NYC Subway: IRT West Side Action

- Today’s film just shows some ordinary scenes from the IRT Seventh Avenue-Broadway Line. I shot this a while ago in May on a weekend when the (1) train ran express from 96th Street to Times Square-42nd Street. (There is a separate video on my channel with a ride on that (1) express.)
Stations shown in the film are Cathedral Parkway, 96th Street, and Christopher Street. There is also a brief ride on a Brookyln-bound (3) express train from 34th Street-Penn Station to 14th Street. From 18th Street onward, the (3) train is racing the local (1) train and both enter 14th Street simultaneously, which is pretty cool.

Thanks, yeah I love that (3) as well. The ride from 96th to 42nd is so much fun on these old R62s.

Kdot H, perhaps the R62's brakes are worn out due to its many years of running on the (4) line. I read somewhere that the R62s formerly ran on the (4) line from 1983 to about 2008 or 2009.

Reva Schuller you’d be surprised. The (4) train runs express on the Lexington Avenue Line, but it’s not as fast as the (2) or (3) train. The 7th Av line has faster express service. Lexington Av is too slow and crowded.

Luftschlange Hey man I was wondering... Are you ever gonna go to the abandoned stations such as, Abandoned Bowery station on the J and Z or the city hall lower level station on the R.
Kamil Ahmed I don't think he's gonna do that, because it's illegal to walk on the tracks for get into the Canal St station, or even the emergency exit at Bowery st station. He doesn't want to get in trouble.

Kamil Ahmed Yes I saw a video where some guys went into the abandoned level but they heard someone and just run away. I'm agreed with you that there's no many people on that station, and you can run away so easily from a worker: you can just run upstairs and jump over the little closed fence on the top of the stairs and you're on the active platform. The stations that I'm only waiting to be visited are 18th Street and the Worth Street stations on the Lexington Ave Line. But I didn't found any videos.
BADriver142A 18 street haves to be someone where bewteen 14 street and grand central and worth street have to be bewteen canal street and brooklyn. Bridge
