I love seeing Josh Harnett in a leading role, shame that the rest of the movie isn't as riveting. His character is so charismatic, and has a nice bond with his daughter, that it's easy to forget that you're following the baddie.

Everybody is complaining about nepotism and his daughter but it seems like she put more effort into the music than he did this movie. The songs are actually not bad at all. She should have just released an album but i guess doing it this way does get more eyes on her.

Josh Hartnett came a long way from Halloween H20 & The Faculty
The first half is something special, a box film with a serial killer planking and trying to escape a giant sting operation
Then the daughter gets to act and I don't like the term Nepo Baby but this is an exception. It goes from a decent plot to just outrageous leaps or bounds of logic.
There's a scene in a limo that is so dumb I had to laugh. If not for Hartnett acting his ass off in the last parts of the film i would have walked out.

I would have preferred if josh hartnett's character was able to convince his way out of there without exposing his identity. It would have pushed his charismatic limits to the maximum, but it would have been a great fake out.
That’s what bothered me was lady raven being soo invested in a person she never met. And had all the times to just scream out “help” or “he’s the killer” and they woulda have tackled Josh harnett immediately. That part was throwing me off. Other then that I’m giving it a solid 7/10
I liked the daughter, Riley, too. She had a lot of common sense. Clearly she got it from her mother who also caught on to the strange things about her husband over time.
Fun Fact: The FBI Profiler in the film is Hayley Mills (Best known for known for vein the twins in the original Parent Trap in 1961 and being Miss Bliss in the first few seasons of Saved by the Bell).

It sounds like the movie Red Eye where yes, the premise is ridiculous where the plot of the villain (in this case, I guess the heroes, the police) is overly complicated and relying on too many things conveniently happening. However, it is still enjoyable to watch due to the acting and charm of the main leads.

Woulda been better-- Josh hartnett goes into her back room and instead of admitting to her he’s the killer, we find out she’s the killer and Josh was somehow caught in the middle/being blackmailed.

Fam, I thought it was gonna be the wife. When they showed her at the end, I thought she was gonna do a creepy smile, and he was gonna be like “ you sold me out”. Idk , just thought that was gonna be the twist.
I thought that JH being the killer was a red herring at first.
It had shamalans signature strange dialogue and editing choices. Certain reactions don’t mix well with certain moments or dialogue. There’s a moment where something serious is happening and it cuts to a dispute between a mother and daughter for comedic effect.
The twist was you thought you were about to watch a horror thriller but you ended up watching a spoof
If you like Josh Hartnett… do yourself a favor and watch “30 Days of Night.”
Absolutely. One of the best, most underrated vampire films as well imo.

Hilariously bad movie but at least it didn't take itself that seriously. Lots of chuckles in the theater. Hartnett getting tased then going gorilla got a solid laugh. I recommend this movie!!
At this stage, I've seen several reviews saying the director has trapped audiences to watch a Nepo film to launch his daughter's music career.
It reminded me of a training video when you start your new job. "Things to look out for while working at a concert👍"
Hartnett would be a great older Hal Jordan in the Lanterns show. Maybe have his time in space from being a Green Lantern so long have him lose his connection to humanity yet a need for humans? It's an in paper shallow role but has a lot of room for potential layers and growth with a Hartnett level actor

I think some people missed the TWIST. At the table when he was eating the pie with his wife. He says the plan all along was not to catch me at the concert but to catch me at the house. Everyone was in on the plot to get him back to the house and then catch him. They knew he would go back stage. He would use the singer to get out. and she would lead him to the house. The wife found his bag in the car and poisoned him with the drugs in the bag. That was her improvising. That is why all the cops were already at the house. I think that was the ah hah moment we were supposed to get.
That's so stupid if true. Wouldn't it make more sense to NOT tip him off to a giant FBI investigation to catch him at the concert and instead catch him at the house he was going to be going back home to after the concert anyway?

I disagree... if this was the plan, then it's dumb since there was too much time that went by in which he could have killed the singer... and there is no reason to think he works be able to access back stage let alone the singer... the fact that the daughter was chosen to be in stage is like 10000 to 1, so that would not have been the plan.

The first 40 mins had my heart pumping then he made his daughter the main part. I actually walked out after her 15th song she did. Not exaggerating

As someone who does go to concerts it was weird how much people where just walking around the fact the daughter herself left mid show to get a shirt. For a while I assumed the girl was the opener because people where doing everything but watch her.
The only way a concert used to catch a killer is if the ticket buy process required that you have to attach a photo to each ticket bought, via a background check, and they had a genereal description of the killer.

So police want to arrest a notorious serial killer in the middle of a concert full of thousands of people? At an arena with dozens of exits? Not at his home, or when he’s strolling the neighborhood. Doesn’t make sense to me really.
Because the police don't know where the notorious serial killer's house or neighborhood is. But they do have intel that suggests that the notorious serial killer will be at this specific concert.
Bruh, that would be too easy and not cinematic. lol Reminds me of the Zodiac Killer film from the 70s. Only reason that was made was to catch the Zodiac in the theater watching a movie on himself because he said in one of the letters that he wrote, he wanted a movie made on him.

