I built the Orange Blossom Special 1937 model pulling truck in the 80s its still mint in the original box along with Bigfoot 1 model thanks Allen and Bob for building these amazing trucks.
Absolutely
I have my original model build also, and a few original issue kits unopened on the shelf!
They're getting rare I think
I had the OBS pulling truck toy from Playskool with the gear shifters in the roof. Coolest toy truck I ever had
@@SlickWilly79 they're still available too
I remember competing against Allen in the early 80s and I actually gotta chance to ride shotgun in the 2 wheel drive OBS....
I'll never forget the sound and looking at the ceiling....!!!!
Lol glad Allen had clean socks...
😉👍
Wish I could ride in it too, which truck was your's back in the 80's?
Never comment on TH-cam videos but I must share this, in the mid 90's I was about 10 years old at the boyle county ky fair. I seen this truck pull and fell in love. Went back to the pits and was allowed to set in this truck as well as a 2wd ford ranger. I remember they was hualed by mid 90's chevy trucks. One a dulley and the other single wheel (green and blue maybe?) I asked why the 2wd was a ford and was told because the body was free! Never will forget that night.
Very cool, thanks for sharing, these trucks mean a lot to us and am so glad the owners are keeping them beautiful and letting us see them again, thanks for watching!
I’m 49 years old and I remember as a child 8ish years old, seeing OBS pull at the Russell County Ky Fair, OBS and Stiches were my favorite trucks
I remember Stitches well too
I remember this truck and the 37 they were both my favorites as a 10-year-old pulling fan.
Yup me too, thanks for watching!
I saw those trucks pull in the 80's at Rupp arena. loved seeing them.✌️❤️🤘🇺🇲🙏
I loved being able to see them again too, thanks for watching!
@@robguysgarage5422 I grew up watching these guys pull. I lived a mile from Sonny Powell that built the Diamond T in the early 80s.
Just saw Diamond T last year, it's still pulling
Holy cow, brings back memories, i was sitting behind this truck at the scales waiting to be weighed for that Gtown pull
Great memories, thanks for watching!
Glad they're being well taken care of. I've seen all his trucks at the pulls in the early 80's in the Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT and New Haven Coliseum in New Haven, CT.
Thanks for documenting this history.
I loved seeing them again up close, thanks for watching!
I remember watching the 1937 truck pull at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh Pa when i was a kid. It was my favorite 2wd truck. I had the toy version along with Bigfoot and the sled.
Yup me too, thanks for watching!
What an awesome truck thanks for the video
Thanks! It was great to see it upclose
I saw this truck run when I was a kid, this brought back some great memories. There was a jet powered pulling funny car called The Green Monster, anyone remember that car? Been trying to find pics of it without luck. Haven't been to a pull in years, back in the day they always came to the arenas in every major city along with the Super Cross series.
If you go on Facebook to Puling reference or vintage pulling photos and in the search bar type in Tim Arfons Green Monster, you'll find pictures of it, thanks for watching!
@@robguysgarage5422 Awesome thanks!
Great vid,, good to see these trucks are still around
Thank you, I loved seeing them again too
Appreciate your channel! I've always wanted to find James Griner of Nashville Georgia. I watched him pull as a kid. I'm a Ford guy and he always ran Ford's and Ford motors. He had a 67 or 69 yellow Ford pickup I saw him pull in at North Marion High School near Ocala FL. I was like 10 yrs old. Man your channel brings back so many memories of that part of my life. Thank you.
That's very cool thank you, I'll have to look up the Florida guy, and I'm having a blast finding these trucks and people again, thanks for watching
I remember in the 80's going to all the fairgrounds around the area to watch the pulling series, the orange blossom special was a bad ass rig...best I remember it would carry it out the gate pretty much every event that it was possible when nobody else was.
Allen's trucks were some of the best for sure, thanks for watching!
Excellent. That is some builder.
Allen knew what he was doing for sure, thanks for watching
I had the orange blossom playschool toy with the pull sled. Fun times
Still have my OBS playskool too
I was hoping he would of started it! Pretty cool to see anyhow. Thanks
He just started it up a few weeks ago for the first time in years at a car show I believe, thanks for watching!
wow the front axle is out of a 49,s or 50,s duece and a half ! transfer case also. a 221 rockwell i believe, i seen these trucks in portland oregon, always a great show!..
Great info, thanks for watching!
My Dad worked at Woodpecker trucking and I remember when I was 5-6ish (now 39) there was a square body blazer monster truck on its trailer tires.
I love that stuff
I can't believe that the paint has held up so long.
It looks great still, thanks for watching!
@robguysgarage5422, is the little lights in the engine bay recently added for showing off the truck? And did the owner of the truck say when he would get the truck running again?
I believe they are for show, he started it up and got it running earlier this year
Do you know or heard anything about where Allen's boots are or what happened to them? I think that would be cool.
I would imagine his wife Jody has them, I don't think she would get rid of those
It would be cool to see them. I remember watching all these trucks in the 80's. It's so awesome what you are doing! Thank you.
What happened to the blue 1929?
I found that one too- here ya go- m.th-cam.com/video/hlBplP2b5SY/w-d-xo.html
Awesome sir and I would love to see more on all the old pulling trucks thank you so much
More coming for sure!
Does the old girl still run and pull?
Definitely still runs, and could pull but the guy just shows it every year
Last time it pulled was July 2014 Stanford KY
The childhood memories. A very unique looking truck in its time. Thanks for presenting it.
Thanks for watching
@@FJ-vp5fv do you have video of it running?
U need to look up Paula and Ken Guines black gold and they oaklahan
Working on that for sure, Ken has passed but Paula is still around, thanks for watching!
Where's is the tank orange blossom special
It's getting refurbished, and a week or so again just started driving, if you go on Terry woodcock's Facebook page and scroll down you can see video of it running, but it has to get painted yet
@@robguysgarage5422 what model transmission does this truck use ?
Is that a big block chevy engine ?
Awesome video, seen it pull at Harrisburg farm show complex in mid 80’s. Traveling promoter from Kentucky would bring super mods to town. Thanks for sharing
Yes, it's a 510 Chevy with a 400 trans
Thanks for watching!
He should have not stretched the frame. To me that make the truck look stupid.
That was done to make it a super modified to fit into that class
I would have not used a Chevy truck.
I think Allen was a Chevy guy mostly
Was Original 2 wheel Drive or 4x4 ? Legend 💪🇺🇸💪 America Strong
Original was a 4x4
