That intro is so ubiquitous to me from all these memes i forgot that it's actually a one-time gag and doesn't happen every time these two appear in the show.
Love how Skinner’s laugh gets more and more delightfully devilish each time.. while Chalmers’ “Seymour!” gets more and more steamed with each new aurora borealis over all the steamed
i was so entranced by the normal version of steamed hams that i forgot what i was watching and was genuinely startled it when suddenly restarted 1 minute in
Yeah, I've almost forgot that too when seeing these steamed hams videos. It's funny the way each start-over gets higher in pitch each time, I saw it like this: Start of video - Skinner and Chalmers in their normal voices 1:04 - Skinner and Chalmers talking as if they inhaled a small amount of helium 1:55 - Skinner and Chalmers just inhaled more helium 2:45 - Skinner and Chalmers sound like the chipmunks 3:30 - The chipmunks having just inhaled helium 4:04 - Now it's so high pitched that it's hard to make out their words 4:35 - A totally squeaky scrabbly noise, 100% incomprehensible 5:05 - The squeaky incomprehensible noise on a higher speed, it now sounds alot like that awful squeaky noise when pulling a styrofoam or tightly-wrapped plastic packed item out of a box, that sound that makes you cringe and is so hard on the ears (especially 5:58 - 6:05).
In this part of the simulation, we can see Seymour & Chalmers trying to break the endless 5 year cycle by avoiding the topic of steamed entirely, only to fail and restart right were they left off each time. They are truly trapped in Hell.
I think the only way this could be better is if after they pass the previous "steam" mention the video just resumes regular speed, like someone is constantly speeding up a video to get back to where they left off and it's always just right after the word steam was said
The sped-up intro theme made it feel like the theme itself was getting tired of repeating so often, and was just trying to get itself over with as fast as possible.
Step 1: Watch until 3:29 Step 2: Pause and reduce video playback speed to 0.25 Step 3: Watch Steamed Hams become the Itchy & Scratchy show crossed with the smurfs Step 4: Choke with laughter every time Chalmers shout "SKIINNNNNEERR!" EDIT: On 0.25x speed the last cycle is hilariously similarly paced to the original XD
Watching the last two loops at 0.25x speed is something I do not regret doing, because I got to watch at about normal speed but with everyone’s voices pitched up about eight octaves
I like how the transcript progessively gets worse At first they're accurate then flaws start appearing like "distracting my calves" and "see more" then it starts hearing music and words that aren't there eventually it starts laughing in madness before peacefully dying
i played this at 2X speed and achieved a higher state of consciousness. i wish you mortals well and will see you soon on a higher plane of existence. 👼
At a certain point it’s difficult to make out the dialogue but if you’ve watched that far you most likely have seen so many of these you fill in the words just by watching
Do you ever wonder if there are other skits from The Simpsons that could be used artistically like Steamed Hams? Perhaps a renaissance in comedy art waits undiscovered in the depths of those seasons.
No matter how many different edits I’ve seen or even if it’s the original, it still hurts that Seymour wasn’t smart enough to turn off the oven. Regardless, I love this meme and will never tire of it
It seems that the very show itself, fighting for control over the time loop and skewing narrative, speeds up to try and get back on track each time only to fail, loop, and start again yet faster until all coherence is lost.
as someone who uses Enhancer for TH-cam and can slow this down to 0.1 speed, I've just been watching them get more and more high pitched and pixelated as the time goes on and it's hilarious, by the end you can barely tell what they're saying if you're just listening to the audio
Second pass sounds like bic anime dubs from the nineties. Third pass sounds like a mostly forgotten 2003 Cartoon Network series. Fourth and fifth pass sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks and the girl chipmunks from the same series, respectively. Sixth and seventh pass sounds like the squirrel from Emperor's New Groove, in calm and agitated moods respectively. Eighth and ninth sound like a real rodents. The closer art approaches reality, the more it reveals the animal nature within us all.

No matter how fast Seymour goes, he's never fast enough to stop the roast from being ruined.
That means that it was already burning before the time loop began
The problem with being faster than light is that you can only live In darkness.
