    Guys, have you ever thought about the possibility, that this is a fake letter sent by the scamming seller who just stole your money and sent the fake letter in order to make you stop poking around and quietly let him enjoy your money? I live in Europe and I'm not familiar with the US government officials communication, but I am pretty sure this is a document counterfeit and a selling scam. I'd suggest every recipient of such letter to get a lawyer and sue the crap out of the scammer...

    Govt requires you to put a muffler on your car or they will fine you. But if you want to put a muffler on the loudest thing you own, they make you fill out paperwork, get fingerprints and pictures, pay $200 for a permission stamp and wait a year. Why do we tolerate this bull-butter?

      @@mobius-1503 this is my theory. Also this should work with machineguns. You have to be SQUEAKING CLEAN and coordinate with at least one other person in each Judicial district first. You're going to need a LOT of money because there's no contingency money if they win. I also am not an attorney.
      You and others in different judicial districts get arrested for making a silencer or be denied by government to make a machinegun, find a firearm lawyer that HAS argued in the supreme court, pay a LOT of money, put many miles on your car driving to and from court, and have ample vacation time from work.
      Again, just a theory.

    Having spent time in Club Fed for making silencers and machine guns back in the 80's, I know a thing or two about them. First is they should be legal. I say this because only Hollywood can make a weapon truly silent. There are three things that make noise when you pull the trigger. The expanding gas, which is the only part which a silencer works on. Just as your car still makes noise with a muffler, you will not cancel all the noise from the expanding gas. If you are lucky you will remove 1/4 to 1/3 of this noise. The second item making noise is the projectile breaking the sound barrier. The speed of sound is around 1100 ft/sec. A 45 ACP at 240 grains travels at 940 ft/sec. I'm not sure of the 22 short. So you have a sonic boom to deal with. The third noise maker is the action of the weapon. So you need to make it a single shot.

    • @timan206
      @timan206 ปีที่แล้ว

      Subsonic ammo is made for that purpose. I have it in 9mm, 308 and 5.56.

    There are devices that are classified as suppressors that do not screw on, they are quick attach/ detach. If you want to buy one of these, buy one for a 30 caliber and you can also use it on a 22 caliber gun, or any gun that is 30 caliber or less. This will save you some money.

    Using a suppressor with supersonic 223/5.56 ammo, reduce the dB level by about 25-30 points.. So, a 223/5.56 averages around 170 dB at the muzzle. Suppressed your talking about 140/145 decibels. Still very loud, but not as loud. Now, you can use sub-sonic ammo and get the sound down to almost nothing, but the bullet doesn't have the velocity to do the same amount of damage, and bullet energy drops off very fast. Not to mention if your running it through an AR, it's going to take some significant alterations to get the ammo to cycle.

  • @Fudmottin
    @Fudmottin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    IANAL, but if an arms company is selling a tube with end caps, one of which having the standard threading for a suppressor, then they are effectively selling you a silencer without a baffle stack. The tube gets the serial number, so that's the silencer. So if you want some real fun, you can cut a bunch of tubes from an appropriate sized pipe and get them serialized on the Form-1 and have a bunch of silencers that don't attach to anything. Once you get the tax stamps, you can then finish them or not as you see fit.

      The "Illegally importing a firearm" charge came out of the online fuel filter. That, and possession of a silencer are the only two charges being pressed against him currently. Since this is in civvy court, not .mil court, both of those _have_ to be related to the mailed "fuel filter." See this part:
      "The complaint notes that possession of both the auto-sear attachment and the buttstock are illegal and that Justice received both items from Chinese vendors. No additional charges have been filed regarding those devices, but Justice also faces the possibility of additional charges in military court."
      Anything found in the related search has to go through a court martial, which is worse for him.

    I'm no gun expert by far. I know very little about ammunition however that being said. About a year ago I was over at a friend's house and somebody brought over these bullets that they said are muffled like a silencer. I found it very hard to believe that any bullet could ever be muffled like it just went through a silencer. And yes I'm aware it's not the bullet that makes the noise I'm aware of how the noise is made and what needs to be silenced. With that put aside, what I'm saying is is that there is a bullet out there that does seem to sound like it has a silencer built into it and I know that's impossible blah blah blah what I did find out about these bullets is that the amount of black powder that's in them or whatever you want to call it granules that are in that bullet is the reason it seems a lot quieter than it should be and when I went out and shot these rounds they sounded quieter than a 22 that's the only wait did I know there's bullets out there only because the amount of p gunpowder granules that are put into them it's a reduced size however they will still end your ass so who needs a muffler or a silencer or suppressor when you can just buy the ammunition that's going to be just as quiet as a suppressor would make it like I said I'm not educated on the how this all works or what that means as far as power goes but I know they exist so don't take me as I'm some know-it-all cuz I'm not if anybody wants to weigh in on this ball means put some education here but for those of you that don't know there's something out there that's perfectly legal that's quiet

    I'd like to point out that crossing state lines without an approved form 23 for a silender is NOT a crime. This is only required for SBR's, SBS'S, MG's, and DD'S. AOW's and suppressors are exempt of this requirement. Otherwise, everything you said I found very interesting. Didn't even think about having to pick it up in a state where they're illegal - that's obviously sticky.

