@@wtaenyc Been almost 30 years since I rode that line, but definitely one of my favorite express runs. Right up there with the Queens-bound A train between 59th and 42nd streets, and the Bronx-bound D between 36th street and Pacific street (I guess now Barclays Center).
I normally don’t post comments on videos, but I had to for this one. Let me start off by saying that I’m a native New Yorker who moved out of state for a job a few years back and has missed NY ever since. I still visit the city a lot, and one of my favorite things to do is ride the subway. I grew up in Flatbush on the 2/5 line and D/Q (now B/Q) Brighton lines. I came very close to wanting to be a train conductor because I was obsessed with the subway. I consider myself very lucky to be able to call NYC home, and know as much as I do about one of the biggest transit systems in the world. Now, I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve taken the 7 train, so I didn’t know what to expect from this video. But this video makes me want to take the 7 on my next trip to the city, just for the experience. This video just does everything right! Here were my highlights/thoughts. 1. The propulsion systems on these R188s are ridiculous in every right way. 2. The newest section of tunnel between 34 street and Times Sq sounds so good. It’s like low howling sound almost. Very similar to the 2nd Ave subway. 3. Coming into Times Square, the 7 really makes a statement. All those rail gap sounds are something else. I was like “alright drama queen” 😆. 4. Speaking of the rail gaps, did I mention that this line has some really ridiculous rail gaps sounds?? My favorites were arriving into Times Square, on the straight section before Court Square, the lead up into 33rd, and the whole express run. One thing is railfans love.. a good rail gap sound 😂 5. After QBP, it gets real. I would imagine that this has to be one of the fastest express runs in the system; Especially with CBTC. The camera must be on there solid, because I swear the train was about to break the sound barrier 😂 (between 90th and Junction Blvd & pulling into 61street especially). 6. Now I can see what some of the “hype” is with the 7. I like how for most of the first half of the video, the amount of trains headed back to Hudson Yards is incredible. It seemed like they were meeting each other at every station until the express run. GREAT Video! 10/10. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go back to only reading the comment section 🙃
It is truly an honor to read such a heart warming comment like this one; for a number of reasons. We are pleased that this video was able to bring you back to a place you are blessed to call home. As a NYC native, you have a respect and love for the subway that it is ok if others don't relate; NYC is underground after all. Had you been successful at becoming a conductor, it would have been an honor for you to have given your service to NYC. As for the 7 train, thank you so much for the detailed reply as you pointed out a number of different factors. With that, you can now look forward to enjoying the 7 experience in real life, as we are sure you will keep that promise to yourself. Thank you so much for this comment and for your video review. We look forward to earning your support and we can't wait until another video is worthy of another one of your warming comments. 🫡
@@wtaenyc Thanks for your response, the pleasure is all mine. Please keep doing the great work that you’re doing for the transit community not just in NYC, but around the word. Trust me, I’ll be keeping that promise to myself. I have a trip back home planned in a couple of months. I’ll be sure to comment on more of your work. I already have one (of several other) videos in mind 😆. Take care.
I grew up in Flushing and used to ride the front car window as a child in the 1980's. My family and I moved away from Ny In 90. This ride brings back so many memories but so much has changed. Thank you for this video.
It is an honor to bring back those wonderful childhood memories. It was truly something special being able to stand at the front and watch as the train went through the tunnels so it is with great pleasure that we are able to bring back those childhood memories and we hope we continue to earn your respect. Thank you
My Flushing memories include the Clam Bar, Diskins, The Hurdy Gurdy, Gertz, SKleins, and the great Lowes Theater at Northern Blvd. I was riding back when the tokens were the size of a dime and cost 15 cents.
@@BleuCzechYup! Those were the days!! I also remember that, at certain transfer points, you needed to obtain a ticket from a machine with this "push down" handle; the tickets were the size of the small "raffle tickets" you might see at a carnival. I was able to get free rides at Franklin/Fulton in Brooklyn using meaningless pieces of paper that approximated the ticket size!
Wow, what a rush! That high-speed joint pounding is absolutely musical! Thank you for capturing this. The audio quality, even at high speed still sounds crisp and clear. Good show!
As the 7 train stopped at Court Square and Queensboro Plaza you can see how Long Island City changed within the last 15 to 20 years. The last time I traveled to LIC in 2007 many of the commercial and residential buildings in that neighborhood were either under construction or had their first tenants moving in.
This goes to show how much work the city has done/is doing, to help improve the infrastructure and modernize the area of LIC; it is truly an amazing area of Queens. It'll be fun to see what the next 15-20 years will look like.
And I recall Long Island City in the 1970s. I attended Aviation High School at the 33rd Street/Rawson station, graduated in 1972. Later, I had a Local trucking job which included Long Island City on my route. Back then, LIC still had a manufacuring component in its economy. Swingline, the staple manufacturer, on Skillman Avenue was one of my customers. It's the building you see on the left just before the 33rd St station with the Capital One sign. Eagle Electric had various plants near Queensboro Plaza. The gum manufacturer Certs and Wrigley Chewing Gum was on Thomson Avenue. Breyers Ice Cream had a plant across the street and a little down from my high school. Equitable Bag Company occupied the corner of Van Dam Street and Thomson Avenues in a large building, now occupied by LaGuardia College. Yes, the change from manufacturing, which provided good paying, middle-income jobs, is dramatic.
@Mato T I was going to LaGuardia CC in 73 after being discharged. I had to reply after you mentioned the Swingline Bldg.! It sure got some free Ad time during the Met games! I was born in Corona 1953.
