Rechargeable 123s, that's the kind of thing that'll get me to dig out my old surefire and maybe get another...thanks for sharing!
Those batteries have saved me a lot of money, plus give a lot of surefire lights more output than standard batteries.
How does it give more output aren’t the volts or amps lower on the rechargeable than the disposable
@eastcoastflooring4624 I'd have to agree the disposables are waaaaaay brighter but the rechargeable are still more than bright enough. The 123a are just so damn expensive
Support my shit by buying my shit.

This is the correct opinion. Love me some rechargeable surefires. The ones in my surefire dual fuel have the USB charger plug in the actual battery. Pretty convenient
buy backups of these and rotate out a couple sets but keep some stock in the packaging. They are good for X amount of cycles but I've had one set for well over a year and they still hold charge like day 1 and no noticeable output changes. Surefire nailed it with these batteries
Shame they don’t make rechargeable gloves ;-) thank you for all of your content. I appreciate the laughs and the information.
Did the same for my Surefire G2 LE a nice mod for saving money !
Gotta take the batteries out of the flashlight to recharge them. How archaic.
You must drive a Tesla. I'll just.... fill up my tank in seconds my dude. Enjoy your clusterfuck.
I mean, I keep an M18 battery on constant charge for my impact, so when the one on the unit gets low, hot-swap the batteries out, put the fresh batt in, let the tired on charge up.
Its a similar prinicple to what Windy is doing.
It is so you don't have to wait on the battery to charge to get use of it again. If it is on a battery cradle it is useless.
So you want one of those lights with a built in battery, that when it dies, you now have to wait for it to charge? It'll be light outside by the time it's done. Brilliant. I'd rather change batteries.
Is it that much of an inconvenience your life is gotten that busy but taking the batteries out of your flashlight putting them on the charger and putting the new ones in just wipes you out 10 seconds bro come on I bet you swish back-and-forth when you walk right😉
Fenix UC35 for me, rechargable and 1k lumens, uses the most ubiquitous battery the 18650, small, waterproof. Love it
Bless you!
Bless you.
I have a small problem with flashlights.. I've been a big fan of nebo here lately. Ridiculously bright in pitch black. Incredible assortment of different ones to choose from.
I prefer the Olight baton 1 or 2. I had coolant flow issues on a Okuma 4k and so I reached into the coolant tank and pulled out a Olight baton gen 1. No idea how long it's been in there. But it still worked. It did not fix the coolant flow though. If your shop has a broken DeWalt or Milwaukee battery. Just rip them apart and use those for backups. Lasts a bit longer than the Olight batteries.
Yep, I repurposed some 26650 batteries from a forklift laser 😂 nobody uses a laser on a forklift
Thanks 🙏
Bless you...
I’m a Cloud Defensive MCH guy now, but I carried a Surefire E2D for years. Still have it as my backup because even though it’s outclassed by my Cloud lights it’s still a fantastic piece of equipment.
i love the Tactician too
Bless you
Bless you btw
They're making rechargeable batteries now with the charge ports built in. So all you need is a cable and not the charger. One less thing to lug around. But I haven see this in rechargeable CR123's yet. And if it's possible to do this to CR123's, you know that Surefire will be absolutely last to market.
I have a Nicron N7 with a 14500 lithium. Costs ninety percent less and has never failed yet in 6yrs.
Not me laying on my kids toys at the foot of my bed because its midnight on a Sunday and i cant mess up me sleep schedule for my night shift bending metal.
Him: sneezes
Me sitting alone: bless you
Not confused. Totally with you 👍
USB-C charges my CR123s right in my torch (that's a flashlight for your septics).
A much smaller PITA.
This is what i do with my Xbox controller. And all my weapon lights.
Fenix flashlight same price comes with battery and charger built in you can change the battery still but its lasted me 4 years so far. Usb-c and is very bright 1000 lumens i think and 5 light settings plus strobe. Great edc light the PDR35 i think is the light i have.
