This was giving me Micheal Myers vibes like they tried to put that doctor patient relationship she must have been studying the butcher for years and reading up on him or whatever it felt like. Human Michael Myers 😂
Spoiler review ***** I thought this movie premise and setting was awesome. I went to a taylor swift concert and saw exactly how people were focused on the singer and just not paying attention to their environment so i can definitely believe a killer could go around and do grimy shit without anybody paying attention to him. I thought josh acting was weird because it felt like he was doing a mark Wahlberg impression because thats exactly who he sounded like whenever he was playing the nice dad, or maybe that's just me. Lol im a little upset that the movie wasnt entirely focused on him trying to escape the concert throughout the movie which felt like a bait and switch because i could careless about him and his wife marriage issues, which also i swore and up down i thought the wife was gonna be in on it because that actress also always plays villain roles in other movies so it threw me off when she was the one who snitched on him. Also, there are wayyy too many convenient situations that happen for him such as the him disappearing out of the limo scene. Like no one saw him leave and change out of that limo? Unless someone pulled a jack reacher, hid him, and not say anything, then i could believe it i guess. One last thing, who else thought this movie was gonna pull an unbreakable cameo at the end. I thought for sure bruce willis son was gonna show and be like yeah i found another supervillian, we need to find him or something.
I expected more and was severely let down. 1.5/5 at best. There were too many plot holes. What was the purpose of the mom of the other girl? How was the kitchen scene even possible? Where was Raven's security detail? The limo scene was laughable, like how? The ending was frustrating. The way that law enforcement handled things was infuriating 😬 Josh Hartnett gave a solid performance, he was believable as the butcher. I wish that they revealed more of his backstory though. Basically it's a concert film for Shyamalan's daughter with a very mediocre sub-plot 🤷🏽♀️
I HATE my dude just "hey, they're trying to ambush a serial killer, but I know that's not you, we're cool, in these 5 minutes you're like a brother from another mother, so I'm giving you the literal password". Man, WHAT?! No really, pause the movie and explain this person and how they're supposed to be a person?
Sounds like it may be similar to Out Of Time starring Denzel Washington and Eva Mendez. Denzel was constantly trying to stay on step ahead etc. or maybe like The Talented Mr Ridley starring Matt Damon and Jude Law.

To the defense of that subplot, I think it was just to show that he really was just an average father with typical suburban issues. It's disappointing that they didn't resolve anything, but it might have been intentional. All they wanted to do was humanize.
I really liked this movie a lot. Yes M Night did his usual wtf antics but I really had a good time. Loved seeing Kid Cudi & Russ making appearances. Yea theres a lot of wtf?! How?! 🤣🤣🤣
I was disappointed that was was a serial killer movie that nobody died in and the ending was horrible.Plus the writing after 35mins makes me think that The Butcher would have been caught already..🤣
Despite me liking and bopping along to the music i wont deny its a not even subtle nepo film. Which hey, he got people to sign on and agree to it so 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
I feel like the premise of this entire film comes from M.Night’s perceived Equal..Hitchcock, from a single scene from a superior film about a serial killer; Psycho. The pushing of the car into the pond scene and…the car doesn’t sink immediately and the Audience is like “Oh’No! He’s gonna get caught!” M.Night was like…That…Is the entirety of my next film.
I understand that there's a M. Night Shyamalan guide available on how to make a secret tunnel that goes from your house to your neighbor's backyard. Supposedly there are tips included as to how to keep this activity a secret from your wife and kids.
Concerning the impossible things that would not happen with the police in real life, I thought about the ending. I'd like to think that the police wouldn’t allow a killer that's known to be super crafty to fiddle with a bike real quick before he leaves with them and its really crazy to me that they just left him alone in the back of that truck. Dont they usually have guards riding in the back with highly dangerous criminals they are transporting? If they don't then they really should. At the end of the day though this movie was a fun thriller to watch. More on the comediac side than anything else if you ask me.
