thanks for this, made it much, much more reasonable to get the achievement-like 30 battles total in the free battle instead of the 200+ they have now with all the DLC stuff. The game mode can be fun, but the AI only stuff can be extremely cancerous, probably none more so than that stupid Damage Down Row SP where they stack it x3 and have 30% damage reduction that can't be pierced with something like Beerus's defense ignoring, and the AI teams often combine it with Whis/Vados for even more damage reduction, possibly getting up to like 50-60% damage reduction, and all their units have like +30% damage or more from their stupid AI only skills like all damage up SP. Beerus in the story mode (both times) is stupidly overtuned-his figures are like 10 levels above the other people before and after him and are all UR, and so having extremely high stats, as well as Whis for 30% damage reduction and Beerus for massive damage that pierces defense As a tip for anyone else that wants to aim for this but is having trouble getting started-if you can get Rare/Secret Rare adult gohans (like 85-88 or so), his skill boosts ultimate gauge by 20% (R) or 30% (SR), and you can leave them at level 1 so they are heavily damage or killed, making it pretty certain to have an ultimate ready on turn 2. Have someone like Vegeta (SR 19, Inward Anger), Cabba (SR 165, Awakened Power), or Jiren (UR 319/320, Power Beyond a God of Destruction) on the front center tile by themself with the skills Stat up 01, Attack Up 01, and Speed Up 01 (in that order, for + 1400 attack, 700 defense, and 2100 speed-unlocked in the skill shop partway through the 5* story stuff, though you may have to battle some NPCs around the map to unlock it) to have them use an ultimate on turn 2 that will most likely wipe out all 3 figures the AI places down, and they can then either finish off the AI leader, or the remaining figures if the AI goes for their ultimate. Having Ult Gauge Up Turn 2 on a backline support unit that just stays on the bench can help counter AIs that have Ult Gauge Down T1/Every Turn, though it won't help against AIs that have skills that reduce ultimate gauge by like 10-30%. Anyways-having that setup of 2 R/SR 85-88 Gohans in the front on turn 1 to get damaged/KOed, and then the 01 skill user at the front center tile on turn 2 to use an ultimate to break the enemies team into pieces. This allows you to only have to invest in like 1-2 figures and have a fairly reliable team to take down opponents up to like 5* or 6* (especially ones like 5* Saiyaman, Jaco, and Videl), and you can repeatedly battle and beat them quickly to gain more figure EXP and resources to be able to power up other figures and build proper teams to be able to take down the tougher figures like Beerus
You are very welcome im glad its actually helped someone cause I was frustrated as hell going for the last achievement of this game lol. I agree it can be fun to a degree but like you said the damage negation stuff that basically just makes your characters stupidly weak and do no damage when they can one shot you wasnt fun for me. The skill you can put on that makes you 10% stronger everywhere is amazing if i didnt find that i would have just had to keep playing till i got some units with crazy skills as mine were pretty basic.
@@Solestro Champa (UR 178/179, God of Destruction's Anger) can help blast through the damage reduction since he boosts damage done to enemies by 30%, and SS Vegito (UR 270, Strongest Fused Warrior) gives +10% damage done to enemies, but good freaking luck pulling either of those if you don't have tons of TP medals to burn to try the SR rare pulls/bulk pulls with figure coupons, or get extremely lucky. I happened to pull an Ultra Instinct Goku (UR 315) that can absolutely destroy anything he hits, but he folds to a slight breeze if he's attacked because you weren't able to go first or the row has 2 enemies, and even with him and a few other lucky SR/UR pulls it was still extremely obnoxious to clear the story missions and some free battles with the cancerous damage reduction skills, especially since the AI can stack those skills on any figure, meaning your damage is cut by a huge chunk and you probably won't be able to kill the enemy figures before they nuke yours
@@MarkofWisdom yeah I wasn't lucky enough to pull ultra instinct. I heard he was good but didn't get to pull him. I had to make do with what I had and it was enough up to those last few missions then it was just too much damage mitigation for me. And I didn't want to grind tp medals to keep trying.
@@Solestro he has upwards of 10k attack at start, and his skill multiplies it by 1.1 every turn, so it just stacks higher and higher. I saw him do 10k-15k+ damage to enemies. He is unfortunately fairly slow (only like 2k-2.5k speed at lvl 99), but his ability maxes out his speed after turn order has been decided, so if you go first he'll always be the first one to attack, and if he survives being attacked if you go second and have a lot of damage mitigation, he'll move first on your half of the turn. If you're lucky and the AI leaves his row open, he can easily do 50-75% of the enemy master's entire HP bar, possibly even one rounding them if he gets a follow up attack and you get all the button prompts right

This strategy worked great for me during the story but once I got to the free battles the skill stopped worked so I had to use a guide from RevunGaming to finish the particularly challenging opponents, thankyou for your help in story mode anyway ❤
I wish I could have found your video sooner.. I literally did all the free battles and an hour later, I went on TH-cam just to find out that you didn’t have to do all of the free battles.. haha I guess I just have too much time on my hands

Couldn't agree more. Hero colloseum is the worst addition to xenoverse too. Unfortunately I watched this video too late and I did literally every battle in there not knowing I only had to do the few mentioned in this video so thanks for that. Also forgot you had to talk to the guy to get the achievement I was pissed when I completed the last battle and it didn't pop.
Been a while since I played it, you may just have to grind some medals in order to try and get some good units. I got lucky with my 2 androids they worked actually really well together.

Hello, is any character figure ok as long as we have a "decent" team or there is some cracked ones? I ask that because I really want to finish this achievement as fast as possible. (Yeah I don't like hero colosseum..) Thank you for your VERY helpful video
For the free battles you need a semi decent team or some good luck. Tbh this whole mode is luck because if you don't get lucky when you pull characters you are kinda screwed and have to farm tokens to try again. My two androids you saw from the super hero movie they were my MVPs. Just check what characters you have and what abilities they have cause there are some really good ones. You don't need a good team for story mode though with those debuffs you can use.
I did them all and got the trophy on PS4 but the save transfer to PS5 bugged out and didn't give me this huge grind of a trophy on the PS5 trophy list... Any ideas to fix it? I redid a battle and spoke to Oshi in case that fixed it but it didn't work :(
I finished The Story and all the Free Battles that you said to finish. However the Trophy doesn’t appear for me, do I also have to get the 70+ Figures to complete it because I sold most of my collection for XP and do I also have to fight the NPC that spawn throughout the city too?
It's all random anyways so I would just hope for one that has good stats. The 2 androids I used were really good for buffs. But it's been a while since I played so I don't know sorry 😔

You can also use this method to easily beat the battles after Trunks too. The list for required battles you have is still correct to this day as well.