I like the O lights, the chargers can charge my flashlight in a bout 5 minutes and it’ll hold a charge for a couple days normal use
Never even knew these were a thing but 👍🏼
Rechargeable flashlights for the win. I'm 100% on board with this one
God bless you. The sneeze, lol
So I brought this black scout light it was off Amazon, Black scout is a military man who is a great man I think. He is on TH-cam, but his flashlight was around 60 bucks with a pressure pad and rechargeable battery and c charger on light so you don't gotta take it off your rifle etc, just plug it up. The lights every bit as bright as surefire.
Just realized that’s a terribly remixed planet caravan in the background.
He’s like me…try’s to open something without a knife then realizes he might as well use it anyways
you can get rechargeable 1860s too by surefire if your light requires two cr123s also dont leave them on the charger after theyre full it will degrade them so fast
I very much like coast for my edc light. Theyre rectangle shaped one (smooth brain cant remember the name of it) takes type c recharge, has 5 brightness levels, and a favorite button you can set to any mode and just on and off that one
God bless you
Hey, here is truly the number one edc flashlight. Nitecore ed27 absolutely fantastic. But to each there own, love your videos man!🤙🏼
I'll check it out
Bless you 😂
I was big into electronics and batterys for a long time. I would suggest upgrading your charger to one with a display and settings. You can find a decent one for around $30-40. Ive seen alot of fires and houses burn down from using old low tech battery chargers, be safe. ✌
Streamlight Microstream.
It's not Tacti-cool, but it's cheap, small, makes plenty of light for EDC, runs forever on 1 AAA battery, and doesn't add any weight or bulk to already overloaded pockets. Perfect EDC light.
I totality get that surefire makes a rock solid light, I just wish they would add some tech features like there competitors are.
Tell me what the charge status is.
Give me a brightness option somewhere between 5 and 800 lumens.
I would totally pay even more than they already are to carry a USA made light.
Preach!
🇺🇸
I buy Surefire almost exactly for that reason. No unnecessary nonsense features.
I most agree to disagree. The ProTac 1L-1AA is the best and yes I do use that same rechargeable battery system.
Yep, im confused...Does it take Glock mags?
Streamlight is better than than SF. Own multiple of both, but SL is just better bang for the buck.
Ive been running a polytac 90x with 18650s for about 2 years. Its big for an inspection light but it has bever failed me. Lumen count could be a bit higher though .
Those are nice gloves
They make rechargeable cr123s that have the charger built in.. just plug in a micro usb directly to the battery.
No. Crap
Whats the go with the worn out gloves? Trendy?
Now, that makes me want to buy 123A rechargeable batteries. I already have a flashlight that takes 123A batteries non-rechargeable which is ok
Whats with the gloves? Did you buy them ripped to look cool? Link? I want to look tough too.
Saved
Would you take the cr123 over a 18650?
I'm already ahead, I get multiple rechargeable batteries for everything I can AAA, AA, 9V, 123, 18650,
Rechargeable cells ftw
Mission success, you confused me.
The sneeze lol
14 years SWAT guy and 22 years a lawman. In my experience..........surefire blows.
Spyderco is approved
My man i can hear and see your gloves screaming in pain let them rest 😂
Dude doesn't take the Mechanix gloves off for anything - must be a real chore wiping your ass
So it’s not bad for battery life to leave it on charger for extended time like maybe weeks ? Or is that bad for your batteries?
I may be wrong here but I think you can replace those two cr123 batteries with one 18650 battery. If I’m right you’d get more power and better runtimes.
You're wrong.
Good to have, but always also have disposables,.for when the power is out.. maybe too long
Tactical gloves needed to demo a flashlight?
Can the pocket clip on that light be reversed?
I heard surefire doesnt approve of civilians owning small arms
They need a 4 pack
😮... son of bih... do you know how many of these things ive ordered ... or.. "Borrowed"? This is huge. They are so expensive in bulk.
