I've never really seen shitty artistic graffiti, which doesn't relate to gang tags, violent remarks, and racial discrimination which is strongly negative. This artwork makes a bleak world look a little prettier. It's a great way to express who we are as humans especially as graffiti has been with us since the beginning which is seen in cave painting.
Having grown up in the NYC area in the 80's and 90's, the "Graffitti" was one of most interesting aspects of the city to me. No one believed me as a kid when i said people sleep and live in shantys in the tunnels and subway terminals. Then the film Dark Days came out and confirmed what I'd seen....
when these officials talk about gathering people to clean up graff, I'm always reminded of my days doing community service with graffiti abatement and us kids catching tags with the rollers when the officers weren't looking.
personally i love seeing jack daniels and target ads covering the wholecars including the windows. we need more of that because i associate paint with bad times so that means paint is bad
I'm 50 years old and never have graffitied anything beside a school desk , but i love to see good graffiti not a fan of a 4 second spray paint scribble on fence though.
Most of these writers hitting clean trains definitely out of towners and from other countries. Keep smashing! Reminds me of my youth and seeing magazines with clean trains destroyed from the 80s. That last footage of the male Karen yelling at the camera man telling him to stop vandalizing graffiti art was too funny.
Not “most”, “all”. The Europeans are coming through and tactically killing it with incredible full/multi-car top to bottoms and I’m here for it. Sadly I’m yet to see one in transit. Loving the movement though.
I heard a story about Les that he was arrested for male prostitution and beaten up by his wife for sucking cock. Have you ever heard that before? From graffiti writer Casino. I suspect he got Kets house raided and him arrested. I believe he is an NYPD government informant. I also heard rumor about he is in GtaVi............
Their right about the social media part I got kicked out of a pretty big known crew In L.A. because I didn't post enough on Instagram 😂 I'm talking about 40+ year old men telling me this

Fucck this is dope, you see when theres a crisis, like covid, graffiti keep living and it's undeniable, it has a much bigger impact when the repression guards down, and the fact that it has amazing impact on people's eyes that the city is alive , shit I can only imagine regular dudes wondering how those pieces popped up when he was on lock down watching tv
there is some bonus footage from these interviews that ill be releasing. But the storyboard is all caught up to present day with part 5. But I'm cooking up some new projects as we speak. Stay tuned, thanks for the positive feedback!
Leave these people alone, what they do is beautiful n artistic and I believe it brightens the city’s landscape. The movie Warriors in the 70s is remembered so much because of the subway trains covered in art.
I’ve always liked it personally I remember going to a great graffiti exhibition in the 90s in Sydney Oz and I’m so glad it’s making a come back..Even us in our mid 50s appreciate it 👌

The trains are painted in such a way that they look beautiful in that haggard city.
This is godly, I'm so happy to see graff coming back this shit will never die
It is beautiful to see the whole train top to bottom Graffiti production.

Awesome stuff showing both sides, amazing works, great editing, all round good to see.

Jack you hit it out the park once again brother thank you for your contribution as always brother. REAL NEW YORKER🙌
Best graff doc I've seen in over a decade. Good job whoever did this
Excellent documentary very well done ✅
Back in the day 1985 all subway got graffiti inside and outside. And all buildings

Still fresh, relevant and radical. Graff never fades.

Just came across this series last week and now part five drops. Right on time.
I love love the whole Car/Train pieces. Took me back to the mid 80's when I was out there bombing.

No bullshit I was up through NYC a bit ago and it blew my mind how much work was up. The defunding of the buff is eye opening for that now

No one will EVER put an end to tagging. All they'll do is waste time and money attempting to stop a worldwide art form.
I love how at the end everyone is buffing...thanks for the clean surface foos
emceeing, deejaying, breakin', graff and beatboxing 🔥💛