    The part of the letter which encourages you to perform acts that might be illegal should be examined by a lawyer to determine if entrapment attaches. In layman's terms, entrapment is when the police or government cause you to do something illegal that you would not ordinarily do.

    the only thing that seems funky is that it looks like you have to fill the form 1 BEFORE buying the parts, because if you APPLY for a form 1 while having the parts, that shows the intent to manufacture a suppressor with the parts you have, that's where it seems illegal, since you aren't legally allowed to it with that intent yet

    I'm not a lawyer , but when you asked if there is a law against that type of action I believe it falls under entrapment if they intend to have you grab the item from their state and break several federal laws. But I wouldn't be surprised if the ATF was pulling a stunt like this they're not necessarily known for having a professional attitude or method of enforcement

    There is Constitutional protection against the confiscation of property without just compensation, but that's in a real Court (non USC Title 28 3002 15a admin kangaroo ). Anyways as far as getting a BAR member to put together a case for these violations, just not enough pressure or money in it. Good continuation of the last video too I think that people will be very interested to see all the product out there👍👍.

    Hey, kid! I like your new tat. I ordered a couple of those non-silencers because I need a break from this lockdown and I want to see the ATF boys rappel down from my ceilings. I hope they call ahead so I can film it. I just need to figure out how to get it over to my big screen TV. Maybe I should get a YoubTube channel and post the video so my friends and enemies can watch it. Then I could remind everyone that they need to eat more meat ... and spuds. And none of that damn Aussie beef they've started importing. I damn near have to pay the packing plant to take my cattle now. I'm talking to you, too, kid! Those skinny-ass arms practically scream vegetarian ... or effing vegan ... or turkey ham eater. You need real meat ... BEEF!!!
    Anyway, I'll let you know how things work out with the ATF. Do you think it would help if an anonymous source reported that I'm expecting a suspicious package? Is there any place where I can also get one of those bump stocks thingies? Would that increase my odds for getting raided? I'm losing my ass on these cattle, so it would be great if I could live off of the government's tit for awhile since China says that this CCP virus is actually from the US Army. I sure wish I could claim to be an illegal alien so I could get free shit. I mean, I've been supporting the government bureaucracy for all my life, it's about time I got something back. Anyway, thanks for the video.
    Take care and keep your barrel clean.
    Bo Leggs.

      lol that was the weirdest right leaning nonsense ive seen in a long time. who doesnt want beef? if you cant sell your stock, that's your problem. isnt that capitalism? dont you like capitalism?
      why dont you investigate why you cant sell your beef, or sell it cheaper to people that will appreciate your beef. i mean there's always options when beef is concerned.
      isnt there a social media option for selling meats to people? if not make one and become a millionaire, and pay me in beef lol. also do you have to pay the people that take care of your stock? or are you able to offer room & board situations? not sure how that works exactly, farms have a really bad history of enslavement so yeah...

    I have a 10x1.5 inch version of the solvent filter on my .22 rifle. At first it didnt work good, I put aluminum flashing tape over the inside baffles and shot a round through it with the cover off to "drill" a hole through them. This tightened the tolerances to where it just makes a "crack" noise now, The mechanical sound of the hammer is now the noisiest part of the rifle. I am all for regulating these things, All guns should be required to have them, Think about it, do cars have mufflers? Its required by law. Let's stop calling them silencers and call them mufflers. It will be easier politicaly.

    Seriously though, shouldn’t they be stopping real criminals. Most of these guys know modulators, suppressors or silencers whatever you want to call them don’t actually make guns super quiet, simply as loud as someone yelling or at least talking like a loud drunk person at a rav. It’s all just theatre for the sheep.

      You should hear my 450ftlb .338 PCP air rifle.. 5 shot groups at 500y are 1 minute or better and the gun is half moa at 200 consistently.
      With a 10in Monocore LDC (lead dust collector as we call them in the Air gun world lol) suppressors... its pushing a 180g lead slug at 1040fps at the muzzle.
      The gun is extremely quiet like you hear hammer hitting the valve and thats it.. very very little muzzle report.
      I have taken pigs in the 150lb range out to 400y with that gun and 180g pure lead sptizer HPs that open up to around .60 and near pass thru at 400y. I have taken two deer in the last 2 weeks with it. One at 120y and one at 200y. One was DRT and the other ran about 30 feet. Full pass thru on one and on the second the slug punched thru the shoulder but was under the hide on the exit side so I recovered the projectile, this being a boat tail 180g notched HP (think of a uncoated Berger Hybrid) expansion was .64. You should have seen the near fist size hole in the lungs the projectile left and the totally destroyed exit side shoulder. The energy transfer is insane with those slugs. Firearms don't create that bad of tissue trauma the wound channel 90% of what a mag center fire rifle wound channel looks like. There's more cavitation damage from powder burners but as far as wound channel and flesh/organ destruction the high powered airguns aren't that far off.
      I believe the energy dump isn't all that different as the big slug dumps 100% of its energy in the deer and the powder burners take a large amount out the exit side.
      I have pics of face book of that carcass and I assure you if you don't know better you would assume a mag .30 cal shooting a premium hunting bullet is what it was shot with. And you should have heard the impact. That 180g .338 hitting sounds like a sledge hammer hitting a tree when it hit... I have a 1300ftlb 50cal shooting 700g slugs with are just a gaping soft lead HP that i have shot big hogs with... you have never seen blood fountains until you have seen a double lung pass thru on a 400lb hog with that cannon. The .50 MR hollow point 700 grainers are a stunningly high performance round.

    this is why it's important for people that manufacture their own "hunting supplies", to teach others how to manufacture, because then you arent profiting from such information, you are teaching, which is never illegal. however teaching is rarely profitable, so it's a moral situation, you only care about profits? or do you care truly about the 2nd amendment and your rights. it's a complicated issue to say the least. however i personally believe every american citizen should have at least one firearm and be able to legally own silencers, thermal vision, .50 cal rifles, etc...
    because the more safe we are with having weapons, the less we desire to use them. desire can be dangerous and can cause more harm than good. also everyone having firearms means everyone has a chance to defend themselves from threats foreign and domestic.
