when your asking for the evaluation. She actually says whether you need more flowers, fences and decor items. I was stuck at 4 and as soon as I listened to Isabelle I got a 5 right away.
I've been waiting for my switch lite for agesss and it should be arriving finally tomorrow!! I'm so excited I can't wait (or sleep, hence me watching this at quarter past one in the morning)!
I feel like the soil patterns look even better if you put them on the sand or dirt path. then, the edges blend in with the grass and it looks really really natural. If you want more rows, just use dirt and sand in alternation so that the paths don't merge and place the pattern on top :)
I do that same farm area and I store my turnips there, lattice fencing looks really good as a “gate” when combined with Corral fencing Incase you’re having guests over and want to secure your turnips
Gonna be honest, I hit 5 start super fast (unintentionally) and here's why lol: I'm still in inspiration/ building mode but I didn't have enough Room in my storage to save a bunch of bugs that I wanted to sell to Flick, so I placed them along the town hall area for easy access lol. There was about 50-100😅😂. I was ready to laugh at myself bc I thought it'd drop my island to a 1 and saw 5, the "random comment " was obviously flicks review about how blissful he felt surrounded by his soul partners out there in the universe or w/e 🤣 ... def Flick , but either way, I got the flower😌
I purchase lots of turnips on Sundays. I noticed last week a Lilly of the Valley on my island and know you only get them when you have 5 stars. However when I talked to Isabel she said the island was 4 star. After selling my turnips, which were scattered on the island, I talked to Isabel again and she said I had a 5-star island. So, evidently the turnips laying around also drop your score
I have been playing the game every single day and I still do not feel like I have enough furniture to decorate! I have been making spaces to put stuff but they remain empty. I am on a mad hunt for a bookshelf so I can make a secret library. Also I love the patio furniture! I adore how you placed yours
I have a question! I don’t have terraforming yet but wanna plan my island. I have my house on a little jutt out of grass that cuts into the ocean. I want to move this feature to the other side of my island where my village will be. Can I add grass/ normal land over the beach? Or any other way I can create this cool little island I’m on now, on the other side of my community?
this was clutch! Good to know that dropping items into stalls or onto benches will affect the rating, i thought i was being smart by doing that guess not
MCA Lives this makes so much sense since I already cleaned up my island but Isabelle keeps saying her only complaint is too much stuff lying around, it’s because I have so many benches with my dropped DIY recipes and materials🤦♀️
Yup. Definetly my lil trade station that's doing me in then. I made a special cliff by the airport so visitors can buy my items off of nookazon. My wares are just dropped items all over the floor since it's the easiest way for me to give them to customers. the log benches would resolve this and get me up a star, but it would also give me less space for my nookazon shop
This was helpful, Isabelle had said my 4 star island needed to clean up dropped island.....my problem is that I've been hoarding items on the east coast Beach, just dropped. I think I just don't have much space in my house, idk perhaps I got more space now that I have an upstairs. But i didn't know we were allowed only 14 dropped items. Thanks!
I really want to do something like that farm area but I'm always worried that it will clash with everything around it. I don't have an established style and all my sections are just kind of slapped next to each other.
Another 5 star tip, look at your map. Make sure you have a piece of furniture in every box. Isabelle kept on saying decorate more and I found one box with no furniture. I placed two chairs and viola! 5 stars!
What helps too, is I keep my crafting bench and my tool crafting supplies in my pocket so I don’t need to run anywhere to make stuff I can just whip it out, so some stones some sticks iron and hardwood stays in my pocket unless I’m going to use a nook miles ticket (: hope this helps anyone doing a big project! (:
I love the painting design and I’m totally using it! So cute! How did you get the red and white lighthouse? I only ever have the yellow one at Nookstop and it can’t be customized 🧐
My island is called "Art Island" and as soon as I got the game I wanted a paint set so I could set up landscape paintings everywhere! I've customized some of my paintings from real life into the game. I love it!
I got 5* on my island over the weekend and it’s because of your design tips! I’m not done yet but I’m loving my island and the game so much more now that I feel like I have a clue what I’m doing! 😅

It has been driving me bonkers because I didn’t know why I dropped from 5 stars but now I know my stalls with diys and fossils on them were to blame tysm!
Why do you have such good ideas that I literally never think about !!!

I LOVE your little light house area! that little painting station really ties it all together!
Haha that painting idea was the first thing I did when I got the game in march, I loved it. I did it with the shop 😅 did not know it was a good idea, feel proud now
CHAR how do u get the pics off ur switch to make a personal design like he did in the video?
@@haileyrich8402 I linked my FB account and set it to post to private so I can go on my laptop and get it from there :')
Thanks for putting these little bite sized chunks in amongst your longer videos. My favourite design idea of yours was when you created the earth beds for your flowers... and the flowers up against your fencing looked wonderful. I do like the farm area in this new video too. Thank you for sharing.
it always makes me so mad when i see other peoples island entrances, i wouldn't be able to fit anything there, the plaza is way too close, i did a small little thing with water fountain, with street lamps, benches and flowers around it.. i wish i could do more.
thats a general problem i have with my island, i dont have any space for any bigger idea, but i'm too lazy and afraid of doing massive terraforming, it is so slow, and im so scared of me not liking it in the end and having to try to rebuild it all
DerZeldaGamer on a positive note, you’ll have bigger empty spaces to build things on your island :D
Edit: fixed a grammar mistake
I literally just made a farm very similar to this with white mums and hyanth. Even have the seed bag and soil patten. Great minds think alike.
Speaking of design I’m redoing my island, I’m splitting into two parts the first part is the more developed part, this includes the shopping area, the residential area, my second house, a park, a cafe, a beach, a lil island for the camp site, and the museum. hello, just wanted to thank you for these vids. i've just gotten terraforming and your ideas are making my island look so good!! keep making ac content :))

I got excited when you mentioned this video idea in your stream! Loved the tips
All you need is that watermelon beach ball to add the finishing touch to that cutie farm!

