I didn't know who Tie was until tonight. I'm following a graffiti account on Instagram that posts graffs from Tokyo. There was a picture of a big sign with a small sticker that said "R.I.P King Tie 1". I was curious and started looking online to find out who this guy was. Then I found old articles from 1998 and old forums talking about him. Then I digged deeper and ended up here. I've never been really informed about this community and I don't much about graff artists but I think what happened to this young man is really unfortunate. He seems really respected in the community. I'm glad I took time to find out about this story. I'm sorry, my english is not perfect. May he rest in piece!
RIP TIE AKA SEO RIP ROBBO RIP BATTLE RIP NORM RIP NEKST RIP TRIGZ Been writing since 93 and these are my shout outs to legends never forgotten east to west!
I grew up, a block away from Setup and met him when I was only 12yrs old, and 3 blocks from Mega who I knew well as a teen. Always looked up to these writers. Great dudes who would help the younger writer. I remember when Tie came to NYC. Every block he had fill ins. Mad props. -MESA a.c.n 55th st! Sunset Park!