Outstanding video!! I grew up riding the subway from the time I was a young kid in the 1950s and loved every minute. My grandfather was a car shop mechanic at Coney Island Shops for 47 years starting in 1927, and my uncle was the assistant yardmaster at Coney Island for part of his 33-year career.
Wow. Thank you so much for sharing that. We dedicate this video to your father and uncle for their service to NYCT and to NYC. It’s an honor that you can get a chance to escóriense your childhood train on our channel and we hope that we continue to earn your support. Thank you again and we wish you and your family all the best
Most of us NYC natives remember those days as a kid of being able to watch out the front of the train. We are honored that we can bring back those memories to you guys and hope that you like them.
Rode this train everyday from 42nd St. in Manhattan to Court Square when I attended LaGuardia Community College in LIC. Although this train skipped it I sometimes I got off the 33rd Rawson Street closer to the school but always walked to the elevators at Court Square when leaving Queens because the stairs were too steep at Rawson. Thanks for the video it brings back some great memories of traveling into Queens.
We are honored that we can bring back those memories for you. Thank you for sharing your experience when you took this train and shoutout to LaGuardia graduates 🎓
Started Aviation High School in 1999, man has things changed. Used to live in Manhattan, when I went to school the 7 line would start off in time square.
I imagine for you this is definitely a complete different experience from when you were back in HS. We can only hope that you are able to appreciate seeing your old line from this angle.
The quality is AMAZING! I am from Brooklyn originally and have been addicted to the Subway videos now for like a year and I've watched all the old ones and the quality just keeps getting better and better. I plan to try to watch all of your videos
@@wtaenycYOU HAVE EVEN EARNED MY HEART! This is awesome! I ride the train 4 until 125th st, transfer to 6 train until 110th st to see my grandma! Honestly, all these travels I make are relaxing, I remember just putting my headphones on and putting one of my fav songs, I still do it to today!
The nice thing about the new metro lines, is they tend to have *HUUUUGE* crossovers at terminal stations giving the ability of traversing them at speed! We have similar on the London Underground Victoria line in my home city, though nowhere near as large as these ones...
I have a friend that drives on the 7 line named Wayne G. I was heading to flushing coming off of the E train went upstairs to catch the 7 as the train pulled in I look up and there he is driving the train so of course I headed to the front of the train and at the of the ride I got to talk to him for a few minutes ALSO I couldn’t find the A train ride from Mott Ave. as we discussed in another video. Thank you this is awesome
That is hilarious. That must have been quite 'an experience,' when you saw that it was your friend. By the way, make sure you let your friend know that we thank him for his service to New York City; he truly deserves our respect. Thank you so much for your support and we can't wait for you to see our Mott Ave video.
Thank you for the constant support. We hope all is well with you and the family. We faced some challenging times but we were never going to stop. So much more in store.
Excellent video! I especially loved seeing LIC at night as the train exited from Hunters Point Avenue station. Used to travel this line for many years and loved revisiting that "front door window" experience. Great job!
Thank you so much for this. We are happy that we are able to give you an experience that you are able to appreciate; it means a lot and glad that we can give you an experience of the line you rode for years.
It’s truly an honor to contribute to your memories and shoutout to everyone involved in the changes done to LIC; it’s truly a spectacle of an area. Thank you so much for sharing. 🫡
I definitely love the CBTC signal system on the 7 line. The service on the line seems a lot better and faster. I can't wait until CBTC comes to the entire system especially the 2 and 5 lines which I do most of my traveling on.
I absolutely love all of your videos. Especially the 7 Line Videos. I was born in Flushing and the 7 Line is my all time favorite subway line. Thank you so much for these videos. I have been dealing with a lot in the past year. Depression and anxiety! Your videos bring me much comfort and peace. Would there be any way that you could do a 7 LIne Video during the day? Thank you so much!
@@wtaenyc Thank you. My girlfriend who is a Filipina would like to travel to 61st and Woodside to visit the "Little Manilla" area for her first experience living in NYC
My "maiden voyage" on the New York Subway began with this train in the summer of 1965. I went on a family trip to the Worlds Fair at Willets Point. I rode on the blue and cream cars that ultimately became the Redbirds. Then along came the R-62's and then the R-142's and probably a few R-188's as well. This train route also began a love affair with the subway. On the back of my 7 t-shirt, it has the name International Express in different languages because of the many ethnic people who ride this line. At the bottom of the shirt, I wrote this item: the Redbirds' last stand: 1963-2003. Thanks for adding this line to your list. It brought back a lot of memories for a Pittsburgh kid who grew up riding streetcars, got his first taste of a subway, and has been addicted ever since!
Aww man. Thank you so much for sharing this. We are absolutely honored that you are able to appreciate our work. Those red birds were a thing of beauty and this system is also a thing of beauty. We are sure that some folks who also remember them being “blue and cream” cars can share your emotions in regards to those trains and to the 7. We hope that we can continue to impress you and bring back more memories.
@@wtaenyc You're welcome and thank you for providing another wonderful video. Just like your first one with the A Train from the Rockaways to 207 Street, this video brought back a lot of memories of the 7 line from my first ride in '65 to the present day. The redbirds got a new lease on life after a major rebuilding program along with the R-32 brightliners. I hated to see them go, but they will always be a part of my memories for years to come. Thanks so much for your comments. Keep up the good work!!!