I’ll have to put off setting stuff like that until after my 5 stars I guess. My work station(which is also in the shopping district) stays tho.
Really helpful video!!
I've only been playing it for 25 days and have already got KKslider to come over and got a 5star rating
The dropped item tip DEFINITELY helped me get on my way to a 5 star rating. Thank you!
Thank you very much for the info on how to easily make my own custom designs. I actually never knew this existed.
Made the changes you suggested on my island the other day and got 5 stars just from those changes! Thank you!
I've been going through a tough time recently and your videos are really helpful so thank you so much 💕
Love the updated turnip/farm area! Super cute and the painting of the lighthouse = PURE GENIUS!! 🤯🤯
The painting idea is so creative!! I’ll have to utilize that!
Genius!! The painting pattern trick so so fun. I need to do this... Thanks Patrick!!
Love the ideas...I think my favorite is the painting spot and once I get to terraforming I will try it. I am just starting out and haven't made but two bridges. You have the most amazing designs!!! I love this can’t wait to feel comfortable having people over when I use some of these tips 😊
Yes, dropped items kept me from 5-stars. I love my DIY station, but that was what lowered my score.
Same
These are so helpful thank you. I'm a very indecisive person. Moves everything on my island a million times. These help so much.
10:29 Gave me a good idea for a shopping centre, thanks!
"Be mindful of dropped items"
Look at my island and see the ground covered with stuffs :D
Your godly ideas are too much for my 2 brain cells. I try to make good designs and layouts and they come out unfortunately mediocre.

Thank you for that! Welcome to the channel ❤️
It was ridiculously easy to get five stars tbh I’m surprised people are having so much trouble
LOVE the little painting corner!! Such a great idea!
Could you do a video on stair/incline placement?
I've been putting my turnips in my fossil dig site but defff updating that to a real turnip farm area. Need to put a Shrute Farms sign up too
Stephanie B omgggg! I love it hahah
I love just how different people’s design style can shine through in this game. My town I would say is good but looks so much different to many others I’ve seen that are also good
OMG I have been doing the farm and terminal thing since the beginning! Is the student becoming the master? Lol
I do LOVE the painting idea!

I'm gonna steal that painting idea but use picnic blankets and make it seem like a little Lovers' Area

I already incorporated the painting think into my island. It looks so good!

I'm so jealous of the size of your peninsula!! Mine is super small so I can't do much more than terraform an odd looking oval haha
thank you for all you're help this will improve mine and my sisters island a lot
I planted yellow hyacinth tops I plucked in the rows, and it kind of looks like corn growing!
It never ceases to amaze me how talented people are with their designs! Anything I attempt looks like a homage to Minecraft.
I have been playing the game every single day and I still do not feel like I have enough furniture to decorate! I have been making spaces to put stuff but they remain empty. I am on a mad hunt for a bookshelf so I can make a secret library. Also I love the patio furniture! I adore how you placed yours
Thanks for the art easel idea! Very eager to try it!
10:54 oh that’s what I’m doing wrong. I was trying to make a little market involving diy recipes but I guess that doesn’t work
I like the waiting area! May incorporate it on my island! Thanks!
For the painting idea, how can I get my switch photo from my switch to my phone? Or do I just take the photo on my phone
I like the crafting area with the items on the bench
This island is absolutely stellar. My island is pretty darn cool, but this feels like a living, breathing ecosystem.
You visited my island and I was talking about putting a farm in my open area! The first tip helps a lot!
I love your videos, your design ideas are all over my island.
All your ideas out great I love all of them! I’m definitely using some of these and I subscribed! Keep up the great work!
I love the painting design and I’m totally using it! So cute! How did you get the red and white lighthouse? I only ever have the yellow one at Nookstop and it can’t be customized 🧐
Everyone has different colored items 👍🏻
Those ideas are really neat.
Keep up the good work.
I immediately loaded my game after your video then saw a comment saying the same haha, loved the ideas
My island is called "Art Island" and as soon as I got the game I wanted a paint set so I could set up landscape paintings everywhere! I've customized some of my paintings from real life into the game. I love it!
So what can we do with the extra DIYs and Turnips? I had made fenced in areas for them on the island...
oh my gosh the painting settt!!!
As always, love your ideas! Your videos have helped me so much!
How do you get rid of trees to decorate? Get paths steps ect is there a design app ?
I got 5* on my island over the weekend and it’s because of your design tips! I’m not done yet but I’m loving my island and the game so much more now that I feel like I have a clue what I’m doing! 😅
