I have been carrying the original for a couple years. It is now silver in color. I thought about buying the USB version, but since I have found I can get 250 or so lumens from the original with a 10440 in it, and still replace it if needed with any AAA hanging around, I think I already have the best of both worlds.

Nice review. I've been EDCing the Microstream USB since june and it's awesome. Great compact size, but you can still get a nice grip. I actually prefer the black low to high version. I don't usually need the 250 lumen option, but when I want it, it's great to have. Love the USB, don't need to go and buy batteries all the time, just recharge it once in a while. It has helped me many times and I use it with joy. The size, the clip, the lumens, the usb rechargeable battery....it's just great for EDC.
How secure is that head being a push and pull in order to recharge the light? Im kinda skeptical with that push and pull style of the head to expose the charging port. Wish they made it into a screw type. Im worried that head might eventually become loose and slide in and out annoyingly as the light gets old which may cause problems. I carry one of these in my shirt collar every day. Tan version
The down side is the issues with airlines not allowing Lithium batteries on planes.. If this has changed someone let me know please.
Todd Ruch Then how do people take their cellphones on the plane? They probably don’t allow loose lithium batteries, not in a case or device, onboard.
Can you put a regular AAA in if you are not near a charger?
Could you use a battery bank to recharge this?
For sure.
@@gideonstactical Thanks. I just asked because i assumed you could use battery banks to charge anything like cameras or laptops but i learned that is not the case.
It's canDELah not CANDLEah. I found the previous generation's button resistance to be excessive. If this is the same there are better options.
Potato Patata
Diareah
I clipped mine on my pocket. When i sat down it hit the button turning it on and draining the battery. I just carry it in my pocket. Love it for edc.
Whats the best edc pocket carry flashlight?
Please review the new Streamlight STL 88811 WEDGE EDC LIGHT USB
I think my mini-flashlight (EDC) has come in. Thank you! 🎃👍
Is that Wave related to PWM in the lights? Seems to Happen on low only. I have a Manker and Nitecore Clone that do that on low modes. I'm sensetive to PWM and find it hard to tolerate the modulation.
Can you do a review and comparison of Olight I5T and the new for 2020 Streamlight Macrostream?
Really great review! Thanks man
This is a perfect EDC flashlight, I don't need a battery if android cable is already at hand. I mean the Small utility micro usb cable. I'm going to Tent camping next week. Has anyone here knows how to make a diffuser for any flashlights out there? It sounds impossible to do but I would like to know for this flashlight. I don't want to shine my light to other people out there.
Love these!! Now I wish they would do the same thing to the longer stylus pro version. I just like the longer form factor!!
They do now! www.streamlight.com/products/detail/index/stylus-pro-usb
Potatonater5000 Thank you!!
You cant put a regular aaa in it if you need to???
Do thay have better batteries for it I'm haveing trouble finding the right size
Awesome Streamlight flashlight. Another great review Aaron an have a Happy Halloween Sir.
Awesome flashlight until it stops functioning. I’ve had mine about 2 years. Usage has been very minimal. The switch is acting up so it needs to be sent in to get repaired.
Decisions decisions. Buy more batteries for my tired old tactical light for $25 bucks, or buy rechargeable (new) light for $35! Just purchased through you link sir. Thanks for the suggestion!
When it comes to tactacle use. Are there flashlight were 150 is better the 250
Great review! Good examples and information. Thumbs up.
Great light but I've never had their tail switch last longer than two month.
I'm having problems with mine too. It's funny bc I readyour comment last night and I thought, I hope mine lasts. Guess what happened this morning? Problems. Ugh
I've had problems with the tail switch on several of this style light. Know what I never had a prob with? A maglite.
Awesome edc flashlight review!!!
Hey Aaron can we get a comparison of these two vs the new Streamlight Macrostream?!
To me these are the best edc flashlights you can buy.
in the video the dog bowl test (I COULD SEE MOVEMENT IN THE DOG BOWL) there was little living parasites that I could see/DON'T LET YOU'RE DOG'S DRINK FROM THAT BOWL!!!!!!!!!!
Dogs are descended from wolves: they can handle it
Stomach acid is harder to swim in...some people???dopes!
Ok I just ordered the tan one as well from your link. TH-camrs helping TH-camrs. Just as a FYI and even with Amazon Prime my estimated wait time is 2-3 weeks according to Amazon. Just putting that out there for other folks
Choose a different seller
For anyone who can answer...
If I use Gideon's link to Amazon, the first item that shows up is the flashlight. However, of course, there's items from other manufacturers. I'm going to purchase a couple of these flashlights however I might be interested on other things on the page that Gideon linked. As long as I stay on that linked page, will he get credit for other things that I buy as well?
I just want to make sure he gets credit.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help!
Be safe out there!
Can this be use with aaa?
Out of curiosity what Microphone are you using!
In the manual it says it charges in the light. Does it really?
P.s. I I'm pretty disappointed that the high and low work how they do. I got the fde one or whatever just because I liked the color more but I didn't know it worked differently and I pretty much only am going to need the low setting oof
Although 6 of my 8 flashlights are olights 4 being COPPER, i do like Streamlight lights i actually found one yrs ago and had finally bought a charger for it but ended up selling it now i regret it...can't remember the model but was a medium stinger size one that charges with there docks...
Tony Tyler probably a strion ...its my work belt light. Great little light.
PWM on low is not super desirable. I would rather it just be high-only unless they could give you a real low mode.
What about the hat clip featurr?
Just ordered one!
0:12 its the tuskan raiders
I have the one in coyote... It's a great light.
Think I just found the perfect EDC light for me! Thx!
Adam Corley i used the 3a mini bushnell for many years on 3rd shift and a strion but this looks really economical and handy . nice ....
When there is no place to charge the USB one, a few extra batteries can save you life. In a situation like that all the lumens in the world would not matter. Just saying, cheers!
I own this used it everyday for work as a mechanic, thing it's trash charge don't last ya don't need low beam and a 4 hour recharge time is fucked.
Was that even English?