Another great upload! As a Subway junkie since I was 5 years old, you bring out the kid in me! Would like to see you do the D train from Norwood to Coney Island or Vice versa Express in the Bronx.
Thank you so much for those kind words. It brings us great joy to know that we are able to bring out that kid; a kid who deserves to enjoy the memories of their childhood. We cannot wait for you to see our concourse exp video. It is one we can't wait to share. Thank you again.
Wow.... So much has changed since I last visited since idk 09 or 10, by train to visit family there. I used to live in Queens, moved from there to Brooklyn like in 1999 or 2000 then to the Bronx like 2001. Court SQ to Queensboro Plaza took me by surprise, all those large buildings weren't there but wow, the progress from these past few years. Freaking hell, Flushing has more markets than ever before. I remember Circuit City (I think) back in 1998-2000 being in a big building after getting out of the station sheesh. This was a nice trip of nostalgia, to see my old City have these tall buildings and markets, the old train line I used to ride from 111th st to Corona Plaza, Junction Blvd to Grand Central, Times Square or even to Flushing st, ever since I was just a kid. God I miss the old red train too. Forgot how beautiful it looks during the night riding a train. I gotta find time to go there, visit my old home.
It is with great pleasure that we have given you a taste of home once again from a different perspective. Your memories of NYC are amazing and we are sure that they are others that can appreciate your memory as they too may share similar experiences. Those red birds were a thing of beauty and like your relationship with the city, they will truly be missed. We thank you for sharing and we hope you’re able to come back soon. If you do and you take the train or bus, be sure to let the Mta employee know that you appreciate them for their service to NYC, your home.
Wow, I’m so grateful! I requested this a little while ago and have been waiting for it since. Not sure if you did this specifically for me or not but either I appreciate you for it. Nice work leaving in the automatic announcements too for ambience. 😉
We pay attention and make note of all our comments. Because of you and others that requested the 7, we wanted to make sure that we gave you guys what you asked for and we hope that you like it. From the looks of it, it seems like you do so we are extremely thankful for that and hope you are able to appreciate all that’s left to come; especially the NB trip.
21:10 For a system that is notoriously slow and plodding throughout, the 7 express really gets after it coming into Junction BLVD after 74th street. great vid! Oh and LETS GO METS!
Thank you so much for your service to NYC. It’s because of folks, like yourself, that this city remains the best city in the world and we appreciate you 1000%
@@wtaenyc I loved it! The is my go to from/to Flushing, when I need her. I’m in Brooklyn, so I don’t take her as often, since the Q44 takes me to Jamaica Center, then I get a Quick 8 home.
As a Phillies fan I took this train to Shea Stadium and Citi Field 3 times in 08', 09' and 11'. The subway itself is part of the NYC experience. Fun times. Never got to ride in the front though but I guess this counts. Thanks for the video. 👏👍
It’s truly a pleasure and thank you for sharing. Honored that our video can give you a chance to reconnect with the memories you shared with this line. Your words are piercing as we too believe that the subway is truly apart of the NYC experience. 🏆🫡
Thank you guys! You're doing awesome content As non-american, I fell in love with New-York, just looking your videos And now I'm looking for opportunities to relocate. Imagine how great you are! Please, don't cut signal delays or train stops It makes videos more natural And what do you think about day and night videos on same route?
Thank you so much for this. It is truly an honor that our videos can have such an impact on your life that you would consider relocating. That truly means a lot to us. We also love your idea about the day/night videos on the same route. We will speak this over with the team and see what can be done. We hope you continue to like everything else that we have to offer.
The 7 line is the best IRT (A-Division) line out there. And with the it's even better. Do wish it could run on weekends when no planned work is in the works, but as a person who takes the 7 a lot, it is quick, reliable, and useful. btw good job on the video!! Would look for the (7) soon
Every time I watch these videos I see something different. What an amazing feat of construction. Also little things like right before going into the tunnel before the end of the line somebody is shining a flash light at the signal.
An amazing feat of construction indeed. It is truly special the work that they did and continue to do for this system. We appreciate your support and hope we can continue to earn it. Thank you.
I really Love that you guys added videos for the R143 and R188. I fell in Love with the propulsion for these 2 train after being around the trains in Atlanta. It’s music to my ears! Please do more videos for these 2 trains!🙏🏾