Hayley Mills from the Parent Trap is in this movie TRAP as well as Good Morning Miss Bliss which preceeded Saved By The Bell. Hmm can't be a coincidence LOL!🤗🤔🧐🙆
Loves this review, I was worried he was gonna take to a person that he already lied to, like he was a managerr a loving dad and a scared employee, and no one was like hey how can u be working here if ur attending the concert, love his performance as a killer, and some shots like the door sence, but then down right hilarious shots like the guy getting kidnapped ahahahaha
I think some don’t like it or dismiss it because it included M Night’s daughter. I honestly didn’t know until I came to the comment section. The music was ok and I’ve always been a fan of Hartnett (Blackhawk Down, Faculty, 30 days of Night). Not much of a twist but the movie was pretty good.
I wouldn’t want Josh Hartnett to be wrapped up in one role, but if he was I wouldn’t want it to be Doctor Doom. If they were going to do a proper Hulk franchise, I could see him as Bruce Banner after this movie.
My only only issue with this movie was why was lady raven sooo invested in a person she never met before. They threw me off. But still a great film. And Josh harnett. My boy! Is back lol
If Shyamalan wanted to make this Hitchcock movie he probably should’ve look at his own script and say “How can this work without confusing the audiences?” Maybe show don’t tell.
What are you guys talking about... this is an even bigger NEPO movie than The Watchers (one of his daughters was handed out millions of dollars and a Director position to make a nonsense movie). And in this one he uses the movie to nepo his other daughter as pop star/007/superhero! All the attention given to her just sucked the air out of the movie, she made this supposed seasoned serial killer look like a total idiot and just adds to the disbelief you have to out up with, 1st with the killer and on top of that with her + having to put up with 3-4 of her songs just cutting through the whole movie. I think this movie was just an expensive pony he gave to his daughter, the plot and story were just put in the trunk of the car and totally forgotten about... I'm so tired of hearing MOVIE REVIEWERS using the "just turn you brain off" to give a bad movie a pass!
Everyone's saying it's basically a ruse to expose people to his daughter's music. So why is the movie so long? I believe it's over an hour and forty minutes. But he's always had a knack for just making his movies unnecessarily long with a very anticlimactic ending.
We actually enjoyed this from start to finish. We were invested and hooked trying to see what will happen next and if he will get caught. I also liked how u never know what he will try next to escaoe. He was very slick with the moves he made and Josh Hartnett is such a great actor. He did a very great job. Anyone else not getting audio or does TH-cam just suck?
You need to upgrade from dial up internet
All you.
Software update
It happens all the time with TH-cam. I restarted my phone and it worked.
You gotta go out and come back in.
This was giving me Micheal Myers vibes like they tried to put that doctor patient relationship she must have been studying the butcher for years and reading up on him or whatever it felt like. Human Michael Myers 😂
I do miss Josh Hartnett since the Faculty. Trap makes himself trapped by a bad studio: WB.
(facepalm)
Completely unrelated but what does the brother with the locs use cause his crown is majestic as hell, and how long has he been growing it?
Berries and juices. 🤣🤣
20:00 spoiler
How about when they are bringing him out in cuffs and they let him hold his daughter? Or set the bicycle straight up? 😂
Spoiler review *****
I thought this movie premise and setting was awesome.
It reminded me of a Columbo episode too; how-catch-em rather than a who-dun-it.
I expected more and was severely let down. 1.5/5 at best. There were too many plot holes. What was the purpose of the mom of the other girl? How was the kitchen scene even possible? Where was Raven's security detail? The limo scene was laughable, like how? The ending was frustrating. The way that law enforcement handled things was infuriating 😬
Josh Hartnett gave a solid performance, he was believable as the butcher. I wish that they revealed more of his backstory though. Basically it's a concert film for Shyamalan's daughter with a very mediocre sub-plot 🤷🏽♀️
You expected more what? People are a trip saying how they "expected more" of an artist's work than what they have given.
@ButterCookie1984 Based on the premise and the trailer, I expected more from the film than what was given. Simple and plain.
I'm surprised Josh Hartnett even agreed to this sht lol. All his other movies are great
Snake Eyes starring Nic Cage kinda plot😂
I HATE my dude just "hey, they're trying to ambush a serial killer, but I know that's not you, we're cool, in these 5 minutes you're like a brother from another mother, so I'm giving you the literal password". Man, WHAT?! No really, pause the movie and explain this person and how they're supposed to be a person?
The mid-credits scene was the best part 😂
I thought the twist was what happened in the final act.
I think you're right. Someone else mentioned it.