His best chance of getting out would’ve been to be one of the thousands of other guys who are getting interviewed at the same time trying to leave.
I expected more and was severely let down. 1.5/5 at best. There were too many plot holes. What was the purpose of the mom of the other girl? How was the kitchen scene even possible? Where was Raven's security detail? The limo scene was laughable, like how? The ending was frustrating. The way that law enforcement handled things was infuriating 😬
Josh Hartnett gave a solid performance, he was believable as the butcher. I wish that they revealed more of his backstory though. Basically it's a concert film for Shyamalan's daughter with a very mediocre sub-plot 🤷🏽♀️

I thought this movie premise and setting was awesome. I went to a taylor swift concert and saw exactly how people were focused on the singer and just not paying attention to their environment so i can definitely believe a killer could go around and do grimy shit without anybody paying attention to him. I thought josh acting was weird because it felt like he was doing a mark Wahlberg impression because thats exactly who he sounded like whenever he was playing the nice dad, or maybe that's just me. Lol im a little upset that the movie wasnt entirely focused on him trying to escape the concert throughout the movie which felt like a bait and switch because i could careless about him and his wife marriage issues, which also i swore and up down i thought the wife was gonna be in on it because that actress also always plays villain roles in other movies so it threw me off when she was the one who snitched on him. Also, there are wayyy too many convenient situations that happen for him such as the him disappearing out of the limo scene. Like no one saw him leave and change out of that limo? Unless someone pulled a jack reacher, hid him, and not say anything, then i could believe it i guess. One last thing, who else thought this movie was gonna pull an unbreakable cameo at the end. I thought for sure bruce willis son was gonna show and be like yeah i found another supervillian, we need to find him or something.

To the defense of that subplot, I think it was just to show that he really was just an average father with typical suburban issues. It's disappointing that they didn't resolve anything, but it might have been intentional. All they wanted to do was humanize.

Sounds like it may be similar to Out Of Time starring Denzel Washington and Eva Mendez. Denzel was constantly trying to stay on step ahead etc. or maybe like The Talented Mr Ridley starring Matt Damon and Jude Law.

@@92kris I haven’t seen Trap but the way Korey was describing it made me think of Out Of Time. lol. Yeah Out sod Time was good. Denzel got that printout from the printer just as Eva was about to. lol. He was in panic mode but still played it cool.
I really enjoyed the movie just felt the ending was a bit uneven for me. But Josh Hartnett's performance was great the whole way.
It just got really dumb near the end, specifically when Cooper straight up told Lady Raven who he was. I said out loud, ‘Why?!’ He was in the clear; the backstage person literally said, ‘You can use the exit to get to the car.’ Why the hell did he need to tell her he’s the killer? That made no sense, and it literally just went downhill from there. I tried to turn my brain off, but I just couldn’t.

Everyone's saying it's basically a ruse to expose people to his daughter's music. So why is the movie so long? I believe it's over an hour and forty minutes. But he's always had a knack for just making his movies unnecessarily long with a very anticlimactic ending.

This didn't look good to me, but Josh Hart impressed in Black Mirror, so maybe this is his genre, but M Night movies are typically weak in my opinion.

Concerning the impossible things that would not happen with the police in real life, I thought about the ending. I'd like to think that the police wouldn’t allow a killer that's known to be super crafty to fiddle with a bike real quick before he leaves with them and its really crazy to me that they just left him alone in the back of that truck. Dont they usually have guards riding in the back with highly dangerous criminals they are transporting? If they don't then they really should. At the end of the day though this movie was a fun thriller to watch. More on the comediac side than anything else if you ask me.

If Shyamalan wanted to make this Hitchcock movie he probably should’ve look at his own script and say “How can this work without confusing the audiences?” Maybe show don’t tell.
I wouldn’t want Josh Hartnett to be wrapped up in one role, but if he was I wouldn’t want it to be Doctor Doom. If they were going to do a proper Hulk franchise, I could see him as Bruce Banner after this movie.

I think some don’t like it or dismiss it because it included M Night’s daughter. I honestly didn’t know until I came to the comment section. The music was ok and I’ve always been a fan of Hartnett (Blackhawk Down, Faculty, 30 days of Night). Not much of a twist but the movie was pretty good.
Hayley Mills from the Parent Trap is in this movie TRAP as well as Good Morning Miss Bliss which preceeded Saved By The Bell. Hmm can't be a coincidence LOL!🤗🤔🧐🙆

Loves this review, I was worried he was gonna take to a person that he already lied to, like he was a managerr a loving dad and a scared employee, and no one was like hey how can u be working here if ur attending the concert, love his performance as a killer, and some shots like the door sence, but then down right hilarious shots like the guy getting kidnapped ahahahaha

What are you guys talking about... this is an even bigger NEPO movie than The Watchers (one of his daughters was handed out millions of dollars and a Director position to make a nonsense movie). And in this one he uses the movie to nepo his other daughter as pop star/007/superhero! All the attention given to her just sucked the air out of the movie, she made this supposed seasoned serial killer look like a total idiot and just adds to the disbelief you have to out up with, 1st with the killer and on top of that with her + having to put up with 3-4 of her songs just cutting through the whole movie.
I think this movie was just an expensive pony he gave to his daughter, the plot and story were just put in the trunk of the car and totally forgotten about... I'm so tired of hearing MOVIE REVIEWERS using the "just turn you brain off" to give a bad movie a pass!
honestly i hoped for some late superhero/ villain plot twist, like when he suddenly dissapeared from the car, or could easly overcome beign electroshocked and or that the FBI was in reality an organization hunting people with superpowers maybe the action taking place in some other movies universe. But turned out the trailer was the movie