I have taken the "E" from Jamaica Queens to downtown the times that I have been on the subway there. It is interesting how the big cities have each different subways and elevated rails systems.
@@wtaenyc No, have not seen the "E" videos. It is nice to be there in NY. I still have my heart goo g back to see the Old World Trade Center. I still miss seeing the two older buildings along with the other ones as well.
@@wtaenyc I am sorry! It should be that "my good heart going to those years". Yes, I lived in New York back in the 1970s. And I use to fly over in the summers to see my Father in the late 1970s as well. Great memories of New York back then.
Wow that express is a lot faster than I expected! 30 minutes from Hudson Yards to Flushing isn't bad at all. The train was also going quite slow in some sections, and that could definitely be sped up.
Yeah. Especially near Flushing. To thus day, many wish that the MTA would extend the train either to College Point or Bell Boulevard. Main Street has become a not so good Terminal.
We remember those days as a kid when we were able to stand and watch as the train operator moved the train through the system. We are honored that we can bring you back to your childhood and hope that you love all that we have to offer. Thank you again.
Great video of the 7 express. Recently I took the Q to 96 street. 72 st, 86 st and 96 st stations where the last 3 stations to visit in the whole system. I started it while in high school in the late 70s and continued in the early 80s. I even did the whole Staten Island system in 2015 or 2016. 🙂
Wow. What an amazing feat. That is truly inspiring and something that maybe we will do next. We appreciate your support and hope we continue to earn your respect.
Holy crap thats awesome 👌 👏 👍 I don't know how you did it but wow 😍 keep up the great work thanks, I wish I could drive a train just like this as a simulation game
Great videos which we need with the loss of the rail fan window with the new equipment. Thank you. The roar on the curve leaving Hudson may be due to the raised ties under the rails amplifying and changing the usual squeal sound. It's so annoying to me that I cover my ears until we pass. The kink in the northbound track after Grand Central may be due to how the river tube was constructed. I believe they constructed from both ends segment by segment and they didn't quite match up when they met. Amazing what they did back then. With the CBTC I notice the signal stays red after the train leaves the station even if it's clear ahead and clears to blinking green when a following train approaches. I find the 7 runs much smoother with CBTC and without the annoying timers. Thanks to Andy Byford for putting still in place a system to straighten out and speed up the system.
Thanks to Andy indeed and everyone else that was apart of making sure that the vision was able to be executed in this manner. We definitely miss the RFW and this is one of the reasons why we started this channel; to bring that back. We have to agree with you, it is truly amazing what they did back then and we are sure that as time goes on, they will continue to do the amazing work to ensure the system gets better, faster, cleaner and much more efficient than it is now. It’ll take time and work but collectively, it can be done. We hope we continue to earn your respect with our content and we appreciate you for leaving an awesome comment.
Woo Hoo, looks like I was wrong about this channel! Glad to you back with another amazing video! Ok so question - does anyone know why the right turn out of 34th street is so loud & doesn't sound like most other turns in the MTA system? Did they use special tracks or something? I'm not able to figure it out. : / These videos not only show a great clear view of the tunnels but the crazy amount of trash on the trackways. The MTA should really clean the tracks better & maybe also have people on the platform fining those that throw trash on the tracks. Next question - does anyone know how that kink in the tunnel 8:04 from Manhattan to Queens got there? I know it's always been there; I remember it even when I was young back in the 80's & 90's. Guess it couldn't be fixed when they did the Steinway tunnels several years ago. Was it only me or did it seem like the operator was going kind of slow, especially since the train usually drives itself on CBTC? Can the T/O tell CBTC to go slower, looks like he can. Love the way the express goes down the hill from 62nd Street to 61st, much better than when regular signals were in effect. Ok last item - What was up with the tower at Main Street? Did they have a newbie operating the switches? After the local crossed over they could have let the express & local in at the same time since the center & right tracks were free, but instead crossed the express in front of the local. Anyways, great video! Can't wait for the next!
I love how I ride this line several times a week and never noticed any of these things. I am very unobservant it seems. I like your attention to detail, I’m finally taking notice of things I ought to have taken notice of before.