Sounds like it may be similar to Out Of Time starring Denzel Washington and Eva Mendez. Denzel was constantly trying to stay on step ahead etc. or maybe like The Talented Mr Ridley starring Matt Damon and Jude Law.
Bro thats exactly what i thought it TRIED to be….BUT ABSOLUTELY NOT….Out Of Time is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@92kris I haven’t seen Trap but the way Korey was describing it made me think of Out Of Time. lol. Yeah Out sod Time was good. Denzel got that printout from the printer just as Eva was about to. lol. He was in panic mode but still played it cool.
josh was great in penny dreadful. im glad that he’s slowly returning to doing movies again. Watching him on penny dreadful reminded me of how good of an actor he is.
I really enjoyed the movie just felt the ending was a bit uneven for me. But Josh Hartnett's performance was great the whole way.
The twist came in the film's conclusion and not within the first act, IMO.
Yep. A few others' commented on that. I need to rewatch for that twist...
I liked it had me watching it and hoping for part two that’s how good it was Josh does a very good job
I heard that the girl that plays lady raven is actually related to M Knight IRL.
That's his daughter
Not the one who made The Watchers but the other one
His daughter.
I heard his daughter shot JFK yo.
M Night Shamalalala Eras Tour
I like you guys as a trio, gel well together in this review 👍
And the subplot with the mean girls and their mom went nowhere...
How?! 🤣🤣🤣
I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with Julian, but I also thought the acting was off. And not that good.
Please do a review of Michael Mann’s Collateral, Tom Cruise plays an absolute badass of a villain in it.
I was disappointed that was was a serial killer movie that nobody died in and the ending was horrible.Plus the writing after 35mins makes me think that The Butcher would have been caught already..🤣
Well he's really passing the nepo life on to his girls.
Deal with it
Spoiler for ratings
Julien - Rental
Julian - Matinee (Low)
Korey - Matinee (Low)
Am I the only one who wants to see him as Doctor Doom?
This didn't look good to me, but Josh Hart impressed in Black Mirror, so maybe this is his genre, but M Night movies are typically weak in my opinion.
Huh?
Concerning the impossible things that would not happen with the police in real life, I thought about the ending. I'd like to think that the police wouldn’t allow a killer that's known to be super crafty to fiddle with a bike real quick before he leaves with them and its really crazy to me that they just left him alone in the back of that truck. Dont they usually have guards riding in the back with highly dangerous criminals they are transporting? If they don't then they really should. At the end of the day though this movie was a fun thriller to watch. More on the comediac side than anything else if you ask me.
I was never on the edge of my seat except for the very end in that scene that Korey is talking about.
I thought the Trap was the sick girl they kept putting beside dude 😅
What Part In The Trailer Were You Talking About At The End Of This Discussion
Been waiting for yall to review this,
its nice to see Julian Greene talk more in these reviews
Some of the things may have been bad…..but were they TYLER PERRY bad? God no 🤣🤣
This movie needs a roast!!!
He was great in Penny Dreadful.
Hayley Mills from the Parent Trap is in this movie TRAP as well as Good Morning Miss Bliss which preceeded Saved By The Bell. Hmm can't be a coincidence LOL!🤗🤔🧐🙆
In which she plays Mrs. Trapinton. I know, I know, I just wanted ti add more to the lore. Ok, imma head out...😂😂😂
Wow 👌
I saw it last night. Typical M knight Shyamalan directing behavior 😂
And of course, he was a gratuitous cameo in his own film
Everyone's saying it's basically a ruse to expose people to his daughter's music. So why is the movie so long? I believe it's over an hour and forty minutes. But he's always had a knack for just making his movies unnecessarily long with a very anticlimactic ending.
@@syncopation0 I didn’t find it too long at all. In fact I thought it was too short
M knight cameos in all his films, so that's not something new for him, and pretty much expected at this point.
We actually enjoyed this from start to finish. We were invested and hooked trying to see what will happen next and if he will get caught. I also liked how u never know what he will try next to escaoe. He was very slick with the moves he made and Josh Hartnett is such a great actor. He did a very great job. Its crazy but there are a lot of serial killer stories where they have families at home who really dont even expect the person they live with is a killer because they seem so normal but really are hiding this monster. Two seperate lives for sure.
