That truck is the beginning of Monster trucks, they ruled when I was young. I’m 52 and still love them especially the originals. For guys my age it’s an absolute Legend. I’m Canadian but I also love America 🇺🇸
Great video! The truck's paint is definitely showing its age, A few scuffs and a bit of rust too. The 48-inch tires on it are different than the ones they had years ago, with different tread patterns and shape. It seems to me that they had more shocks on it back in the day compared to now. Thanks for sharing.
The original #1 had the orignal engine rebuilt on powerblock tv right before going to the Smithsonian years ago. It has the bigger wider tires as well, and all the shocks. that one had a hemi headed for big block with two predator carbs on top of the blower too, which was unique to #1. This one has a regular headed later big block with 2 holley carbs. Bob was on that show when they delivered the truck.hesaid thatwas the first.

Bob is my dad's 2nd or 3rd cousin. We went to his home for a family reunion, maybe around 1990 or so, and got to sit on the tires for pictures. He also had a Ford Minivan monster truck there.

I remember the day, the first time seeing that truck in person, like it was yesterday. Wasn't the original "original Bigfoot " a little bit smaller though?
@SLF-nw2yc there were many versions of this truck with different tires as it kept getting bigger and bigger. It was in the movie "Take this job and shove it" in one of its earlier versions. Lots of videos on here and pictures at Monster Truck Museum in Indiana as well as at Midwest 4x4. 51 years old and been following this truck almost my entire life. Since I was about 9-10 years old in 1981-82 area on the cover of Offroad Magazine going over two cars in the middle of a street.
In the very very beginning I saw it at the Florida State Fairgrounds at a semintruck exhibition and all Bigfoot did was slowly crawl up on two cars that had flat tires and busted out the windows the people went nuts, it might have been 1978 or 79 had smaller wheels and tires than this version. Come to think of it Bigfoot may have had this tire and wheel combo. I was just a little kid.
I would think so, next year is their 50th anniversary, I think it would be really cool to set up the original car crush, nice and slow blowing out glass at that event
I was bout 17 wen i seen it in the movie ..take this here job and shove it wit Johnnie Paycheck and that there was the greatest lookin truck I'd ever seen and I'm a gmc feller

Vèry cool! Thanks for watching
For some reason I always thought this was the best-looking truck. The tires just seems to be the perfect size
Love it too, thanks for watching!
Didn’t the guys on Power Nation TV rebuild that engine a few years back?
Yes but they have since taken that engine out and retired it.
Yes I believe so

Always has been always will b the classiest monster truck
Why are they not using the output on the transfer case @ 4:56?
There's really no reason too, because the other output goes to the rear end, the smaller output may be a PTO
Art work by Dan Patterson....he was a legend in STL. RIP my freind 😢
Thanks for watching
The first was powered by a 460
Time to restore Bigfoot 1. To see all of the dents and rust, itnis very saddening.
it's showing its age for sure, thanks for watching!
The legend the King.
The Lengend, Original!!?❤❤❤
What motor is in there currently?
I'm not sure exactly, but there is a series on youtube of a shop rebuilding it and putting it back in
My dad loved this truck and got autographs from Bob Chandler thx for posting this rest in peace dad Robert L. McHenry 🙏♥️🍺😎

Not sure, there's so many different stories about it it's hard to get a straight answer
This is the original Bigfoot. It's been through many different configurations in it's life.

Wonder if the old girl can still crush?

Get video of geeen one beside it
That was a few weeks ago 500 miles from me, there's a little bit more of the green one on my other video of the open house
That was a " real truck " through and through...my younger days
I would pay a million dollars for this truck. But I would want them to go through the whole motor and drive train before I took it
It's one of 3 that Bob will never sell, but you can go see it though at least, thanks for watching!
@@robguysgarage54221, 5, and 8?
How many people can ever say they’ve sat in that seat? Great video.