Wow. What an amazing comment with loads of important questions. We hope that some of our train fans can help answer them so we will pin this comment so that folks can chime in. We can only answer the ones that we are certain about as we would hate to share wrong information. We are happy that you can appreciate these videos which in turn helps you appreciate the tunnels and the infrastructure of the system. The folks that were/are apart of making this possible are strictly geniuses and we tip our hats off to them. As for the trash, we can agree that the NYCT can do a better job at cleaning up but we personally think that they can start by having more trash receptacles on the platforms, so that people won’t be inclined to throw their trash on the tracks. The less folks throw the trash onto the tracks the less messy the system becomes which means the less work NYCT has to do to keep it clean. As for the CBTC question. The train operator is not in control of how fast the CBTC system operates but should they decide to “take over,” then they have full control over the speed. We aren’t sure why they were going that speed so we can only be thankful that everything Werner smoothly and there wasn’t any major issues. As for the tower operator, we have no idea why they decided to bring the express across the local either. We can only assume that they made the best decision given their circumstances and assume that they had their own reasons for doing it the way they did. Because we don’t know their reason, we can’t judge them. We are on the outside looking in and we are certain that they are simply doing their best given that their job is already a task; ensuring that the trains continue to run smoothly. Great observation btw and great questions. We hope we continue to earn your respect and we are sorry you missed us.
Hello, here to answer your questions. 1. The noise is causes by the flanges or the part of the wheel that allows the train to be stabilized when its turning 2. The Kink there is from construction back then most likely during construction or maintenance., Maybe an error but it most likely happened in the 20th Century. 3. CBTC goes slow for a variety of reasons. Construction on a nearby track, A Train that isn't properly far enough, Rain/Snow and other factors as well. This is most likely due to the 2nd reason where there is train traffic so maybe that is why. CBTC is computerized signaling tech so systems like that work together for safety reasons. 4. The T/O can't "tell" the CBTC to go slower, but they can take control of the train. T/O's are there for safety reasons ! So in the event that they need to take control of the train to their control instead of CBTC, they can do that. 5. That's because of the CBTC and how its programmed, not due to Switch Controllers.
@@zycklacon9588 Thanks for the reply. 1. Yeah, I get that the flanges stabilize the train but if you listen to it in this video, it doesn't sound the same (It's a loud roaring sound) as when the train makes the S curve from Times Square to 5th Ave (Normal screeching sound). I did notice that there is no "Keeper rail" in place, the extra rail to keep trains from derailing. Strange that it's not on a turn that sharp. There is definitely something different about the tracks right after you leave Hudson Yards. 2. That kink has been there forever. I just want to see if anyone knew of its origins. You would think they would try to fix it. 3 & 4. It seemed strange that train was going slower than usual. There were no workers seen plus they aren't allowed to work on elevated lines at night, correct? But I did notice many of the home ball signals were red until the train approached. I don't fully understand CBTC but what I have seen in the past, mainly on the L line, signals are always blinking green. It was different on the 7 that night. 5. Same as 3 & 4 I've been on the 7 express a lot going into Main St even with a local & it seemed like the middle track was off limits. I was thinking maybe the tracks may have been controlled manually for training purposes in case of CBTC outage. Seemed odd. Thanks for the reply again @Zycklacon!
@@jimneutron157 To address your question about the sound-- if it's in the "newer" track sections constructed in the last 10 years, the louder roaring sound I believe has to do with the sound dampening materials used to insulate the underground tunnels from the surrounding property. The best example of this is on the 2nd Ave portions of the Q, north of 57/7 and especially after 61/Lex where it is all brand new construction. Until I heard this roar on the 7 near times sq and Hudson yds I thought it was just special construction materials to keep the upper east siders happy. And my understanding of CBTC is that it's just like any other cab signaling that will give a slow speed to maintain safe distance from a block or switch that isn't open or set, respectively, and gradually slows on a smooth deceleration curve as the computer is calculating most efficient speed for the conditions ahead (even if the nearer visible signals are green). This is apparent a few times in the video and most exaggerated at the very end approaching the red at Flushing main. CBTC in reality creates virtual blocks around the moving subway superimposed on the "legacy" fixed blocks which together dictates the allowed cab speed.