Look in to onlight
guud stough ... an write start date on battz
18650's are the way
This is the truth
As somebody that cleans drains, those gloves really bother me. I know the use case is completely different, but damn boi, treat yourself to some fresh mittens!
You gotta throw those gloves away man, it’s time to let them go…❤
Got paid for the military contract
Doesn't this defeat the entire point of wanting batteries over a USB rechargeable? 🤔
Do not keep these charged to 100% all the time unless your okay with having to replace them more often. You can get rechargeable cr123 or you can get 16340 alot cheaper and all 16340s are rechargeable. They are the same size and the only difference is cr123 are 3v as 16340 are 3.7 so what you do is get the 16340s and dont charge them to a 100% it will make the battery last longer.
I'm sure the surefire can handle 3.7v input
Yes I use them in mine with no problem.
Would it behove a guy to use rechargeables for every day usage and stock up standard lithium for situations where there is no power?
drawer full of cr123s = 👍 18650s have to be maintained which is a pita. Fortunately 18650s grow on scooter trees.
what's the charge time and how many cycles do you think you get before you lose like more than 1/4 capacity?
irrelevant, and Plenty.
Oooooooooooofff
Pass. I'll stick to streamlight
Time for new gloves 😂 I get it you're the "hipster" gun guy that goes against the norm, but those gloves need to be replaced.. There is nothing to argue carry-on
Cant you just use an 18650 though?
Streamlight..don't worry about battery drainage as much 😂
My EDC flashlight is an Olight Arfeld UV or a Rovyvon E7 w/UV.
None of this remove battery nonsense.
Lithium rechargeables are all fun and games until they burn your house down
I do not understand why 18650 flashlights are not as prevalent in the rifle lighting world. What is this nonsense? 123 batteries? And you have to have TWO of them in your flashlight? Why??
Dude get out of my head! I was just pondering this to myself. Right on time. Keep it coming!💪🏼👏🏼🫡
But but but yesterday you said rechargables were bad!
watch the full video
@OvertonWindex Brain too smooth for context.
Ok but if your using 2 rechargeable 123s you probably should just buy an 18650 light 🤣 granted this is great for pistol lights
While you're not strictly talking weapon lights, I have read from multiple places that weapon mounted lights shouldn't use rechargeable batteries. Is there any truth to this? Perhaps you could... shed some light on the topic.
i did. Yesterday.
@@OvertonWindex Fair enough, I skipped over that video due to the title, not realizing that it's primarily about rechargeable batteries. Sounds like physical/mechanical reliability aside, on a gun, the long lasting/long storing lithium primary cell is better. Thanks for dumbing it down for me.
im guessing here, but if you already have a schedule to swap rechargable cells on your edc flashlight every day, you could extend that to a rechargable light on your primary weapon effortlessly, yes?
@@mattshussett8063 the issues I read about (never saw any testing though) are the actual construction of the rechargeable lithium battery being more susceptible to vibration/damage than primary cell batteries.
Overton brought up a good point about parasitic draw. I've got a couple devices that use AA batteries and have Eneloops Pro installed in them but I still run a charge cycle on them. One is a flashlight in the car and I went to use it one day and they were quite low. I haven't read anything about lithium chemistry fixing these issues. Seems to just be a problem with rechargeable batteries. I see it in electronics too, someone will set a tablet on a shelf for months, come back to it and the battery refuses to charge since it discharged below the acceptable level for the BMS.
Spending 200 on a flashlight is silly and unnecessary. Makes you cool on the internet tho
Tell me why you send Cody/wranglerstar 500$ per stream.....please? Like wtf
Why does my 30$ streamlight work better and never fail compared to the surefire lights at rhe same price point
Do you need some patreon money to afford new gloves?
AA's or trash
Nothing like a favorite pair of gloves
Parasitic drain?
That thing is way to fat. I’ll keep my stream light stylus pro.
