I always thought the Blue Max truck was sponsored by and part of Raymond Beadle’s Blue Max stable. Thanks for another great and informative video! Absolutely love watching these and reliving my childhood.
Wally was local to my home area. I saw him pull at the local fairgrounds a bunch of times. Fun fact I also worked on his farm machinery for the local implement dealership. I miss the Blue Max!
Great video! My Dad's and Wally's families were neighbors growing up. I've known Wally since I was born abd actually live a couple miles from myself. I always thought Blue Max was the coolest pulling truck ever, and used to think I was so cool when we would visit with him in the shop and I would get to sit in it. I search from time to time to see if there are any videos of it and can never find much. I'm glad there is more of it out there now. A great interview with one if the nicest people you'll ever meet.
Wally is a great guy, there is a part 2 with him on my channel also in case you haven't see it. If you would like, send me a PM on Facebook and I can direct you to where all the other videos of the Blue Max are, most the time they're inside other videos, thanks for watching!
Man this brings back so many great memories. And the fact that for the last few years I’ve wondered what happened to this truck. Thanks for sharing this.
Have you ever thought about going to find the Wildfire pulling truck. Was a very competitive for truck originally from Norfolk Nebraska I believe, last I knew the owner was in Missouri. Gary Seelin or something close to that was his name I believe. It was one of the most beautiful trucks I'd ever seen
Anyone remember a puller thar was some kind of early 30s sedan with lowenbraű lettering on the sides? I saw it and had a poster of it but I can't find anything on the internet about it.
The gate side story is, the promoter didn't want two exhibition trucks called orange blossom so the name was changed to Midnight Express. the wood was African Mahogany
If your into late 80’s and 90’s pulling do you remember a truck called COAL TRAIN all ford power and truck from ohio? It was on espn once that i can find. That truck is from and still in my home town of wellston ohio. It was piloted by randy stewart and was a pretty successful rig.
Awesome, I love these suggestions, I looked it up and it's a 7hr ride for me one way, but I will add it to my list so that if I'm in that area I can go try to find it, thanks!

@robguysgarage5422 1969 F250. 390 4 speed. Was a 300 six truck. Ripped that out and stuffed in that 390. In later years I learned it was police interceptor engine. The truck it self is pretty rough. Still runs and drives ok. I just don't seem to make time for it. I have my 3rd truck I ever owned still as well. 1980 gmc Sierra classic. I spent some money on that and re did it all. It sits in my garage. Take it out on special occasions and 🤷♂️

The cackle at the 15:00 minute mark. Wally accidentally put some nitro in the tank......?
Not sure, I'll have to check with him but it definitely does sound a lot beefier
If you haven't, you should look up Gary sileen in bolivar mo with the old wild fire
he's on my list for sure, I had his city and state as Norfolk NE, is he in Bolivar now?
I just said this exact same thing. It was a awesome truck
I believe it had a engine that they called the Ford "shotgun hemi"
He also had the "red hot" Ford ranger which is owned by someone in Iowa now
There's a good video of it running in Kansas city on you tube
Sad that he scrapped the bodies. They would have been great to have a hold of. Did he scrap the original Blue Max chassis as well?
I believe so, the last Ranger Blue Max chassis is under the Plum Nuts truck, thanks for watching!
What happend to the go for it sled?
I'm not sure on that one
Black gold adventure?
I'm talking to the guy that has it, he's just a little far for me to travel to right now, but hopefully I'll get to, thanks
I love these stories! So cool.
Thanks!