The very BEST- NY Train VID that I have seen. Traction Motor and Track Sounds give a good indication Of Grades- Curves etc. I assume there must be a reason for not having Welded Rail? -- Thank You, from far away Western Australia.
Flashing green signals are the new CBTC signal system that the 7 and L use. Right now it’s being “cut in” in sections of the Queens Blvd, 6 ave 8 ave and Culver lines. It’s going to be decades before the entire system is updated.
Do not ever delete this video.
This is exactly what I asked for when searching "train asmr".
We are honored you appreciate it. Respect to the NYCT employees that give you guys this experience.

Weirded me out how fast it took the switchback after QB Plaza, but yeah.
@@wtaenyc Been almost 30 years since I rode that line, but definitely one of my favorite express runs. Right up there with the Queens-bound A train between 59th and 42nd streets, and the Bronx-bound D between 36th street and Pacific street (I guess now Barclays Center).

@@darylcarr8283 you talking about the turn?
One thing is railfans love.. a good rail gap sound 😂
Take care.

I love the 7 express after Queensboro Plaza! Only takes 10-15 mins to get to Flushing past that! Allows me to get home faster after classes!
It is truly an amazing experience. “See what we did there?” Lol
I absolutely love the sounds that this train makes.
Extremely nostalgic for sure. Thank you for sharing.

@@wtaenyc Absolutely. I fell in love with NYC when I visited in 2015. I look forward to going back at some point.

Queens Plaza -- Memories!🙂
Are there vids for the 2 & 5 trains?
Because when you travel on a train the city changes each time
@Mato T I was going to LaGuardia CC in 73 after being discharged.

Thank you for supporting 🏆🫡
@24:25, now that's cool. The middle lane (I assume the express track?) goes above the actual station. Nice!
Great observation. It’s absolutely amazing
The reason for the steep incline is because of the junction to the Corona Yard and Shops. The junction is located directly below.
Holy crap thats awesome 👌 👏 👍 I don't know how you did it but wow 😍 keep up the great work thanks, I wish I could drive a train just like this as a simulation game
We appreciate you for your support. It would be dope to see in a simulation game for sure. 🤔
@@wtaenyc It actually already is, the game is called OpenBVE
@@wtaenyc Thanks for your nice comment. You and others are doing what the MTA should do like CTA Chicago does on their You Tube Channel.
So, is everyone here saying that there's NO POSSIBLE WAY to get a forward view thru the motorman's cab?!
1. The noise is causes by the flanges or the part of the wheel that allows the train to be stabilized when its turning
Amazing video. 7 train is so much faster after CBTC is installed.
Thank you so much
It'll be even faster once the tracks are replaced with continuous welded rail (CWR)!
CBTC on the 7 line allowed the R62A's to go back to the 6 line.

@18:28, nice seeing the R188 set with the r62a-type LED side signs
Great observation.
Absolutely Awesome!
Thank you so much
From an ASMR perspective, THIS is the best video. I love the sound of the R188s :)
Great video. Im sad that I was not in the premiere of this MASTApiece (even tho i did have a lil cameo lol) but anyways, AS ALWAYS, great video and keep up the FANTASTIC work you dude are doin. Also ur channel just turned half a year 😃

Thank you so much for sharing this Tom, it is truly appreciated. Positive energy to you and your family from this side of the globe to yours 🏆🫡☀️
@@wtaenyc thank you my friend
Nice camera angle. I rode that meat wagon many years to and from work around the city.
We are Honored that we are able to bring you this angle. We hope you like the views of the train you took faithfully.
The R142A/R143/R188 sound is the best sound Kawasaki made throughout the whole New York City Subway system. It’s like music to my ears
Same👍
That train has an EPIC motor sound!! My first visit to NYC (from UK) in Feb 2025, obsessed with watching subway videos until then 😂 can’t wait!!!!!

The very BEST- NY Train VID that I have seen. Traction Motor and Track Sounds give a good indication Of Grades- Curves etc. I assume there must be a reason for not having Welded Rail? -- Thank You, from far away Western Australia.
Thank you so much for your kind praises; respect to you and your family on your side of the 🌏🫡
Very impressive fast running!
We appreciate you. It was a nice run on the express line.
This and the 3 "Red Rocket" are the fastest expresses on the IRT. The R188 might have the edge over the R62 as far as acceleration goes
🏆🏆🫡 thanks for sharing. The R188 just might win that race for sure.
Thanks for the video!
And thank you for watching.
13:42 like that R188 7 train track sound
💯🫡😮💨
12:05 Correction : The court square station transfers to the F line, not the M line.
Thank you so much for sharing this. If you notice, the period when this video was posted would align with when the M did service this station. 🫡🏆
This was pretty dope. I hope sometimes y’all can get the 4 train or 5 train.
We can't wait for you to see them both.

Thanks again! Love it. btw starting @8:05 you can see the tunnel misalignment.
Great observation. We wonder if anyone else caught that but either way, thank you for your comment.

Flashing green signals are the new CBTC signal system that the 7 and L use. Right now it’s being “cut in” in sections of the Queens Blvd, 6 ave 8 ave and Culver lines. It’s going to be decades before the entire system is updated.
Great point and thank you for sharing. We can only send them positive blessings that they are into place sooner that a decade.
